Bai Lixin staggered back two steps before steadying himself, and a light, cold object landed in his hand.

Dijia’s voice came from afar, “It’s after me. I’ll divert its attention. My car is outside the Fei residence gate, take it and leave as soon as possible.”

As he spoke, Dijia ran into the deep woods.

Seeing this, the white-cloaked scarecrow changed direction and chased after Dijia. In no time, they became two small dots in Bai Lixin’s sight.

Bai Lixin lowered his head and found a car key in his hand. The symbol on the key closely resembled the pitchfork the scarecrow held moments ago.

He silently pocketed the key, but didn’t walk towards the main gate nor did he pursue Dijia.

He wasn’t worried about Dijia. He knew his husband’s abilities well. Considering Black Fog’s abilities yesterday, this white scarecrow was no match for Dijia.

Moreover, he couldn’t chase.

The little black furry monster demanded that he couldn’t leave this area before 2 a.m. and there were still several hours to go.

Bai Lixin turned his eyes, and his target fell on Fei Yino, who was in a miserable state not far away.

Fei Yino sneered in the direction Dijia left, then rushed to Bai Lixin, “Xiao Tou, come with me.”

The young man looked frightened and timid, and his eyes shimmered with moisture. “What’s going on?”

Fei Yino glanced around warily, “There’s no time to explain. Come with me first, I’ll take you to a safe place and tell you what’s happening.”

After hesitating for two seconds, the young man looked at the lifeless white-masked man on the ground, and nodded silently, “Okay.”

Fei Yino then led Bai Lixin forward.

As Bai Lixin guessed, Fei Yino didn’t take him away from the Fei residence. Instead, they circled around this house for a considerable distance before finally stopping at a spot along the back wall.

The place looked no different from elsewhere. There was a brick wall blocking their way, covered in dense ivy.

The ivy which looked vibrant green during the day, appeared eerie and mysterious in the dark atmosphere of the night.

Separated by a wall, occasional screams could be heard from beyond the fence.

Bai Lixin looked at Fei Yino.

The man with somewhat disheveled hair seemed accustomed to such sounds. His expression remained unchanged, and he reached out to push aside the ivy, and placed his palm on a spot hidden by the ivy.

There was an electronic sound, and Bai Lixin looked over in surprise as an invisible door slowly appeared on the ordinary brick wall.

It turned out to be a fingerprint recognition electronic door.

Their current position perfectly matched the coordinates provided by s419M. Obviously, this was where Fei Yino usually stayed.

Impressive, an invisible electronic door with fingerprint recognition. Even if he had found it, he might not have been able to enter smoothly.

Fei Yino pushed the door open, “Xiao Tou, come in. This is my secret base.”

Bai Lixin remained calm, said “Oh” obediently, and followed Fei Yino inside.

The doorway extended downwards, and there were electric lights on both sides of the door, so one didn’t have to worry about it being too dark to see the path.

As soon as the two entered, Fei Yino pressed the electronic controller on the wall, and the invisible door behind them closed.

The stairs extended down for about three meters, equivalent to a floor’s height.

As they descended, Fei Yino gestured for silence, probably fearing that the monsters on the ground might hear the movement below.

They moved quietly, and the occasional sound of footsteps could still be heard from above.

There was a security door at the bottom of the stairs. Bai Lixin glanced at it, and saw another fingerprint password lock.

Fei Yino pressed his fingerprint skillfully, opened the security door, and walked in first.

As Bai Lixin entered, the lights inside turned on, and after a dazzling brightness, he saw the entire room.

It was a rather small room, filled with modern technology. Large screens lined the entire wall, each displaying different scenes.

Various angles of the courtyard, the hall, the corridor, and room perspectives, among others.

