Fei Yino repeated blankly, “Xiao Tou said… he was leaving.”

The memories he once wanted to forget rushed in like a river bursting its banks, instantly overwhelming him.

His looked dazed. At times, he glanced at the bulging bedsheet in the pit, and at times, he looked at the person enveloped in black fog.

That person had a face similar to Xiao Tou’s, but was looking at him with contempt.

Anger.

Grief.

Sorrow.

Various emotions surged through his mind in an instant.

‘Xiao Tou, why are you looking at me with such eyes?

Did I do something to make you dislike me?

Why do you look down on me?

Because… I run away?

Because… I killed you?’

A certain scene suddenly appeared in Fei Yino’s mind, and a crimson flush instantly filled his mind.

Fei Yino froze, his pupils shrinking as he looked toward the rose garden.

‘No, he isn’t Xiao Tou.

Xiao Tou is already dead.

Isn’t Xiao Tou lying in the pit?’

Fei Yino felt as if he had fallen into a turbulent whirlpool, his hands and feet were floating, and his brain was in chaos.

The phrase “Xiao Tou is already dead” pierced his heart like steel needles, each word causing a dull ache in his chest.

He couldn’t accept the fact that “Xiao Tou is dead.”

His distracted gaze returned to Bai Lixin in front of him. Fei Yino staggered and climbed up from the ground. He wanted to stand, but his legs were weak, and he couldn’t muster strength. After failing twice, he could only crawl toward Bai Lixin, using his black, viscous body to move closer, his eyes gradually becoming frenzied.

Xiao Tou is dead?

How could Xiao Tou be dead?’

Isn’t Xiao Tou right in front of him?

Xiao Tou belongs to him and can only be his.

No matter how many men Xiao Tou had, those people couldn’t truly possess him. Only he was Xiao Tou’s owner.

He loved Xiao Tou so much. How could Xiao Tou leave?

Xiao Tou betrayed him.

He would never allow Xiao Tou’s betrayal. He wanted to hide Xiao Tou away so that Xiao Tou could stay with him forever.

In his mind, a chaotic and disordered voice kept echoing. He had fallen into the turmoil between illusion and reality.

Black Fog saw Fei Yino’s actions and sneered. A dark shadow flashed between Bai Lixin and Fei Yino, and Fei Yino’s viscous black body was sliced in half.

Fei Yino suddenly lost his support and clumsily fell to the ground, eating a mouthful of dirt and weeds.

Bai Lixin frowned slightly.

Although the black fog had no expression, he could sense its restlessness and anger.

Black Fog was on the verge of making a move, and was struggling to restrain the impulse to kill Fei Yino.

It was very agitated.

Bai Lixin pondered. When they met yesterday, Black Fog forcibly dragged him into the room without any explanation. It was as if it was driven solely by primal instincts, devoid of rationality.

Seeing that the black fog was on the verge of going berserk, a somewhat cold hand pressed onto it.

The fingertips gently stroked the surface of the black fog, and Bai Lixin patiently comforted it, “Be good, calm down.”

The black fog, which had been constantly swirling with dark vortexes, instantly froze, and the next moment, when the black color moved again, it became exceptionally slow.

The gentle touch comforted it, and miraculously, the black fog calmed down.

It emitted a nasal sound but remained silent.

Seeing that the black fog had calmed down, Bai Lixin walked forward.

Like a weightless ornament, the black fog clung tightly to Bai Lixin’s body, moving with him.

Bai Lixin quickly arrived in front of the convulsing Fei Yino. Fei Yino seemed on the verge of a mental breakdown. His once handsome face was now making exaggerated expressions, his eyeballs were rolling incessantly, and pupils violently trembling. He looked like he was on the brink of fainting.

Sighing softly, Bai Lixin still asked, “Do you remember why Xiao Tou disappeared?”

Fei Yino was in a daze, like a puppet without a soul, clumsily answering Bai Lixin’s question.

“I think…I remember now.”

