The next day.
Today was Patrick’s match, we were called to the guest room. His game would be starting in a few minutes and even though I hadn’t talked to him in a while I still wanted to support him.
“Sorry…..”
“It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.”
“Lord nito isn’t participating in this match so I don’t care about it.”
I had brought the three of them there, because of the questionable recruitment methods I couldn’t separate from them.
“How are you doing Nem?”
“I ate a lot of meat yesterday so I’m ok.”
Although Nem looked depressed yesterday when she saw the large amount of meat placed in front of her at dinner her expression had completely changed. After a few minutes of wolfing down the meat Nem was back to her usual self.
I knocked on the door a few times before saying excuse me and opening it. Inside the room were too familiar people, Sabrina and Oswald. When we entered Sabrina didn’t say much but encouraged us to sit down. This was annoying but we sat down anyway.
“Do you know why we called you here?”
There wasn’t anyone around so Sabrina was being overly familiar.
“I’ll listen to what you have to say for now.”
I have no intention of answering that question. If you want to hear me say something you’re going to have to ask the question yourself.
“The two kings have not awakened yet although their condition seems to be getting better little by little. That said, it will still take some time.”
The first person to speak was Oswald but, why were they telling me this? I didn’t say anything, I knew they were suspicious of me but that’s fine. I know that they’re trying to figure out if I had something to do with it, I mean I did. But if you’re going to accuse me of something, show me the evidence.
“The investors in both countries that were supporting the schools have already expressed their unwillingness to continue doing so.”
That’s enough.
“If you don’t have any business with me I’m leaving.”
I stood up.
“You!”
Oswald suddenly shouted causing Nem to jump in surprise.
“You made a mess of things! Do you not understand that!?”
His shout echoed around the room as the two principals stared at me. I took my mask off for the time being.
“Do you have proof?”
I stared back into their eyes and asked. I no longer showed them any respect.
“What, did you feel my magic power?”
I know that they can’t feel my magic power let alone find traces of it. They just stared at me in anger.
“One is already red huh….”
Instead of replying Oswald muttered to himself.
“Did you come here to taunt me? You should be thanking me instead. If I’d wanted them dead they would have been dead.”
“I see, so it was you.”
Sabrina stared at me, it seemed like she was looking down at me I was already at my limit.
“What!?…… That isn’t what I said.”
I can’t keep quiet any longer. There should be more for them to be worrying about besides this.
“If I wasn’t there they would have kidnapped Nem! What is that! You’re worried about what I did?! The issue is entirely different. You guys should apologise!”
“Nito! Calm down!”
“Master!”
Toa and Nem tried to calm me down.
“You are mistaken.”
The old man said something that I couldn’t understand.
“You are the one at fault. That is obvious.”
“…….What?”
I was so angry that if I said anything all that would come out is a lot of swearing. I stood there trying to endure my anger.
“I have no idea what happened but you magically tortured them. What else can you call this but a crime.”
“I did exactly what they had done up to this point. How can you call that a sin!?”
Oswald sighed loudly, pausing before he began to preach to me.
“Both of them are kings, the kings in this world are forgiven for whatever they do because they hold power. As long as you keep the balance and don’t start a war you’ll be forgiven. The kings decide everything, if they decided they wanted to close the schools because of this incident it would not be impossible for them to do so.”
“Those guys! They treat beastmen like trash! They said that beastmen were something to eat, right in front of Nem!”
“That is the will of a king. I can’t do anything about that.”
What is this guy saying? A student was about the be abducted. That’s a deadly sin isn’t it!? Do you just allow that!? Allowing that means you’re allowing the slaughter of beastmen.
“Seriously… Even though I’ve said this much already…….They’re kidnapping students.”
Oswald looked straight into my eyes when he replied.
“That’s what a king is.”
“…….”
“ We have admission to keep these schools going. Nothing can change that, When you look at the possible sacrifices, One vs billions which one do you choose, that answer is obvious isn’t it!?”
Damn it.
“You think the survival of these schools will save billions of people?”
“Of course, there is no need to answer that.”
Rotten…. These guys are rotten.
“You are still young. You can’t make it in this world just on looks alone.”
These two are rotten down to their bone marrow. I was the one who misunderstood, I thought that they had been tolerating this because it was unavoidable but that wasn’t it.
“Lord Nito, this is how the world is. Everyone is selfish.”
It’s like Sufilia said. I thought I knew what the world was like but I couldn’t see it at all. They no longer feel guilty about the choices they make, they take it for granted. This world is the same as every other world, it’s rotten. I can’t save it anymore, someone has to purify it.

I was restraining them with telekinesis before I knew it.
“Kuh! Release me! Doing something like this!”
“Is that your answer!?”
“Don’t move. If you resist I will kill you. If you speak without permission, I will kill you. You have no authority here. Look at me, I’m the King now.”
I want to kill them, I want to kill them right now. If I wasn’t there that time then Nem would have been….. The more I imagine it the more I want to kill them. They were pretending not to see it and justified it as unavoidable but that doesn’t mean that they are forgiven.
“How many? How many beastmen have you let them take?”
“Nito! Let go of me! It’s not as if we like doing it! It was unavoidable.”
Lying with every breath, how rotten. They shouldn’t be alive.
“So? Do you think that makes you not guilty? Hahahahahahahaha! That’s great! Hahahahahahahahahah! What was it that you guys said to me just now? That I was the guilty one because I tortured them? That they weren’t sinners!? That the king was allowed to do anything!?”
“You’re a child, you don’t know because you’re still immature. That’s just the way the world is.”
“You want to bring age into this? This situation was caused by old people like you!”
I muttered as I threw them into the wall.