Facing the large screens was a black leather sofa. On the table in front of the sofa was an open package of biscuits and mineral water. This sofa seemed to be Fei Yino’s regular spot.
When Bai Lixin saw this sofa, he remembered the long sofa in that hidden room and the person on it.
He subconsciously raised his head to look for the surveillance of that room, but after scanning the large screens, he couldn’t locate it.

Apart from surveillance, the room had a double bed for resting, a refrigerator, kitchen, and a bathroom.

With these amenities, Fei Yino could stay here for the entire day.

“Take a seat anywhere. The walls here are soundproofed, so you don’t have to worry about being heard from outside,” Fei Yino was now calm and composed, he took a bottle of mineral water from the refrigerator and handed it to Bai Lixin, saying softly, “You must have been frightened. Have some water to calm your nerves.”

Bai Lixin’s eyes flickered as he huddled against the armrest of the sofa, “What’s going on?”

Fei Yino sighed, “The Fei family is cursed.”

Bai Lixin remained silent, maintaining his persona as “Xiao Tou.”

Fei Yino continued, “I don’t know when it started, but the Fei family got trapped in a cycle.”

“After a hunting event, sometimes after a few years, sometimes after a few months, time rewinds to a few days before the banquet.”

Bai Lixin: “…”

‘A time loop.’

He guessed this after seeing so many players’ heads.

“Father did something not so good to you,” Fei Yino pondered for a moment, “and maybe that’s why he’s facing retribution. Along with the start of this cycle, there are two monsters with pitchforks.”

“When Father gathers everyone at the Fei residence, and the guests reach a certain emotional peak, those two monsters descend from the sky and start hunting. They’ll kill all the masked people until the last one is dead, then they’ll come after us.”

Bai Lixin: “Will we be hunted too?”

Fei Yino nodded, “Yes, everyone will be hunted.”

“But from a certain point, I found that hiding here can evade the monsters’ pursuit. These monsters won’t stay at the Fei residence forever, they will leave at four o’clock in the morning. As long as we endure here until they leave, we can survive.”

“It doesn’t matter if the death cycle restarts. I retain memories of this cycle as long as I don’t die. My memories persist.”

Bai Lixin: “…”

So, that’s why Fei Yino remembers so much.

“I’ve only brought you here, Xiao Tou,” Fei Yino suddenly looked at Bai Lixin affectionately, “not even Father and Li Manyu. They don’t deserve it. Only my Xiao Tou is worthy of this treatment from me.”

Bai Lixin blinked, “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me,” Fei Yino said softly, “never thank me. I’m satisfied as long as I see you happy.”

Bai Lixin: “…”

‘Late expressions of affection are cheaper than grass.’

He looked at the screen. Among the numerous screens, the confident masked people from moments ago were now shrinking and hiding in narrow corners.

Since their masks were originally white, Bai Lixin couldn’t see their pale faces. However, although the expressions on their masks varied, all displayed fear and terror.

The hunter was hiding like a mouse crossing the street, fearing that the ferocious cat would find him.

On one screen, the scarecrow in a black cloak, resembling the Grim Reaper, raised the pitchfork and ruthlessly thrust it into the body of a masked man in front of him. The sharp pitchfork instantly pierced through the back of the masked man, the spikes emerging from the chest.

The masked man who had no time to escape stared at the fork in his chest incredulously. In the next moment, he was effortlessly lifted by the black-cloaked scarecrow and, after spinning in mid-air, was flung away.

His body slammed into a cabinet, the cabinet door burst open, and four or five masked people rolled out from inside.

Startled, the masked people screamed loudly upon emerging.

One of them wanted to run but felt his leg being pulled.

He looked back in horror and saw the man who had been flung by the black scarecrow earlier tightly gripping his leg, the white mask showing a manic expression.

The escaping masked man screamed loudly, kicking at the man underfoot while cursing, “Let go, you bastard! You’re dying, why are you holding onto me?!”

Blood gurgled from the body of the masked man on the ground, and the hoarse voice seemed to come from the depths of his chest, “Come with me. Don’t even think about leaving. If I die, you all die too, accompany me in death.”

