As the sun set, the previously motionless resort underwent changes.

Leaves floating in the air swayed gently, and the sound of the wind returned to their ears.

The static scenery began to shift.

However, the movement of these objects was very illogical. The leaves did not fall to the ground but seemed to be flowing backward in time.

Everything appeared to be rewinding, except for the moon still rising overhead.

As the landscape reversed, something slowly emerged from the ground.

Suddenly, Elizabeth screamed in horror as a black snake crawled out from under her feet and entangled her ankle.

Startled, she kicked the snake away and hurriedly moved away.

However, more and more black snakes emerged from the ground, appearing like mushrooms after rain.

They writhed and coiled around the feet of the group, seemingly searching for something.

Elizabeth and the others turned pale with fear, huddling together behind Bai Lixin and the composed Hongyue.

Emil couldn’t help but complaining comment, “Is the movie rewinding now? Bai Lixin, please figure out a way. I don’t want to go through this place again.”

Hongyue pointed to the direction of the backyard and said, “Look, the statue of the Holy Mother is coming out!”

Bai Lixin and Emil looked up and saw the statue of the Holy Mother rising from the backyard, with wet soil still clinging to its head.

But beside the statue, countless black snakes had gathered as if they were called, coiling around the statue with their heads facing outward, looking at their surroundings vigilantly.

Emil swallowed hard, asking, “What do we do?”

Hongyue replied, “Let’s not worry about that. Let’s go there first, and I’ll solve it!”

She made a motion of taking something from midair, which looked strange as she pulled at empty air and loneliness.

“Hiss, oh my goodness,” Hongyue awkwardly put her hand down, “I can’t take out the props and weapons from my backpack.”

Emil teased, “Cool Sister, did you just realize that?”

He had tried as soon as the system was activated, and though he could see the system interface, he couldn’t access the backpack function.

“It must be a limitation of the movie, just like how modern weapons would be out of place in ancient settings,” Emil guessed before asking Hongyue, “Cool Sister, are you still solving it?”

Hongyue: “…”

She looked around and suddenly turned to Bai Lixin, asking, “Bai Lixin, where’s the big boss?”

From the beginning, it was only the three of them. When searching for the passage, the big boss had set off with Bai Lixin, but now only Bai Lixin had returned.

Bai Lixin replied, “He’ll be here soon.”

As he spoke, the earth suddenly trembled violently, and the ground in the direction of the apple orchard quickly split open, and something black and grim emerged.

Hongyue exclaimed, “What on earth is that ugly sheep?”

Emil asked, “Perhaps it’s the copy boss?”

“Ahh! Ahh! Ahh!”

The screams of misery resounded again. Hongyue looked in the direction of the sound and saw Elizabeth and the others being surrounded and overwhelmed by the black snakes, struggling to kick the snakes away.

“Save us!” Mr. Nick desperately tried to shake off the black snakes, his pupils trembling, and his face pale.

Elizabeth and the male actor were not in any better state.

The male actor quickly kicked away the snakes on his body and pulled Elizabeth as they hurried to the stairs, avoiding the snakes’ attacks.

Mr. Nick followed suit.

For some reason, when they saw the three leaving, the black snakes quickly followed them, pursuing them relentlessly.

As the black snakes caught up again, Bai Lixin held the quiet baby in his arms tightly.

Suddenly, a sharp pain struck. The baby’s chubby face crumpled and he started wailing.

The loud voice instantly silenced everything, and the monsters, be the black snakes or black sheep, seemed to have been paused, frozen in place.

Without hesitation, Bai Lixin swiftly emerged from the sea of black snakes, rushing toward the back of the Holy Mother statue.

Everything remained still for a second.

After that second, all the monsters roared angrily at the sky as if they had gone insane, pursuing Bai Lixin with a vengeance.

However, within those one or two seconds, Bai Lixin had already reached the back of the Holy Mother statue.

As he opened the hidden compartment behind the statue, the black snakes caught up.

They coiled around Bai Lixin, layer upon layer like hornets attacking him.

In the time it took to open the compartment, Bai Lixin was engulfed by the swarm of black snakes.

Bai Lixin tightly pressed his lips together. With one hand, he raised the baby high, while the other pulled the black snakes away from him.

As the number of black snakes increased, two more pairs of hands joined in.

Hongyue now had a serious expression as she used both hands to fiercely dig into the snakes, cursing all the while, “It’s just because I believe in Buddha now. Otherwise, I’d have soaked all of these in alcohol and made Yuantian drink it every day.”

Emil was shocked at Hongyue’s digging speed, “But why would you give the president to drink?”

Hongyue’s expression slightly changed, “Ahem, that’s an adult matter. You don’t need to know. Bai Lixin, will you… ah, forget it, you won’t need it.”

Bai Lixin: “…”

‘Don’t, I would really thank you if you don’t.’

Emil took a moment to realize what Hongyue meant. His fingers trembled slightly and narrowly avoided being bitten by the black snakes: “…”

‘In this group, I am the only normal one.’

In the cinema hall, several people sat on red chairs, nervously watching the huge screen.

On the screen, only the last scene was left. After Bai Lixin’s prompt, the others had found the passages one after another and left the movie world.

Hongyue’s words entered their ears without warning, and everyone immediately looked at Song Yuantian with a scrutinizing and thoughtful expression.

So President Song needed a boost?

