The intense argument reached its climax, showing no signs of stopping.

Mrs. Nick’s movements were a bit exaggerated, causing the treasures in her arms to clatter onto the grass.

With a mix of embarrassment and anger on her face, the youngest daughter was about to say something when the eldest son-in-law, who had remained kneeling, turned to her in a flustered manner and pleaded, “Could you please be quiet and not add more trouble?”

The youngest daughter’s words were trapped in her throat as she bit her lip in grievance. Her eyes turned red, and she silently accused the eldest son-in-law of incompetence and weakness.

At this moment, Mrs. Nick stood on the moral high ground, looking down on them in a victorious posture. She glanced in a certain direction and said, “It’s not impossible for me to help you conceal this.”

The youngest daughter looked up in surprise, while the eldest son-in-law quickly turned his body and replied, “Thank you, madam. I knew your kindness matches your beauty.”

“Hmph,” Mrs. Nick’s eyes flashed with a calculating light. “Which one of you is willing to accompany me to the golden room?”

Both the eldest son-in-law and the youngest daughter were startled by her words, and the eldest son-in-law even trembled in fear.

“But,” he said anxiously, “it is forbidden to enter that room. Didn’t Mrs. Oude disappear after going in? That room must be cursed, we should not go inside.”

Mrs. Nick: “It’s just a trick the resort owner is using to scare people. How could curses be real? It’s all fabricated by those theists to manipulate minds. As an atheist, I’ve never believed in such things. I only believe in the power of human determination. If I want something, I will fight for it myself.”

The eldest son-in-law looked at the youngest daughter with a troubled expression, but she immediately averted her gaze, refusing to get involved.

“Well, maybe I should go back, wake up Mr. Nick and your spouses, and tell them what I saw today. If any of them find out, both of you will be miserable,” Mrs. Nick threatened.

The youngest daughter had no choice but to face Mrs. Nick once again.

“Here’s the deal,” Mrs. Nick smiled after scanning both of them for a few seconds. “You don’t need to give me an immediate answer. I’ll give you a day to consider. Let me know your decision after tomorrow’s dinner.”

“Actually, I’m not a bad person,” Mrs. Nick chuckled. “I’m on your side. Compared to you tow, I can’t stand your spouses. One is as foolish as a pig, and the other is as ugly as a donkey. When I first joined this family, I was shocked. I thought you two were a couple. But turns out, a flower was planted in cow dung.”

“If you’re willing to help me see what’s inside the Golden Room, not only will I not expose you, but I will also help you keep it a secret from them. Little daughter, I can tell that you still have feelings for your brother-in-law, right?”

The youngest daughter blushed, hiding her pointed chin in her neck.

Mrs. Nick’s expression softened. “You two can go back for now and think carefully about the feasibility of our deal.”

The youngest daughter and the eldest son-in-law exchanged a glance, quickly stood up in a fluster, and hurriedly left.

As she watched the two of them sneak away, Mrs. Nick quickly bent down to pick up the dropped treasures from the ground. She walked swiftly to a secluded spot behind a stone, her graceful figure blending into the darkness as a blurry shadow.

Behind the stone, the shadow fumbled for a while. When Mrs. Nick reappeared, her hands were filled with even more items.

She carried two heavy bags of treasures, which were so weighty that she had to bend over to carry them.

There was a crisp metallic sound as Mrs. Nick carefully counted the contents of the bags before letting out a sigh of relief. She murmured softly, “Fortunately, my hiding place remained undiscovered. However, it seems that this place isn’t very safe either.”

Suddenly, a sound of flapping wings came from above, startling Mrs. Nick. She raised her head vigilantly to see what was happening.

Hovering above her head was a crow that blended seamlessly into the dark night. If it hadn’t been for the flapping sound that broke the silence, she wouldn’t have noticed its presence.

“Oh, just a creature,” Mrs. Nick breathed a sigh of relief, but soon fear overcame her.

The crow circled above Mrs. Nick’s head, cawing twice and tilting its head down, seemingly watching her with its blood-red eyes.

Though it was merely an animal, Mrs. Nick couldn’t help but feel a chill from the depths of her soul. She shivered and had no intention of staying in this place for even a moment longer.

She quickly put the heavy treasures back behind the stone, then lifted her head again, only to find that the almost invisible creature had vanished.

She let out a sigh of relief and lowered her gaze from the sky to the front.

A pair of blood-red eyes suddenly appeared before her without any warning.

“Ah!” Mrs. Nick screamed in terror, her body falling backward and landing heavily on the ground.