“That afternoon, he told me he was leaving.”

“I didn’t want him to leave, but he insisted.”

“I didn’t want him to go, so I held onto him, trapped him. I thought this way, he wouldn’t leave.”

“But I…” Fei Yino’s voice suddenly trembled, “I held too tight, he couldn’t breathe.”

Bai Lixin: “And then?”

Fei Yino shivered all over, “Then, I was too scared.”

“I was scared that I killed someone, scared of losing Xiao Tou. I hid him, so I could see him every day.”

“But… but Xiao Tou seemed a bit off. Initially, he just lay on the bed, quietly sleeping, but later, he opened his eyes and kept smiling at me. I talked to him, but he didn’t respond, just kept smiling. I told him to stop smiling, but he wouldn’t listen. He wasn’t obedient at all. His laughter was so frightening, like a devil. I was scared, scared of this Xiao Tou. This wasn’t my Xiao Tou, I don’t want this kind of Xiao Tou.”

Bai Lixin: “So you buried him?”

Fei Yino lay powerless on the ground, as if all his strength had been drained.

“I didn’t bury him, I just planted Xiao Tou.”

“He loved roses the most, so I planted him in the rose garden. When he matures, Xiao Tou will become the way he likes.”

Bai Lixin looked at Fei Yino, who had completely lost the will to survive, and summarized, “So, you killed Xiao Tou, then buried him in the rose garden. Your beloved Xiao Tou was killed by you, and Xiao Tou will never come back.”

Fei Yino stiffened, a pained and desperate expression on his face.

“I killed Xiao Tou.”

“Yes, I killed Xiao Tou.”

“Xiao Tou won’t come back, never again.”

“Wuuu, Xiao Tou, I’m sorry, my Xiao Tou.”

Supporting his body, Fei Yino crawled toward the rose garden, muttering to himself as he climbed, “Xiao Tou, I’m sorry. Big brother was wrong. Xiao Tou, don’t be afraid. Big brother will take you away from here and be with you forever.”

Just as he was about to crawl to the edge of the pit, a pitch-black figure unexpectedly landed beside him.

A cold light flashed across the sky. Fei Yino’s eyes flashed with an expression of disbelief, and he turned his neck in shock.

Behind him, a three-meter-high black scarecrow squatted there. Its palm had turned into sharp blades, piercing through Fei Yino’s body.

At this moment, Fei Yino was just a step away from the pit.

One step, however, turned into an uncrossable trench.

Fei Yino wanted to move forward, but he could no longer move even an inch.

He desperately extended his black hand, trying to grasp the person in the pit he had been longing for.

But everything was in vain.

His hand couldn’t stretch that far, and only reached the edge of the pit.

The black scarecrow indifferently withdrew its hand with a swift “swish.”

The moment its hand retracted, Fei Yino’s entire body twitched violently, then fell heavily to the ground, motionless.

He just stared at the nearby pit with red eyes, filled with endless regrets, regrets and remorse, and lost his last breath.

When the black scarecrow saw that Fei Yino was dead, it shook off the blood on its hand, turned, and looked at Bai Lixin and the black fog.

Bai Lixin narrowed his eyes as he sensed the hostility and murderous intent emanating from the black scarecrow.

Just as the tension rose again, the white scarecrow suddenly rushed out from the side and grabbed the black scarecrow.

Bai Lixin didn’t know how these two scarecrows communicated, but shortly after the white scarecrow arrived by the black scarecrow’s side, the intense killing intent of the black scarecrow weakened.

Wearing a large hooded cloak, it glanced towards Bai Lixin and the black fog, as if scrutinizing them.

Then, the black scarecrow stepped back, and together with the white scarecrow, bounced back towards Fei residence.

Only when the black and white scarecrows were out of sight did Bai Lixin approach the lifeless Fei Yino.

He looked at Fei Yino, whose eyes were wide-open, then glanced at the bedsheet still not dug out from the pit, and finally walked to the edge of the pit.

