Shameen was traveling all alone, this journey was really taking a toll on her. Her only motive was to reach the gateway..her fragile body was not supporting her..she was preserving her soul power , she knew that once she enters the gateway then she will need her soul power.
She knew Raj Guru could see her, but she also knew that he would not use his soul power much. She took a break, tied her horse near a lake and closed her eyes and sat cross-legged. She replenished her strength. Suddenly there was moment in bushes, she sensed a small aura, may be a rabbit.
She quickly stood up, and threw her dagger, it hit the mark followed by a shrill animal cry. She went and saw a dead Rabbit..she cleaned it, and started skinning the Rabbit. She took the name of her devil deity and made an offering of the dead Rabbit by cutting a cross mark on the belly and drawing blood. She circled the carcass three times anti clock wise.She closed her eyes for few minutes and as she chanted something, green flames erupted and burnt the meat. She opened her eyes and took the meat and ate it slowly.
Each bite helped her regain much needed strength. She put her hand in the satchel and removed a wine skin. She gulped her wine and thought to herself,. ' once the scepter comes to my hand, I will become invincible and immortal ! I need my strength to counter Raj Guru and that wretched sorcerer.. I don't know how many more will I have to face till I stand on the pinnacle..once I reach the top.. everyone will bow down to me!!'
She slowly felt her body relax, she felt like taking a nap.
She took out a blanket from her satchel and spread it on the grass, she used the satchel as a pillow and fell asleep.
She looked like a fragile fairy in her sleep..there was a noise of hooves, Shameen was in deep sleep..the noise didn't wake her up..
There was a handsome young man who was riding the horse, he saw a clearing and entered the same..as he came towards the leke, he pulled the reins of his horse making it stop suddenly..he looked at Shameen who was sleeping peacefully..he gasped and said, ' is that an angel who dropped from heavens!' he slowly descended the horse and approached her..she didn't move...he kept circling around her and stared at her and said,,' a maiden so beautiful..all alone in this forest..I hope she is ok,' he bent towards her face and heard her steadily breathing, he wanted to confirm if she was alright or not..
He sighed and said, ' it's my duty to protect such a beautiful lady, I wonder when she will wake up..' he got up and turned around..he felt two arms grab his neck from behind and the person holding him drew his neck down wards in a locking position and a beautiful voice said , ' don't move or I will slit your throat!'