The crow silently landed in front of her, perched on the large stone. It stared at her with its blood-red eyes that resembled red agate.

Seeing Mrs. Nick fall, the crow spread its wings and excitedly cawed twice, as if mocking her cowardice, exhibiting an uncannily human-like behavior.

“You beast!” Mrs. Nick furrowed her brow suddenly and angrily got up from the ground, wildly scratching at the crow with her arms. “Even you, a mere beast, dare to ridicule me?”

Facing Mrs. Nick’s frenzied attack, the crow simply flapped its wings and effortlessly dodged her assault. It didn’t fly away but continued to hover above her head, provoking her with its cawing.

Suddenly, something fell from the crow onto Mrs. Nick’s head.

Mrs. Nick froze and reached out to touch it with bewilderment.

“Ah, it’s bird droppings! You wretched creature! You’re finished, and I’m going to kill you!” Like a ignited firework, she went mad, raising her hand to grab the crow perched on her head.

The crow emitted a short yet prolonged quaking laughter, easily evading all of Mrs. Nick’s attacks under the cover of darkness. It then flew leisurely towards a certain direction, continuing to taunt Mrs. Nick.

In her current state of anger-induced delusion, Mrs. Nick only had one thought left—to catch this damned creature.

She desperately chased the crow in the darkness, venting her frustration without any outlet.

The crow toyed with Mrs. Nick for quite some time before cawing twice, flapping its wings, and finally flying away.

After seeing the crow depart, Mrs. Nick regained her sanity. She hastily adjusted her clothes and retraced her steps back the way she came.

Ba Lixin and Padi exchanged glances, silently blending their bodies into the grass.

Once Mrs. Nick had gone far away, they emerged from the grass.

————————-

In the live broadcast room:

[From a certain perspective, Mrs. Nick is a realistic person. She knows men are unreliable, so she focuses on making money.]

[Is the youngest daughter fooled by PUA? I used to feel sorry for her, thinking her husband treated her poorly. But now, looking at the person she is having an affair with, isn’t he even worse? Not only is he a gold-digger, but he also lacks any integrity. It’s precisely because he’s such a spineless waste that he dares to seduce the youngest daughter. The youngest daughter really… the pitiable have their detestable aspects as well.]

[So, the eldest son-in-law’s vice is “sloth”?]

[Most likely, and what about the youngest daughter?]

[Infidelity?]

[Possibly?]

[Mrs. Nick is greedy, right? While focusing on making money seriously isn’t wrong, resorting to any means necessary isn’t a good habit, right?]

[But that crow just now, isn’t it a bit eerie?]

[Indeed, it felt like it had become human. It was too intelligent, so unlike an ordinary crow.]

——————

Bai Lixin approached the spot where Mrs. Nick had hidden her treasures, only to discover a larger space behind the stone.

The stone was concave inside, and beneath the concave stone, concealed by the grass, there was a small hidden door.

The hidden door was also made of stone material, perfectly blending with the surrounding stones. It would go unnoticed if one didn’t look closely.

There were traces of slight movement on the hidden door. Bai Lixin tried pushing it, and it effortlessly swung open.

Behind the hidden door was a tiny space, so small that it could only accommodate a small child curled up inside.

All the treasures Mrs. Nick had obtained from the resort were piled up in this small space.

The back of the stone faced away from the moonlight, so apart from being able to see the space inside, the walls were hidden in darkness, appearing black when viewed.

Bai Lixin wasn’t interested in Mrs. Nick’s treasures. Instead, he found this small space peculiar.

How did Mrs. Nick manage to find such a concealed space?

He easily took out the treasures that Mrs. Nick had hidden and placed them aside. After surveying his surroundings, his gaze suddenly fell on the bewildered angel.

Bai Lixin smiled slightly at the angel and beckoned to him from a distance. “Come here for a moment.”

The angel: “…”

Why does the young man’s expression seem strange?

Perplexed, the angel walked up to Bai Lixin and asked, “What’s the matter? Do you need me to do something?”

In the instant he walked by, the dark hole instantly brightened.

Satisfied, Bai Lixin smiled and said, “You don’t have to do anything, just stand here.”

The angel: “???”

Am I, a noble angel, being treated as a mere light bulb?

—————

In the live broadcast room:

[Haha, God Xin’s thought process.]

[I offer to be your dear kissing partner, and you treat me like a light bulb? Is that appropriate?]

[Just making the most of everything.]

[Everything? What thing? A huge thing?]

[Perhaps a massive thing?]

[True-Tool man-Light Bulb Boss.]