This was just a pretence, everything was a lie. The world was far more rotten than I expected.
“You two can’t be saved anymore.”
“Saved? Hohoho, What are you going to do?”
Not now, I should hold back.
“You? What do you intend to do about the tournament? My match is tomorrow and the additional match is after that. But, do you really think I’m going to work with you after what just happened?”
When I said that the two of them could only stare at me.
“Fu…. Relax, I’ll participate in the matches.”
“You can’t do anything about it. Someday you’ll realize that magic is not all-purpose. Power is better than magic, even if you want to save us we have no choice but to bow before power. That’s what it means to live.”
Those are just the words of the powerless. I don’t have to, I’ll change everything according to my will.
“I don’t want to understand something like that. What can someone who doesn’t believe in their own magic do? No……I see…kukukukukukuku”
“What’s so funny?”
Oswald questioned as he held his side.
“I wasn’t skeptical but now it’s clear that the abyss was right.”
“That abyss was right?”
“ It doesn’t matter if you dont know. You and that old brain of yours should just die in this magnificent school.”
I put my mask back on and left the room with Toa and the others following behind me albeit a little puzzled by what had happened.

We walked down the hallway for a bit without talking. I was filled with anger and didn’t know what to say in the first place. But what should I do now?
I came to a stop.
“Nito?
“Master?”
“Lord Nito?”
“…..”
I pulled, saint’s wrath and a rare class sword out of storage.
“Sufilia, You use this.”
“This is….”
I handed the white staff to Sufilia.
“Saint’s wrath, anyone who wields it is able to use intermediate level holy magic.”
A confused Sufilia took that staff.
“Nem, here.”
I handed the sword to Nem.
“It’s not particularly valuable but be patient with it for now. No…Wait…”
I have magic that can reverse anything and make it stronger! Just before I handed it over i stared down at the sword and used Mischief inversion {Extreme} on it.
“…I see.”
The blade of the sword disappeared and in its place was something like a gold rod. It no longer resembled a sword at all. There was a ring under the handle that was covered in innumerable sharp protrusions and it was entirely black.
“Nem, Take this?”
I said it questioningly as I wasn’t entirely sure if Nem could handle it as it was quite large.
Nem picked up the rod before she answered and it shrunk to match her height. It was still a little big but Nem could handle it this way.
“Okay, I’ll hold on to it.”
Despite it being taller than her she was handling it with a single hand.
“Nem, I have something else for you. Today I will teach you the [Beast king Fighting school].”
The three of them were startled by that.
“Nem is strong but it’s no good like you are now. I will do everything I can, including teaching you sword skills that way if something like what happened yesterday happens again, you can deal with it on your own.”
This is a good idea.
I gave Sufilia that staff just in case but she’ll probably be fine. Shes not as strong as Nem but I doubt she’ll be attacked. Toa has the snake sword and there shouldn’t be a problem because she is stronger than Nem is now. But I should still teach her swordmanship. It would be good if we could all learn together.
“For now, I will be able to protect all of you at any time. But in the future the three of you may be targeted when I’m not around. When that happens I want you to have the power to solve it yourselves to some extent.”
The three of them looked as though they understood.
“Let’s go to the arent so I can teach Nem swordsmanship. Toa do you want to join us?”
“I’m fine, I can already use sword skills.”
Toa had mastered the demon sword school already.
“In that case, Sufilia can you use a sword? You want to learn as well?”
“I was trained in the sword by my father from an early age. Although I gave it up when I became a researcher. I should still be able to use one without any issue but this staff is enough for me right now. Do you mind if I disassemble it to investigate how it works?”
“Disassemble?”
“Yes, as a senior alchemist dismantling a tool is as easy as making one.”
There are so many jobs in this world that I can hardly keep track. I knew alchemists can make magical tools though but can they all do what Sufilia can? Well, whatever lets just leave it be for now.
“ Yeah, Do whatever you want with it. It’s yours now.”
“Thank you very much.”
The easiest solution would be to use strong monsters to power level them but the dungeon isn’t creating monsters anymore. Of course as the owner of the dungeon I can make monsters appear but after you kill it your level won’t rise anymore. As such we have no choice but to go out and raise their levels ourselves. I looked up at the sky as i walked thinking about the future. For now let’s just teach Nem what I can and then-”

I noticed something.
“Nito? What’s the matter? Weren’t we going to the training ground?”
“Ah, sorry….”
I had stopped for a moment, I had felt a magic power that I recognized at the gate.

We came across a three way path, you could either go down the stairs to the right, go down the corridor on the left, or go straight and take the stairs down a little further.
“Let’s go this way.”
I suggested going left.
“ Huh? But that would be a detour?”
“I feel like this way is best.”
“Really?”
All three of them were confused but they followed me left without asking anymore questions. I wanted to avoid them as much as possible, that was all.
“Nito? What have you been thinking about? If something is troubling you, you can tell me.”
“Huh?”
“Master…..Is it Nem’s fault? Nem’s…….Nem’s…..”
Nem began to squirm uncomfortably. Are they worried about me?
“…..”
Two of them were looking at me oddly.
“Wa!”
I picked Nem up and put her on my shoulders.
“Alright, let’s go!”
Thinking about it won’t help, Im an adventurer so it doesn’t matter where I go. I have a lot of things to think about and to be honest my anger doesn’t go away that easily. But the most important thing is to stay calm and think things through.
I’m enjoying my life as a student but it looks like it might be the right time. We were in the school corridor and I could see the sky from out the window. I found myself wondering how many more times I would be able to look up at the sky as a student.