However, Hongyue really cared about her boyfriend.

Song Yuantian’s eyes flickered. After noticing everyone’s gaze, he quietly opened a private chat window.

Song Yuantian: [Hongyue!]

———————-

Inside the movie, Hongyue’s eyes drifted for a moment, and Song Yuantian received a private message.

Hongyue: [What’s wrong, Tiantian?]

Song Yuantian blushed, and his pale cheeks turned red: [We’ve all come out, and only you guys are left. We’re now in the cinema watching your clearance.]

Hongyue: [That’s great. We should be close too. Wait for me, darling, I’ll come out to find you right away.]

Song Yuantian’s expression became even more embarrassed: [I mean, we are watching your movie scene. Pay a little attention.]

Inside the movie, Hongyue suddenly looked up and glanced around: [Oh, I understand. You want me to be more discreet.]

Song Yuantian coughed lightly: [Yes.]

Hongyue: [Got it. I’ll be more careful.]

Song Yuantian paused for a moment, then blushed and sent another message to Hongyue: [Uh, sister, do you really think… I need to drink snake wine?]

He felt a little guilty.

Hongyue: [Snake wine nourishes Yin and replenishes Yang. You’ve been seriously deficient in your health these years; I could hardly recognize you. You used to be adorable and had a fair and tender face. Of course I hope you can recover your previous healthy state.]

Song Yuantian secretly sighed with relief, but the next moment, he became nervous again: [Oh, I see. So, am no longer good-looking? Will sister not like me anymore? Sister, I’ve really been taking good care of my health lately, eating and sleeping on time, no insomnia.]

[Please don’t dislike me, sister.]

[What are you saying?] Hongyue quickly replied, [How could I dislike you? I’m worried about you. Have you been resting well recently? When we get back to the game lobby, I’ll thoroughly check on you. If I find out you’re lying, I’ll punish you.]

Song Yuantian’s eyes flickered, and he quietly replied: [Okay, I got it. Sister, take care, and I’ll wait for you to come out.]

Hongyue: [Good boy.]

The three used all their strength, and finally managed to create a small space by pulling the entrance open.

But at this moment, their bodies were almost buried by the black snakes.

Bai Lixin quickly caught the precious gap and without hesitation, placed the crying baby into it.

The moment the baby was placed inside, the three of them were buried by the black snakes simultaneously.

The air was still again.

What was once a beautiful backyard had now become a paradise for black snakes.

Wherever their gazes fell, they saw an expanse of winding and coiling black snakes, like a sea of darkness.

And the three buried in the black sea remained motionless, their figures even disappearing from the screen.

The people in the cinema hall anxiously stood up from their chairs. Xia Chi shouted in a desperate rage at the owner of the cinema hall, “Where are they?!”

The old man tapped the ground gently with the head of his cane and praised, “They’ve done well to make it this far. Originally, they could have safely left by finding the passage, but they insisted on taking a dead-end path and trying to break this world.”

“They want to dig up the ancestors’ graves, but others won’t allow them to act so recklessly.”

“This is not only a lesson for them but also a warning to others who come later.”

“Don’t attempt things beyond your capabilities.”

Lin Jue retorted, “Stop spouting nonsense. Do you think the woman our president has set his eyes on would easily die? You’re the one who’s playing beyond your capabilities. Foolish old man, it seems you really don’t know how terrifying we can be, sometimes even more monstrous than monsters themselves.”

Suddenly, there was an explosion in the movie, attracting everyone’s attention back to the screen.

In the movie scene, an angel with eight large wings gracefully descended amidst moonlight. He hovered in midair, flapping his powerful wings.

With every beat of the angel’s wings, the black snakes on the ground were blown away. Gradually, the three buried figures appeared on the screen.

The angel let Bai Lixin hold his neck and grasped the other two with one hand, effortlessly lifting the three people from the heap of black snakes.

As he flew towards the rooftop, the angel apologized patiently, “I’m sorry; I came a bit late.”

Bai Lixin asked, “Is it done?”

The angel replied, “Yes, right after I finished, I immediately came back.”

Emil couldn’t understand what the two were communicating: “What did you do?”

At this moment, the angel landed on the rooftop.

Standing high above the roof, Emil saw a blazing fire in the distance, the flames were surging with green and dense smoke. Wherever it passed, everything was licked clean, turning into a pool of blood-red.

Hongyue was astonished, “The angel set fire to the mountain? Is that something an angel should do?”

After speaking, she looked around with a lost expression, found what she thought was the angle of the camera, and said seriously, “Dear audience, this is a friendly reminder, setting fire to the mountain is wrong. Protecting natural property is protecting our lives and health. Refrain from all fire-starting activities, especially children. Please don’t imitate.”

“Don’t stick to the small stuff at critical moments,” the angel said seriously, “I burned down that cemetery, so those souls should be able to rest now.”

Bai Lixin gazed intently at the distant flames, “Thank you for your hard work.”

“You burned down my cemetery?!” the black sheep finally realized what was wrong. It spun in place in fury. It was fat but agile, charging like a meteor hammer at the three people, “Bastards, cunning humans, I’ll devour you!”

As the black sheep charged toward them, the sound of a baby’s crying erupted from the backyard infested with black snakes. The cry was so loud it was capable of shattering the sky.

And this time, his cries were no longer something that could be easily masked.