The fleeing masked man was furious, “Madman, you’re insane! Let go of me!”

Only after using all his strength to break free did the masked man realize that the black scarecrow was already standing in front of him.

It lifted the pitchfork mechanically, and stabbed it into the masked man’s body. The sharp spikes emerged from the chest, and the victim collapsed to the ground, limp and lifeless.

Unlike the masked people who went mad and collapsed in the face of death, the scarecrow seemed uninterested in this hunt. Although its face was covered by a black mask and cloak, its casual footsteps suggested that what it was doing now seemed like the most ordinary job.

Afterward, the scarecrow searched the room, confirming that the masked people in this room had been cleared before leaving the room. It hopped on its wooden stakes, and disappeared from the screen.

As it vanished from this screen, it quickly entered the corridor screen, then proceeded to the next room…

Bai Lixin stared at the screen. When the black scarecrow had its back to him, and the black cloak swayed in the air with the scarecrow’s movements, he vaguely saw a glint on the cloth.

A pattern.

A circular outline with a faintly discernible eye inside.

Bai Lixin wanted to see what would happen next but a large hand suddenly covered his eyes.

Fei Yino’s beguilingly gentle voice sounded in his ear, “Xiao Tou, don’t watch such gruesome scenes, they’ll frighten you. Let me take you to bed for a nap, and when you wake up, everything will be over, okay?”

The cold hand slid down his arm, and firmly grabbed his wrist.

Just as Fei Yino was about to pull Bai Lixin up, the quiet young man beneath his hand suddenly reversed the grip, capturing Fei Yino’s wrist. In one swift motion, he threw Fei Yino over his shoulder.

A surprised expression flickered in Fei Yino’s eyes, and before he could react, his body heavily crashed onto the floor.

There was a dull “thud”, and the ground trembled.

Fei Yino let out a muffled groan, and lay on the ground on all fours, motionless.

S419M whistled, [Awesome.]

Bai Lixin rubbed his wrist, glanced at the man on the ground coldly, then walked straight toward the corner.

Since earlier, he had noticed a peculiar-looking cabinet in the corner. It looked strange, and he always felt that there was something inside.

He had just walked a few steps when a scream came from above, and Bai Lixin raised his head. In the rows of screens, two masked people were pierced through by the black scarecrow.

Ignoring the screams, Bai Lixin reached the cabinet. Inside, he found a square black external hard drive.

He took the hard drive into his hand thoughtfully, and glanced around the room. He didn’t find any console to play the external hard drive, so after pondering for a moment, temporarily stashed the hard drive into his backpack.

Then, Bai Lixin returned to the sofa, took out the oil painting he had taken from Big Zhuang’s room, and before he could examine it closely, another scream echoed from the screens.

This time, the scream sounded familiar, and Bai Lixin subconsciously lifted his head.

Big Zhuang was curled up in a corner with wardrobes, staring at the tall and terrifying black monster in front of him with terror.

Fear made tears flow uncontrollably from his eyes, and the sturdy man was now teary-eyed and far from manly.

Bug Zhuang was not wearing a mask.

The black scarecrow, which had been ruthless against the masked people, hesitated this time.

Bloodstains clung to the pitchfork in its hand. It held the pitchfork blankly, and tilted it’s head towards Big Zhuang, seemingly scrutinizing and judging whether Bug Zhuang should be killed.

One man and one monster faced each other.

The black scarecrow stared at Big Zhuang for a full five seconds, then silently retracted the pitchfork, turned around, and bounced away from the cabinet.

The camera was still on Big Zhuang; after the scarecrow left, Big Zhuang instantly collapsed like a deflated balloon. His face was covered in a mixture of tears and mucus, looking quite embarrassed.

‘This is still a supernatural anchor.’

Bai Lixin silently mocked in his mind.

