What is ‘opposite’ supposed to mean?
“Losing your lifespan means to lose the concept of life.”
“Concept of life?”
“In other words you don’t die.”
“Huh….you mean, immortality?”
“Yes, it days that one stained by the abyss will lose all concept of life and death. Once the eyes of the red fool appears in both eyes they will life forever even if their body is destroyed, unaware that they have fallen into the abyss.”
The book closed with an audible sound and I turned away from the principal thinking. Eyes of the red fool……stained by the abyss…….lose death.
“I don’t have any idea what it is.”
“Huh?”
" "I don’t understand, isn’t this person supposed to know?
“Oh did you misunderstand and think I knew something? I only know what’s written in the book. Of course I did do a lot of research on my own but, I couldn’t find anything.”
However her story continued.
“At some point however, I did come across an article about a party who had captured a dungeon before.”
“Dragon’s heart?”
That’s probably the story she was talking about. But when I looked back the room had fallen silent and the principal was looking at me with a surprised expression on her face.
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
“Why……do you know that?”
After a while she began to speak calmly again.
“Well, that’s ok.”
The principal ignored what I just said, resituated herself and started speaking again.
“Well, it was an old article in something called Bonome communication. Probably something something similar to magical communication.”
The article was about the dungeon capture and of course had all 5 names of the adventures listed there. But thats not what the principal wanted to talk about. She wanted to talk about Zephyr.
“Zephyr, I read an article that said ‘he’s usually quiet but during battle his eyes glow red with rage.”
Apparently the reporter was very enthusiastic, I wonder if Francesca will reveal things I told her not to one day.
“Apparently he was a great reporter.”
After that the principal had continued her research on her own and had begun to question the dungeons existence.
“But after what you said I understand now. The abyss has something to do with the dungeons correct?”
A see, apparently this person suspected I was involved with the abyss from the beginning.
“The red eyes of the fool. I don’t know if you know this Nito but that mask you wear, long ago those dwarves had red eyes by nature. It’s a symbol of regret and is worn to remind the world of their existence.”
“Dwarves?”
“You didn’t learn about it in class?”
I barely show up to class….
“Theres elves and beastmen too, their all different from humans.”
The principal sighed.
“Now, how am I going to deal with you?”
