After a while, three young girls aged sixteen or seventeen came.

The school warden pointed at the pile of things on the upper bed and said, “Who owns those things? Hurry up and pack it, and the luggage rack …”

Toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, skin care products and other miscellaneous things were taken down on the luggage rack.

The school warden said, “You put your things on your own beds. Fortunately, these days are not my ward rounds. If it was my round, you would have to rearrange all the messes in your bedroom!”

Most of the upper bunks were filled with things of the little girl with ponytails. When she heard that they had to clean things up, her face looked very ugly and unhappy, but she still reluctantly went up and moved everything down.

There was everything including quilts, mats, socks, pots, books, and many other miscellaneous things. She packed her stuff and before she finished, there was nowhere to pile up a lot of things. She then piled it up on the opposite empty bed.

The school warden knocked on the upper bunk, “You have to pick up things too! How do things get piled up here? Your bedroom is a mess, even the boys’ room is not that messy!”

In addition, there were cabinets and luggage racks, which were all occupied by other people’s things.

Only the top two rows of the luggage rack were still empty. The school would issue it uniformly and open it only after hostel fee was paid

The other beds were occupied with the top two positions empty.

The quilts were uniformly distributed by the school, but students were also allowed to bring their own sheets and quilts.

Seeing that the shirt’s sleeves that Su Xingchen wore were short, Father Su felt guilty when he discovered that they had ignored her much more than he thought in recent years.

Father Su climbed up and down to make bed for Su Xingchen. He hung mosquito nets and chatted with her new roommates, “Come with Su Xingchen for dinner someday. You still need to take care of each other in the future. If Chenchen doesn’t study well, we still need to trouble you to teach her more.”

He was very polite.

The quilts issued by the school were very thin, and the quilts underneath had only a single layer.

Seeing that on several other classmates’ beds were new quilts brought by them, he returned and sent Su Xingchen a duvet that he slept in on a normal day.

When Su Xingchen came, he bought her a new quilt, but the new quilt was taken by Su Xingyue. She covered her bed with an old bed sheet that Su Xingyue had thrown. Even then, looking at the old bed sheet, Su Xingyue still thought that Su Xingchen was robbing her stuff.

Su Xingyue had been sleeping for several years in this bed sheet. Then Su Xingchen had used it for four years. It had been washed several times. The place where she slept in the middle was thin and transparent. When Father Su gently pulled the quilt, he saw a big hole in the middle.

He tore the sheets together and threw them away. He took a new four-piece set out of his room.

When the old lady saw him, she asked, “What are you doing with the quilt? The quilt was bought by my daughter-in-law just before the beginning of the year. Where are you taking it?”

The old lady suddenly understood what was happening, “Is she back? If you take your wife’s bed sheet for her, she will quarrel with you.”

She came over and approached Father Su, “Don’t get attached to that girl, who would run away from home after being told a few words?”

The old lady was very dissatisfied and accused, “You are too soft. She has a bad temper. With your attitude, you won’t control her in the future.”

Father Su said nothing. He held the quilt and two storage boxes and went downstairs.

One of the storage boxes was filled with books, and the other storage box had the clothes that were in her closet, including the new ones he bought.

By the time he arrived at school, the students had already started classes, and the school would not let him in again. He could only let the doorman call his daughter out of the classroom.

Su Xingchen looked at the two large boxes of items and quilts he brought. Her mood was very complicated.

When she decided to leave, he gave her a touch of tenderness, but most of the time, he turned a blind eye to the indifference imposed on her.

Father Su stood outside the school door and didn’t know what to say. He took out two hundred Yuan from his pocket and gave it to her, “You have a meals card at school, this money is for books. You come home on weekends. If the money is not enough just tell me.”

After a pause, he added, “In school, it would be better to have more connections with your sister and brother. Take care of each other, the blood is thicker than water. These relations cannot vanish due to overnight hatred. “