Having the black fog was indeed convenient. Initially, he had planned to pull out the bedsheet himself, but it seemed the black fog either didn’t want him to dirty his hands, so it took the initiative.

The flexible black fog extended forward, casually lifted a corner of the bedsheet and effortlessly pulled it out.

As the bedsheet unfolded in mid-air, the contents wrapped inside were exposed.

Seeing what was inside the bedsheet, Bai Lixin’s eyes flickered.

Inside the bedsheet was not Xiao Tou’s body but a pile of straw.

Bai Lixin bent down, picked up a handful of straw and twirled it in his hand, his expression thoughtful.

The black fog silently approached from behind, wrapped itself around Bai Lixin’s shoulders, and rested on the crook of his neck. “I’ve seen this straw, it has the same aura as the one falling from the white scarecrow.”

After playing with the straw for a while, Bai Lixin discarded it, then glanced at the black fog beside him. “How do you know what the straw from the white scarecrow looks like?”

The black fog said disdainfully, “I tore off its arms, what’s there not to know?”

“Then have you seen a man?” Bai Lixin’s eyes flashed, and he gestured with his arm, “About this tall, wearing a white mask.”

“No.” The black fog said confidently, “I came for you; why would I care about other men? Also, don’t mention other men in front of me.”

Bai Lixin: “…”

The black fog caressed Bai Lixin’s neck, and the fog around his waist starting to act up.

Its hoarse and deep voice carried a hint of reminiscence, “If it weren’t for the wrong circumstances, I really want to do it again here. Your scent is so fragrant, it makes me savor and can’t get enough.”

Bai Lixin lowered his head, and the cheek covered by his hair turned slightly red.

S419M: [Ahem, Lord Host, although I really don’t want to interrupt your intimate moment, I must remind you that there’s still an hour until 2 AM.]

Bai Lixin, who was distracted by his wandering thoughts, cane back to his senses and looked at the Fei residence.

Fei Yino had mentioned earlier that the black and white scarecrows would begin hunting the unmasked people after killing all the masked ones.

The black scarecrow just killed Fei Yino, did it mean they were about to start hunting the members of the Fei family?

After a brief contemplation, Bai Lixin entered the Fei residence.

Bodies were littered all over.

Blood dyed the hall red, making the place look like hell.

Bai Lixin had to walk cautiously to avoid stepping on bloodstains.

The black fog clinging to him like a koala snorted disdainfully. With a quick sweep in mid-air, a clean path immediately opened up on the messy ground, even the blood on the floor seemed to vanish.

A sharp scream suddenly came from upstairs. The sound was somewhat familiar, and Bai Lixin soon saw a slender figure running down the stairs.

Her eyes were in panic, and upon seeing Bai Lixin, surprise flashed in her eyes. Just as she was about to reach out to grab Bai Lixin, a white figure swiftly followed her.

The black pitchfork slipped from the white scarecrow’s hand, and its sharp three-pronged blade directly pierced through the woman’s body, nailing her to the ground.

The white scarecrow was obviously still very scared of the black fog. Upon seeing it, it didn’t even check the dead woman on the ground, and quickly withdrew the pitchfork.

Bai Lixin smiled, “It seems it’s really afraid of you.”

The black fog was quite arrogant, and just made a disdainful snort.

“Xiao, Xiao Xin.” A weak plea came from the front. The person who had just been impaled by the pitchfork had not yet died, and was reaching out to Bai Lixin for help. “Come over, save Mom.”

Li Manyu lay on the ground, still wearing the luxurious and exquisite diamond-studded evening gown. Blood was constantly oozing from her abdomen and pooling on the ground.

Bai Lixin walked to Li Manyu and turned her over to check her wounds, then shook his head helplessly, “It’s a fatal injury, sorry, there’s no way to save you.”

He couldn’t use healing cards after entering the copy, and he had no intention of saving Li Manyu.