He needed a lesson. Let him learn that not every house could be entered casually, and not every woman could be slept with casually.

After dealing with the white masked man in this room, the black scarecrow did not leave like before but hopped to the window.

It used the pitchfork to open the window and let out a sharp whistle outside.

This seemed to be its way of communicating with the white scarecrow. Bai Lixin quickly scanned the screens but didn’t find the figure of the white scarecrow.

After awhile, just as the black scarecrow whistled again, a pure white figure suddenly entered through the window where it was.

Bai Lixin looked closely, and saw it was the white scarecrow he had met outside earlier.

However, the white scarecrow’s condition wasn’t great at the moment. One of its arms seemed to be cut and broken, and dark yellow straws protruded from the wound.

The pitchfork in its hand was nowhere to be found, and its white cloak had some black substance on it, looking somewhat disheveled.

On seeing this, the black scarecrow discarded its pitchfork and assisted the white scarecrow in tying up its sleeve, preventing more straws from leaking out.

Once the sleeve was bandaged, the black scarecrow handed its own pitchfork to the white scarecrow.

Bai Lixin silently observed the two scarecrows on the screen.

He originally thought these scarecrows were emotionless tools, but looking at their interaction, it didn’t seem to be the case.

They acted very friendly to each other.

These two scarecrows were not merely numb, emotionless tools.

The injury on the white scarecrow’s body was likely caused by the Dijia.

Now that the scarecrows had returned, what about Dijia? Where could he be?

The combined combat effectiveness of two scarecrows was always more potent than that of one. With the addition of the white scarecrow, this originally one-sided hunting game became even more suspense less, and the hunting speed significantly increased.

Bai Lixin glanced at the system time; it was already ten p.m.

There were still four hours until 2 a.m mentioned by the little black furry monster.

He shifted his attention to the oil painting he had taken out.

Everything in the painting was now bathed in red.

Now if he said that this oil painting was the scene of a golden wheat field during the day, no one would believe it.

The landscape in the painting hadn’t changed much from before; it was still a distant view of the Fei residence.

However, at some point, streaks of red paint started flowing down from the top of the frame.

The bright red paint resembled blood, creating a chilling and haunting effect.

Bai Lixin reached out and touched the flowing red pigment. His fingertips only felt a rough texture but did not get any paint stains.

The bright red quickly reached the Fei residence, branching into numerous small streams that slowly flowed down, covering the Fei residence like a waterfall of blood.

Beneath the blood waterfall, it seemed as if the Fei residence was bleeding and roaring wildly.

The red paint did not stop after arriving at the Fei residence and continued to flow downward.

Soon, the paint reached the courtyard of the Fei residence and gathered in the rose garden.

The red merged into a point, staining the rose garden before gradually expanding and turned into a blossoming rose.

There was layer upon layer of petals, and they looked so vibrant and lively that they didn’t look like something painted.

Lush and alluring, thick with mystery.

Behind it was the pitch-black night sky, under which blood gathered and eventually condensed into the unique rose.

The oil painting stopped at this point. Bai Lixin stared at it for a while, but there was no further change.

Bai Lixin stared at the painting in a trance, then thought of something. He put the painting into his backpack, swiftly got up, and headed outside.

S419M asked anxiously: [Lord Host, where are you going?]

Bai Lixin: [To find something.]

S419M: [But the black and white scarecrows are outside hunting everyone. Isn’t going out now just like a sheep entering a tiger’s den?]

Bai Lixin: [Your focus should be that our time in the Fei family is running out.]

Without hesitation, Bai Lixin quickly retraced his steps from the stairs, and left the monitoring room filled with screens.

Since this place was already close to the gate, he didn’t return through the dog door but directly entered the courtyard through the main gate.

As soon as he landed, rustling sounds came from the nearby bushes.

Bai Lixin looked over and saw two masked men cowering in the corner.

They had obviously seen him, and the masks on their faces twisted into strange expressions.
