"This is a gift from the Guild manager. He's the other person who knows your identity and intends to keep it hidden."

"What is this?" he asked her while looking at the bracelet.

"Here, let me show you!" she said and took the bracelet back and put it on the wrist.

Then she said, "Now use your analysis skill or whatever it is."

Satvik used his third eye skill as per her request.

                                       _____________

[N/A]

                                        _____________

Looking at his saucer-like scarlet eyes she nodded in satisfaction and said, "Yep! It blocks analysis skills. This is one of the most prized possession of our guild master and he entrusts it to you."

Satvik took the bracelet and then questioned, "What does he want?"

"Huh?" muttered Reina.

"No one ever does anything for free. I hope your manager is not looking for something in return," he said.

Reina understood his concern and said, "No-no, he expects nothing in return. Or maybe it's just that he wants you to lay low and not cause any trouble, while you're in this city."

Satvik nodded and left with the bracelet. It was too good to let go of.

                                                          ------------------------------------------

"He took the bracelet?" asked Noah from Reina.

"Yes, though he was skeptical at first," she replied.

"Well he's smart and cunning enough," he said while looking at the recording crystal in his hand.

He found it very fascinating, the out-of-the-box usage of the recording crystal that Satvik had come up with.

Reina nodded and further questioned, "So what are you going to do with that adventurer?"

Reina was inquiring about Lyer. Satvik wasn't the first adventurer he had tried to frame and if it wasn't for Satvik's cunningness, he would have been successful like every other time in framing a fellow adventure.

"I have ordered them to revoke his membership with us. That's the most I can do," he said while shrugging.

"Although I can't do the same for his other party members," he finished.

Reina nodded and with that their small meeting came to an end.

                   x-------------------------------------------x

Satvik was lazily sitting in the garden after his morning training, while Heena and Sneha were tending flowers in their backyard.

Although Satvik was contributing to household expenses, the mother-daughter duo still tried not to be solely dependent on him and continued to sell flowers.

Winters were around the corner and when the weather shifted to a cold one, it would be impossible for their backyard to fetch flowers hence, they had planned to sell as many as possible before the cold kicked in.

Satvik looked at Aria who was yawning next to him and said, "It's great we are getting a break for today and tomorrow. We have been going to the dungeon for the past 5 days."

[You want to sink your teeth again in that woman, don't you?]

Aria questioned him while laying on her side and looking at Heena.

"Woah! from where are you learning these things?" Satvik was surprised.

[Fellow adventurers]

She put all the blame on the innocent adventurers.

But it only confused Satvik further, he hardly conversed with any other adventurer for them to become his 'fellow adventures.'

{I have never talked to any other adventurer and neither do we go to taverns that often. So, where did you find these well-mannered gentlemen?}

[I hear them talking when we are at the Guild or even inside the dungeon.]

Her instant reply reminded him of her heightened senses. For her, it was easy to pick up what others were talking about even discreetly while being a few meters away.

'Her senses are no joke, maybe I should feed her some sleeping pills for the night before engaging in any sort of activities with Heena,' he thought inwardly while looking at his familiar serious expression.

{I would prefer that you don't learn anything from them at all}

He said while rolling over his eyes.

[But you keep telling me to observe and learn from others.]

She said and started licking her fur coat with her tongue casually.

{I'm sure I have told you many more things but you hardly remember any of them. But when it comes to bad habits, you adapt to them quite quickly.}

He said with a deadpan expression on his face.

"Are you both fighting again?" questioned Sneha while looking at the duo.

Satvik and Aria both looked at her in disbelief. Even though she was not completely correct but she wasn't that far from the mark.

They were only talking through their mind, so how was it even possible for her to judge their situation?

"How did you come to the conclusion that we are fighting?" questioned Satvik from Sneha with curiosity.

"Hehehe~" she started giggling.

Then she told him, "When you both are fighting, Bhaiya you make weird grumpy faces and she makes weird growling noises, just like now."

Satvik and Aria turned their faces and looked at each other with neutral expressions. After they both nodded to each other, Satvik muttered, "Nope you're wrong."