Judging by the current eerie situation in the Fei residence, Li Manyu, as an important NPC, probably no longer qualified as a true human.

Li Manyu had been breathing heavily, and upon hearing Bai Lixin’s words, she suddenly grasped Bai Lixin’s hand, her eyes fierce. “It’s all your fault! If not for you, bitch, my son wouldn’t have…”

The black fog was a bit angry and raised its hand to chop off Li Manyu’s hand, but Bai Lixin stopped it.

Li Manyu’s nails were a bit long, and her sharp nails scratched Bai Lixin’s wrist. Several small indented holes appeared on the young man’s fair skin. The black fog couldn’t stand it and forcefully knocked away her hand. It then gently wrapped Bai Lixin’s wrist with a tinge of concern.

Li Manyu was still bleeding, and upon seeing this, she first froze, then began to curse angrily.

“Bitch, demon, you are indeed a vixen who seduces anyone. How shameless can you be? Just give you a stick, and you’re satisfied. You’re truly indiscriminate, even flirting with such monsters who are neither human nor ghost. Why did I give birth to such a slut like you?”

The black fog suddenly surged, but Bai Lixin, the person involved, remained calm and composed.

Bai Lixin: “A dragon begets a dragon, a phoenix begets a phoenix. A mouse’s child will dig holes. You gave birth to me, and by cursing me like this, aren’t you cursing yourself?”

They say in times of death, one’s words are kind, but this saying didn’t seem to apply to Li Manyu.

Bai Lixin’s words seemed to touch a nerve in Li Manyu and she became hysterical once again, “If it weren’t for you seducing Fei Taizong, Fei Taizong would still be my husband, and he would still like women!”

“You are the real culprit who ruined this family!”

“All men can’t resist your temptation. Just a twist of your waist, and they pounce on you like horny dogs.”

“You are really evil, do you know how many families you’ve destroyed?”

She roared like a madwoman, venting her anger with the last of her strength.

“I regret giving birth to you. I should have aborted you when I was pregnant with you.”

“I regret it, why didn’t I just strangle you to death back then.”

Bai Lixin frowned slightly, “Do you hate me that much?”

Li Manyu’s eyes were bloodshot, “I hate you, I really hate you. I hate you!”

With a soft sigh, Bai Lixin stood up and took two steps back. He glanced upstairs where the noisy sounds and cries were coming from upstairs, then walked towards the stairs without turning back.

After a round of screaming, Li Manyu’s voice had lost the robustness from earlier but continued to echo behind Bai Lixin.

“Come back here!”

“Do you want to watch me die without saving me?”

“I am your mother, your biological mother. Call for an ambulance, come back here, you ungrateful white eyed wolf!”

The voice gradually faded away, and Bai Lixin knew that although Li Manyu hadn’t died yet, it was only a matter of time.

Upstairs, there was a plea for mercy from Red Hair, and Bai Lixin grabbed the stair railing, preparing to jump up. Just as his feet left the ground, the clinging black fog effortlessly wrapped around the railing. With a gentle tug, Bai Lixin was pulled up to the third floor.

Being wrapped in the black fog felt somewhat subtle, it strangely felt like he was being embraced.

Just as Bai Lixin stabilized himself on the third-floor stairs, he saw a figure stumbling out of a room. It was Red Hair, and she was crying like a child.

Upon seeing Bai Lixin, Red seemed to have encountered a savior, and she rushed towards him, “Wuuuuu, Bai Lixin, save me.”

Chasing behind her was the white-cloaked scarecrow.

The scarecrow originally held a pitchfork with a threatening posture, but upon seeing the black fog on Bai Lixin, it wilted.

It froze in place for two seconds, its face stiffly turning towards its severed arm.

Perhaps recalling the painful experience not long ago, the white scarecrow ultimately didn’t chase Red Hair any further, and she ran to Bai Lixin’s side and hid behind him.

Not long after the white scarecrow left, Bai Lixin looked at the pale-faced Red Hair with some helplessness, “Are you okay?”
