“Now then… Ren-chan. You promised, didn’t you? Let’s return to the inn so we can talk it through~”
Chris-san said with a laugh after we left Eva-san’s place.
“Umm, you mean the room you guys used at the guild?”
“You know what I’m talking about, right?~ Fufu~ It’s alright~ We will only talk first~ The three of us all rented a single room in the guild so it’s too cramped for us four~ And we can’t go to Malik-san’s house because I’ll get anxious if he were to come back suddenly~”
I tried to pretend I didn’t have any inkling he was going to bring me to a love hotel but as I thought… Chris-san saw through my act easily.
Well I did see the room they were in yesterday. It was true there wouldn’t be enough space for the four of us to sit down and talk there.
“I understand… I don’t know where it is though. Is it close?”
“Right. Well there’s a red light district 20 minutes from here. We can find a love inn there.”
Fer-san answered.
Tsurekomiyado… They are called ‘love hotels’ nowadays, right?
I never had anything related to that kind of thing ever since I arrived in Alsar so I didn’t even know where the red light district was.
Malik-san had told me to never go near the red light district but from what I had overheard from the adventures in the guild, it seemed there were brothels and rental houses with beautiful men and women. But I guess… There were inn designated for that kind of thing too, huh…
Sig-san took my right hand and walked with me.
“Which reminds me, Fer-san, Sig-san. The two of you also know Eva-san, huh?”
I didn’t think anything was amiss back then but now that I thought about it, it seemed they already knew each other.
“Yes. Eva-san is a close friend of my grandmother, the former queen. She always comes to visit the imperial castle once a year.”
“I only went there a couple of times to eat. We talked for a little bit then.”
“Ah… I see.”
I’m always surrounded by amazing people. Like Malik-san and Eva-san who turned out to have a close relationship with the former queen. Well, I mean, Fer-san is a genuine prince as well.
“Ken-san, who always comes with her, will cook us a meal. Thanks to Ken-san, our head chef also learned several dishes from the other world. Manami-sama who came from the same world is greatly overjoyed with this.”

Turning my head around to take a glance at Fer-san, I saw he was frowning heavily with a grim expression on his face. The memory of Manami-san’s cooking must be traumatizing for him. I wonder how terrible the meal Manami-san had made for Fer-san, who usually smiled gently at me to look this traumatized.
“No, it’s not that she’s bad at cooking but those things are.. Poisonous. But she is always eager to cook behind my father’s back and have other people eat what she has made. Listen, Ren-kun. When we go to my family to greet them after our marriage, please remember to never ever put anything Manami-san has made into your mouth.”
“I-I understand.”
Fer-san who had been walking behind me suddenly grabbed my shoulder and turned me around. He stared directly at me and pleaded with me to never touch Manami-san’s homemade meal.
Seeing how ghastly pale Fer-san’s face was, I nodded frantically.
Satisfied with my answer, Fer-san turned my body back to the front and pushed me a little to start walking again. Sig-san, who had been separated from me during my talk with Fer-san, entwined our hands together again.
But still… I never expected Manami-san’s meal would make Fer-san act like that…
Ah, right! I just remembered about the greeting!
“Umm, we’re going to the royal capital in August, right? I’d like to greet everyone’s family before and after the exam for rank promotion. Will that be alright?”
“Eh?~ You want to meet mine?~ I think you don’t need to meet my family though… I’m sure they’re only going to make Ren-chan feels bad~”
I’ve heard people in here didn’t really meet each other’s family during the engagement period but since we were going to be in the same town as their family, it would be weird to not show my face, right?
I tilted my head to the side a little and saw Chris-san had a sad expression on his face. I guess Chris-san didn’t have a good relationship with his family…?
“Umm… If you really don’t want me to then…”
I wouldn’t force Chris-san to come and greet his family if he didn’t want to.
“Haah… We still need to see them at least once though… I guess it is time for me to put the last nail in the coffin just in case they still haven’t crossed me out as the candidate to be the family’s head~ Ren-chan, you might have to experience something bad but I will definitely protect you so will you come with me to meet my family?~”
“Yes!”
I replied enthusiastically at Chris-san who sighed while saying,”Can’t be helped then~”
“I don’t mind. I’m sure the Director will like Ren.”
Sig-san who was walking beside me said while gently patting my head.
“I’m fine with this arrangement as well but I suggest we meet my family after the examination. With that aside, how about if we completely enjoy ourselves for the whole month of July?”
Fer-san, who had been looking aghast before, said with his usual tender smile.
“Yes. Let’s do it.”

“Ren, we’re going to reach the red light district soon. Is there any inn you want to check?”
“This is my first time being here so I don’t really have anything in mind…”
After walking for about 20 minutes, we finally arrived at the entrance of the red light district. Sig-san stopped to ask me but I honestly never been here before so I really didn’t know what to expect here. Although I said ‘entrance’, there wasn’t any literal ‘gate’ or anything but somehow…How do I say it… You could feel the difference in the mood…? Like the vibe was completely different there.
It was still daytime so there wasn’t any woman standing there. The store wasn’t open yet either so this place was pretty much deserted.
“Ah~ I guess you’re right~ That inn over there has a clean bed and sheets so I think it’d be good to go there?~”
“You seem to be very knowledgeable, huh?”
Chris-san pointed to one of the inn and I couldn’t help but to answer him back in a sarcastic and cold tone.
I knew the three of them were popular with people but thinking about them doing this kind of thing with other people just made me feel upset.
“Ah~ Ren-chan… I’m sorry… I was wrong…”
“I’m sorry too but please be more careful next time…”
The smirk immediately disappeared from Chris-san’s face as he apologized to me. Seeing Chris-san looked like that, I felt bad for being immature about it. I apologized back to Chris-san but I still told Chris-san what I wanted.
I’ve had a girlfriend too so there was no reason for me to be jealous about their past relationship.
“Shall we go there?”
Fer-san walked toward the inn briskly.
Well… With the way they said it, it seemed they’ve been to the other inn before so I guess any inn they choose would be alright…
I thought to myself as I followed Fer-san.
“Please give me a moment.”
When we entered, Fer-san was already talking with an old man managing the counter so we decided to stand a little further and waited for him. Sig-san released my hand and he stood on my right while Chris-san was standing on my left.
“I’m sorry about earlier but… You were burning with jealousy didn’t you?~ Fufu~ It made me feel a little happy~”
Chris-san said while twirling his finger around my hair. I glanced at him sideways and saw his eyes sparkling as if he couldn’t contain his happiness.
Ugh! The destructive power of a handsome man’s smile!
“Thank you for waiting. The best room in this inn is still available. It’s on the corner of the third floor. Shall we go now?”
Fer-san snatched me from between Sig-san and Chris-san. He put his hands on my shoulder and guided me toward our room.
“The best room… Weren’t we just going to talk?!”
“Of course. I only booked it for one night. Well now that we’re here, let’s talk thoroughly all night, okay?”
Huh?
Somehow Fer-san really put extra emphasis on the 「thoroughly」part?
And it wasn’t evening yet but Fer-san booked the room for one night?!
I felt my anxiety creeping in as we climbed the stairs…
