That day. Elena took him to the library in the corner of the mansion.

The walls were covered with books, and I felt as if I had wandered into another world.

“There are so many books. Have you read all of this?”

“Of course. I’m holed up alone in these mountains. I have all the time in the world.”

She’s read that many books, I see. Elena’s personality is mature in spite of her age, which makes sense.

“This is what I need you to do for today.”

Elena led me to the stacks at the back of the library.

When I entered, I couldn’t help but cough. There seemed to be a lot of dust in the room.

There were so many books piled up haphazardly on the desk that it would be difficult to put them back.

“There are a lot of difficult books here.”

He dusted off the book and picked up the nearest one. There was something written on the cover, but he couldn’t make out what he was. Termito can’t read.

“I’m ashamed to admit that I don’t use this room very often. It’s just been sitting there since I last read it.”

He could see Elena’s cheeks flush with embarrassment.

I almost stared at her and turned my gaze away.

“It’s dusty, so I’ll open the window.”

“Ah.”

When Termito tried to open the curtains, the sun shone in from outside. Elena hurriedly hit under the desk.

“I, I’m sorry.”

Termito closed the curtains. Elena’s weak skin made her vulnerable to direct sunlight. He reflected on his thoughtlessness.

“No, it’s okay. I’m sorry you have to deal with my troublesome constitution.”

Elena came out of her desk, looking embarrassed. She turned serious, trying to change the subject.

“This room stores grimoires. I don’t need them anymore because I’ve learned all the magic, but they’re expensive. I don’t want to throw them away, so I keep them here.”

“Grimoires!?”

He can’t help but raise his voice.

A grimoire is a book that contains knowledge about magic. It depends on your aptitude, but you can learn magic by reading the book. Many famous adventurers are able to use powerful magic, which is why they are so expensive and difficult to obtain.

There were so many of them, haphazardly placed in front of him.

He gulped down on his saliva.

“You can read them if you’d like.”

“Are you sure!?”

“Of course. They’re useless to me.”

Unable to contain my excitement, I picked up the book and opened it. I read through the pages from corner to corner. I could see that there were letters written there, but I had no idea what they were.

Elena, who could not bear to see the smoke rising from Termito’s head, reached out a helping head.

“I can teach you to read if you’d like?”

“…Is that okay?”

“I don’t mind. However, I’m a bit strict when I teach. Be prepared for that.”

“P, please be gentle with me….”

After that, while Elena and I talked, we started cleaning.

I couldn’t open the windows or curtains because of Elena’s physical condition, and the stacks were filled with dusty air.

As a painstaking measure, she opened the window on the north side that doesn’t get any sunlight and she used wind magic to blow the dust outside.

“This is magic…!”

Termito’s eyes sparkle as he watches the dust being blown away by the wind.

“Is this the first time you’ve seen magic in action?”

“Yes. Magic is amazing!”

Elena’s smiles as she watches the impressed Termito. I don’t feel bad.”

Elena is in a better mood than her words. The power of the magic increases with her enthusiasm.

The force of the wind increases, and a gust of wind blows through the room. The pages of the grimoire on the desk were flipped by the wind.

Just when it was getting hard to keep his eyes open, Termito saw it. The wind was trying to pull up Elena’s skirt.

The lining of her skirt peeked out as if it was in a hurry. Her white, spotless white thighs burned into his retina.

Almost there. Just a little more. Just as his patience reached its limit and Termito was about to lower his posture, the momentum of the wind rapidly weakened.

“Elena-san?”

“That’s enough ventilation for now. I don’t want to turn it up too high and have you get into trouble again.”

Elena looks down at Termito.

Because of his previous actions, Termito could only laugh.

Then they set to work cleaning the room. Elena asked as she moved her hands.

“If you were to learn magic, what kind of magic would you like to be able to use first?”

As if he hadn’t waited long enough, Termito goes on to talk.

“I’ve thought about it a lot. If I learn fire magic, it will be useful when I’m camping, and if I learn lightning magic, I might be able to do effective attacks against monsters. But first of all, I’d like to learn a magic that makes it rain.”

“Rain?”

A question mark appeared in Elena’s head at the unexpected answer.

“Why?”

“You have weak skin, Elena. If it rains, you can go outside without a parasol.”

“I see. But then I’ll need an umbrella instead of a parasol.”

“Ah…”

Termito’s face turned red.

“I, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. I’m glad you feel that way.”

“Elena-san….”

While the two of them were talking, they finished in a flash.

“Thanks for your hard work. Thanks to you, it’s completely clean. So I’ll give you the right to be the first to take a bath again today.”

“That’s…Elena-san was doing her best. I only did what I was being told. If it weren’t for you, it would have taken much longer.”

Elena, sensing that they were going to end up in a loop again, made a proposal to Termito.

“Let’s do this then. We both did a great job today, so we’ll both go in together.”

Elena’s suggestion made my heart beat faster. In the past, I had to leave the bath in the middle of the day because I made a mess. After that, I had thought we would never take a bath together. For that reason, I was inexplicably nervous.

“…Is that okay?”

“I don’t mind. I’m sure Teru will want to make up for the disappointing result last time.”

The memory of the last time came back to Termito’s mind.

“I, I’ll be fine this time. I’ll endure it properly!”

The desperate appeal of Termito was so funny that she couldn’t help but smile. Elena put her mouth close to his ear. A fresh, warm breath went on his ear.

“Does that mean you want me to touch you again?”

“Ah…”

Termito blushes as he realizes his mistake.

Elena smiles at him like an innocent girl, as if she has had enough of tormenting him.

“I’m just joking.”

As Elena left the room, Termito could only watch in dismay.

“…Wh, where did you get that joke from?”

Did she joke about touching me? Or did she joke about us taking a bath together? I don’t know, but the thing I do know is that Elena will continue to tease me for the rest of my life.
