When Elliot arrived at Stanley’s house and saw an elderly married couple appearing to welcome them, Elliot was a bit pessimistic. He had always thought Loraine was his grandmother and had to be nice to the older woman so he wouldn’t get punished. But he discovered that the woman was not his real grandmother making him assume he had no grandparents.
As long as Richard and Anxia―his birth parents loved and protected him dearly, that would be enough for Elliot. He didn’t need another grandpa or grandma. In addition, his grandfather named Opa Stanley’s aura was somehow... as dangerous as Song Lei.
This frightened him, and he was relieved not to greet the elderly couple. But he couldn’t dodge any longer because his father told him to say hello to his grandparents.
“Lori, opa, and oma haven’t met your brother yet. Let them meet first, and then you play again. Okay?” Richard cajoled, to which Lori immediately agreed. “Come here, Elliot.”

Elliot still didn’t budge from his spot―he wanted to refuse but didn’t want to anger his father. He could have acted and been a good boy to please this old lady, but Anxia had made him promise not to pretend anymore.
Richard and Anxia looked at each other, which only they understood. At the same time, Lori, who knew nothing and was insensitive to the tense atmosphere between them, immediately grabbed Elliot’s hand and made her brother’s hand touch the grandmother’s warm skin.
The four adults who saw Lori’s innocent actions widened their eyes in shock as they had never expected their little daughter to act while Elliot’s body instantly became a statue.
