I named the bird type beast Altair. As I spoke his name out loud while chanting the incantation, glimmering grains of light began to rain down from my hand onto him. The light disappeared as fast as it appeared and although there were no visible changes, I could feel his power through the ring on my pinky finger.
I lifted my hand away from his beak and looked at the ring. A flaming, flickering red gem was embedded into the once empty space in the ring. This must be the proof that the contract was completed?
『Master! Thank you for the cool name! I’m looking forward to working with you from now on! 』
“Please treat me well too, Altair. Huh?!”
I guess he liked the name I gave him. After we established the contract, he was able to step out of the magic circle. He flapped his wings excitedly, making a menacing thud sound with each flap. As soon as he came close to me, he changed his size into that of a parrot and perched himself on my right shoulder.
Huh?! He can change his size at will?!
“You can change your size?”
『Yeah! Changing my own size is as easy as pie for me! Besides, if I stay in my true size, I will have to stay in that thing all the time, right? But if I look like this, I can stay outside, right? 』

I had decided to name the tiger type beast Spica. As I chanted the incantation, the same fluttering light was falling over him too. I looked at the ring on my left pinky finger. There was a light blue gemstone embedded into it, unlike Altair’s flaming red ones.
Ah. Now that I took a closer look at them, Altair’s eyes had the same flaming red hue on it too, just like his red gemstone while Spica had pale, light blue eyes. Like the color you’d get after dripping a few drops of blue paint over white paint.

“Fufu~ Nice to know you, Spica. Oh. Spica, you can turn small too?”
『Because I want to stay outside too!』
“Ahhh~ So adorable!”
Now that the contract was established, Spica could leave the magic circle. He too, changed his form into that of a cat that was slightly bigger than usual and rubbed his body against my leg. His elongated tusk was greatly reduced into that of a cuter size. On the outside, Spica looked like just a normal white tiger cat.
He was so adorable that I couldn’t contain myself. I immediately crouched down, slid my hand under both sides of his front leg and lifted him up. Spica’s body began to slump down, following the gravity just like the picture of a long cat I had seen on the internet. This sight of him was seriously dangerous. He looks too cute!!

I… I liked all animals but I loved cats the best. Because of that, it seemed I had unconsciously hugged him tight. When I heard Spica’s surprised yelp, I immediately came to my senses and loosened my hold over him, gently stroking him.

I also added my two cents to make sure the two of them understood what we were talking about. If Altair and Spica were going to stay outside like this, they had to learn to live cordially with all of us.

The three of them who had been watching over us silently, introduced themselves to the magical beasts as well. They couldn’t really converse with each other but somehow it seemed they could communicate well. The magical beasts could understand what Chris-san and the others were saying when but I couldn’t say the same about Chris-san and the others…
Communication was going to be difficult but I guess, they could get along just fine for now?

The magical beasts Ren summoned were definitely the strongest beasts I had ever encountered. The magic power I could sense from the beasts was simply incomparable.

In his true form, he could engulf Ren with his wings but he usually took the form of a budgerigar parrot and stayed perched on Ren’s shoulder. He was pretty intense and boisterous.

A tiger type magical beast. He had white fur and light blue eyes. He belonged to Ren and had a pair of long tusks. He could control the wind with his roar and could use both of his fangs and claws to inflict a fatal blow. He was actually slightly under 3 meters long but spent most of his time in the form of a normal sized cat. When he was that size, his fangs also became shorter, making him look like a normal cat. He was not the boisterous type but because he often competed with Altair, he became as boisterous as Altair.
