When she finished her explanation a dry laugh escaped Satvik's lips, "he-he-he! Ah, Shiet!"

"I must say, you are pretty calm and handling the situation pretty well," he said after a while.

He was surprised that she didn't show any signs of anger, panic or even embarrassment.

"What did you expect?"

"That we will get embarrassed or something"

"We aren't some teenager. We are a mature woman and Queen at that," she said.

Satvik nodded as if her explanation made sense.

"And we have already stooped low enough to become your familiar, what difference does it make?"

"We can always divorce you though," she said.

"How can you divorce me?" he questioned with curiosity.

"Of course by killing you," she said with a sadistic laugh.

"You don't hold back do you?" he questioned after letting out a defeated sigh.

He was quite sure that she was just poking fun at him. As his familiar, she could never harbour any I'll intention against him.

She could neither betray him nor harm him in any way whatsoever, the familiar could never have such thoughts against their master.

Even when she bit him to draw his blood, it would only arouse her Master and not cause any sort of pain.

"Anyway, moving further" he started speaking in a serious tone.

"Your 'Blood-mancer' skill is utter garbage," he declared.

She looked at him with a frown.

"Well at least if you keep on using your blood," he said while grabbing her finger.

Then he used her nail to prick his finger to draw a drop of blood.

When she looked at his blood and the smell permeated in her nose, she was drawn to put it in her mouth while she was in a trance.

"No, hold on!" he said while gently flicking her to break her trance.

She nodded while biting on her lip and looking straight into his eyes.

Then he turned his head and looked towards a huge rock.

While he looked the other way, she quickly licked her nail which still had small traces of his blood.

'What is this blood' she thought inwardly.

Although she didn't show it to him,  it was still slightly embarrassing, that she was acting like a young vampire who couldn't control their urge after smelling fresh blood.

She even lost her composure yesterday while drinking his blood for the first time and now this.

She tasted the blood of several races, from elves to young humans, but never came across such intoxicating blood similar to his.

While she was mulling over her thoughts, Satvik looked at the giant rock and then looked at her.

"Now use your blood, just a single drop to attack that rock and only use a sufficient amount of mana" he said, while pointing at the rock.

She nodded and drew a drop of her blood and shaped it into a blood needle a few centimetres long and attacked the rock.

When the needle came into contact with the giant rock, it dug only a few centimetres before splattering.

She looked quite satisfied with the result.

"Now use my blood to attack, with the same amount of mana" he said.

She nodded and started shaping his blood drop in a similar fashion and holding her urge to put it in her mouth.

'What a waste' she thought inwardly and shot towards the giant rock.

*Woosh~*

The blood needle flew towards the rock and embedded into it.

Saloni's eyes opened wide and her jaw fell with shock when she saw that the needle did more damage and dug two times deeper as compared to the needle made from her blood.

"Hahaha," Satvik laughed as he gently closed her jaw.

"How?" she could only say one word trying hard to contemplate the situation.

"How?" muttered Saloni.

He found her current reaction very cute and put his still-bleeding finger in her mouth.

"Well it's simple science," he said while she licked his finger which slightly turned him on.

she sucked her thumb like a baby while enjoying the taste of his blood but soon frowned and she spit his finger out.

"What science?" she asked with curiosity.

"Blood generally carries nutrients and minerals in bodies of the living," he started explaining while he sat on the ground.

"These contents change from race to race and species to species."

"While your blood is similar to mine, your blood is deficient in minerals. Especially, iron" he said.

Then he gestured to sit next to him. She sat close to him and he took her hand in his palm which was quite pale compared to his.

"It is just my theory but listen to me," he said while looking at her palm.

She nodded.

"The body of a vampire is designed in such a way that they don't ingest food, right?" he questioned while looking into her blood-red eyes.

She nodded. This was a very well-renowned fact.

"Hence they 're dependent on other's blood to provide them with nutrients and minerals required by their body."

"But since your body absorbs the minerals and other nutrients with time, your blood again becomes deficient of other minerals and most important it losses its density."

[A/N: The author is not a science student so please accept his 'bs' since it is just a fantasy. Peace.]

He again used her thumbnail to poke her another finger to draw blood.

And her blood lacked the irony smell and was quite thin compared to his. Then after tasting it again, he confirmed his theory.

"The presence of different minerals can make a lot of difference. Although you cannot control other minerals independently, but when they are a mere composite of blood, things change don't they?" he said while winking at her.

"So you're saying, if we had thick blood, would our skill be stronger?"  she questioned as if she understood the logic behind his theory.

"Well they say blood is thicker than water, but for a Blood-Mancer, blood without iron and other minerals is nothing more than red-coloured water" he mumbled.

"So, it would benefit you if you stopped using your blood and instead start using the blood of other beasts and monsters that have iron-enriched blood."

He then used his fingers to tuck wild strands of hair behind her ears and said, "You can collect the blood of the monster we kill them and can use it later."

"And then I'll also teach you how to use an Odachi and with that, you'll be invincible. Hehehe~" after saying that he started laughing manically.

"Ummm, what's an Odachi?" she questioned ignoring his maniacal laugh.

"Ahem, Odachi is basically a large sword. Don't worry I'll get it forged for you as soon as possible," he said.

Then he started to look around for something.

"What are you looking for?" she questioned.

"Looking for something to collect blood from now on."

"I wish had dimension storage skills, like a good protagonist," he grumbled.

"Oh I have a dimension inventory skill," she muttered.

He instantly turned his head and looked at her with scarlett eyes.

              ------------------

[Passive Skill: ...Spatial Storage]

            ------------------

His eyes turned black and then turned slightly moist.

He then hugged her tightly while continuously shouting, "My precious!"

"What are you doing?" she questioned him in a neutral tone but didn't push him away.

He then separated himself from her and said, "You don't worry, I will protect you, my most precious treasure."

He was hoping he had a skill like dimension storage and use to pray to gods for blessing him with one.

He looked at her as if seeing the most important treasure.

'I don't have to carry those stupid bags anymore. Heck, I even carry more resources back to the adventure guild and earn better,' he thought to himself.

"Hahaha," she started laughing.

His train of thoughts halted after listening to her melodious laugh and looked at her with a gentle smile.

'She indeed is quite beautiful. Lucky me,' he thought.

"Well isn't it your duty to protect your only wife," she wiped her tears.

His expression turned sorrowful after listening to her comment.

She didn't fail to notice the change in his expression and stopped laughing.

"You're not my only wife though."

"You would be my thir.. second wife," he said with a gentle smile.

"But I will protect that smile of yours, with everything I've got" he said while yawning.

"I won't fail again" he mumbled in a muffled voice and lay down.

"Night watch is on you. Goodnight Saloni" he said and shut his eyes.

She noticed that he suddenly became gloomy and the sorrow in his voice didn't go unnoticed by her.

She understood the fact that she didn't know him very well.

But might it be due to a familiar contract or his personality.

She had hardly ever interacted with a person other than her parents, Mahi and her subordinates.

But talking to him was like a breath of fresh air which could blow away the sorrow of her loss.

Now she was very interested to know everything about him and shoulder his burden.

"Goodnight, Vik!" she mumbled and moved closer to him and gently laid his head in her lap while caressing his hair.

She looked at his face with a deep gaze and had a sense of deja vu.

Whenever she looked at him, it felt like she has already met him.

Then her gaze turned towards his missing limb.

Then she smiled and said, "This shall be a wedding gift from us."

Then she kissed his forehead.