"We were neither fighting nor we made any weird faces and noises," he declared with a pout and Aria bobbed her head while nodding in agreement.

It was already night...

"My Lord! You don't have to succumb to her selfish demands," said Heena.

Satvik shook his head and with a smile said, "It's fine, I'm used to this. I also have a little sister. When she was young, she would also sleep with me while I told her stories."

Heena nodded and then looked at her daughter who was lying next to Satvik on his bed with a huge grin pasted over her face.

After dinner, she had requested to sleep with Satvik today to which Satvik agreed. She reminded him a lot of Veena, his younger sister.

To date, one of his biggest regrets was not being able to see his little sister grow. She was like a duckling following him around and sticking close to him.

When Heena left the room, Sneha yelled, "Story Time!"

"Hahahaha!"

Satvik laughed and questioned her, "So, do you like horror stories? I know many of them."

Sneha's eyes became teary and she said, "Please Bhaiya, no horror story or I'll never be able to sleep in my room. I already feel like someone is there, even when I'm alone."

"Is it so?" he questioned her with a curious smile.

She nodded her head vehemently.

"Okay! Let me tell you a story...

                                      ----------------------------------------------------

Many decades ago, there was a couple who prayed to God to bless them with a child.

After some time the Wind God finally heard their prayers and blessed them with a child. The couple were happy and named their child Maruti.

Unbeknownst to them, Maruti wasn't an ordinary child. He was the avatar of one of the most powerful gods and a child with limitless power and magic.

When he was still a child and still naive, one day he was hungry and when his gaze landed outside the window, there was a tree and in the silhouette of that tree he saw a yellow colored fruit hanging from the tree.

While mistaking the sun for fruit, he flew out of the window to get the fruit.

But when he landed on the branch of the tree, he realized that the fruit wasn't hanging from the tree but it was hanging in the sky.

Maruti, then flew towards the sky to eat the fruit.

When he reached the sun and saw how massive it was, he used his power and increased his size in order to engulf the sun.

When he had almost engulfed half of the sun, the sun god rushed to the King of Gods and requested his help because if the sun was engulfed by Maruti, the whole world would become dark.

The God-King in order to prevent Maruti from engulfing the sun attacked him with one of his divine weapons.

When the weapon hit its mark, Maruti became unconscious and started plummeting toward the earth.

While Maruti was falling unconsciously, the wind god caught him in order to save him.

When Wind God saw Maruti's poor condition, he lost his temper and became enraged.

He couldn't believe that a small kid was hit by a divine weapon.

In a rage, the Wind God stopped the flow of air throughout the world. The living started suffocating, be it humans, animals, or plants.

The living prayed to the gods to save them. Then all the gods visited Wind God and requested him to let go of airflow or the whole world would perish.

The wind god ignored their request while all of his focus was still an unconscious child in his lap.

Even though he was not his child, it was his

responsibility to take care of the child until he grows up.

Then the three supreme gods arrived to quench the wind god's rage.

The King of the Gods and his counsels were made to understand how wrong they have been in dealing with a young child.

In order to repent for their mistakes, they gave the young child their divine blessings and from that day, the legend of Maruti began and he earned valor, spirituality, and greatness.

                                            ---------------------------------------------

"Umm, how is this story going to help me, bhaiya?" asked Sneha.

"Hahaha!" Satvik laughed after hearing her question.

Then he ruffled her hair and said, "It's believed, that whoever prays to Maruti, ghosts don't haunt them. Why don't you give it a try."

"Maybe, the ghost in your room will run away, doesn't hurt giving it a try does it?" he said.

Sneha nodded but hesitantly asked, "But how can I pray to him when I don't even know what he looks like?"

Satvik placed his finger under his chin and said, "Imagine the strongest hero out there, he can be from any race. It doesn't matter, what matters is that you pray to him with utmost love and respect, and he will answer your prayer."

Sneha nodded and yawned while her eyelids were half open.

Satvik kissed her forehead and said, "Now you sleep!"

Sneha nodded and trailed off to a dreamland where she met a monkey god..... but that's a story for some other time.
