“Whew…

Andrea plunged the knife into the chest of the man who had fallen, rubbing the nape of his neck where Andrea had received a blow earlier. The unconscious man, unlike before, died without any resistance.

The last target was difficult to deal with. Because he was a mercenary, he had skill in escaping and was formidable at fighting. His nose and mouth were stained with blood from being beaten so thoroughly that the target’s every inch of their body was red. Nevertheless, Andrea managed to successfully bring him down and complete his request.

Andrea lay sprawled near the target. The clouds drifting leisurely in the blue sky looked beautiful. Was Del looking at the same sky? That’s enough. Andrea thought so until a fit of coughing erupted from the depths of his chest, causing him to hunch over. In that moment, A shadow fell over Andrea

“What are you doing?”

The guild members responsible for handling the corpses had arrived. Both of them looked at Andrea with puzzled expressions.

“Why are you still here?”

Assassination requests included post-mortem handling processing. One is when the client wanted the death of the target to be widely known, and the other was when they wanted it to remain a secret.

This particular target belonged to the latter. At this point, the corpse collection team had been dispatched. Their role was limited to post-processing and cleaning, and they rarely encountered the assassination team.

Even the person in charge this time was Andrea, the guild leader. The corpse collection team had never even considered the possibility of meeting the assassination team.

“Cough, cough, uh, it’s a bit difficult this time. Get to work. Cough.”

A small clot of blood spurted out with the last cough. The blow to the nape of the neck seemed quite severe. Andrea wiped the blood away with the back of his hand and closed his eyes.

For the past three days, he had been perfectly fine. Overflowing with strength, he effortlessly dealt with unfinished requests in just two days. He also defeated a boar-like mercenary. Though he shed some blood in the process, it was Andrea who won anyway.

He didn’t think much about Del. He didn’t wonder about what he was doing or what decisions he would make.

Like the clouds in the sky floating by. Andrea was letting Del drift away like that.

“Um… Do we really need to handle this? No one will recognize him anyway.”

A conversation among the corpse collection team members nearby could be heard.

“You’ve made his face completely unrecognizable…”

“Guild leader, did you have a personal grudge against this guy? His eyes, nose, and mouth are completely crushed. Why did you beat him so badly?”

Andrea turned his head slightly to glance at the side.

Did I do that? He couldn’t remember. Andrea shrugged, then looked up at the sky again. The sky was truly beautiful.

Day 4

During mealtime, the Hunter suggested a picnic in a small forest inside the palace. He said that it was a forest created for the hunting games of the imperial family. Despite thinking it was just another expensive location, I simply nodded.”

Alan and Cain also joined us for the picnic in the forest. We spread a large and thick cloth at the edge of the forest and sat down. The attendants who followed us pulled out food and utensils from the wooden baskets and set up a lunch table. From ceramic plates and silverware to white wine and wine glasses, they had prepared so extravagantly that it was confusing whether this was a picnic.

“Such a hassle… If I had a meal potion, none of this would be necessary,” Cain grumbled.

“I am not used to luxurious meals either ,” Alan expressed subtly.

However, the Hunter, who was born as a prince and accustomed to a noble and wealthy life, seemed oblivious to the issue. I, on the other hand, was simply happy to eat delicious food in a beautiful place.

“But they put in a lot of effort, so let’s enjoy the meal,”

As I spoke, Cain and Alan fell silent.

Before picking up the fork, Alan offered a pre-meal prayer. Cain didn’t listen, but Hunter and I listened attentively and followed Alan in making the sign of the cross.

The spread on the mat included dishes like shark roe, fresh oysters, steak, crackers topped with gently sliced fish, and chicken soaked in a unique fragrant mushroom with an orange sauce. Beautiful and appetizing gourmet dishes filled the mat.

In between, small fruit puddings and chocolates were placed as snacks, and just looking at them reminded me of Andrea.

I asked the attendant who was arranging chocolates on a plate.

“Can I take some of this chocolate?”

“Of course. If you wish, I can introduce you to a chocolatier,”

The attendant replied kindly.

“No, that’s not necessary…”

“Do you like desserts?” Hunter suddenly asked.

“I eat them casually but Andrea loves sweet things very much,” I replied.

There was a moment of silence at my words. Alan and Cain seemed displeased that Andrea’s name came up, but Hunter was curious for a different reason.

“Who is Andrea?”

“Oh, he’s someone who has been with me all this time. An assassin… No, the Guild leader of the Information Guild.”

“Ah, that guy.”

Hunter took a sip of white wine and tilted his head slightly.

“Did he tell you his real name?”

“Well… maybe?”

Did he have a fake name aside from the real one? He had always presented himself with the name ‘Andrea Sloane’ in his floating information, and he willingly responded to me calling him Andrea.

“I see.”

Hunter replied briefly and took another sip of wine. However, not long after, he brought up the topic of Andrea again.

“You seem to have become quite close with him.”

We were close. He was the one I first saw after losing my memory, and also the person I spent the longest time with. We had a lot of intimate moments as well… But instead of explaining all that, I just nodded.

“Thanks to Andrea, we were able to overcome many difficulties,”

Alan interjected from the side.

“This is what he brought upon himself in the first place…”

“He did it to himself? What are you talking about?”

“How many times have I told you that the bastard is the one who kidnapped Del!…..and tried to use soul separation magic on the kid!…”

Cain expressed his anger as quietly as possible while glancing at the attendants.

“Is this true?”

Hunter asked seriously. I was going to say it was okay because I couldn’t remember the past and in fact, Andrea had treated me very well. However, Alan was quicker to respond.

“It’s true. He also saved Narcissus, but he didn’t hesitate to commit murder in front of us. It probably wasn’t good for Narcissus mentally.”

Alan looked at me with pity and murmured a prayer to himself.

“Do you wish for me to take revenge on him, Del?”

“Revenge? Why, what… No, why?”

“The guild leader seems to have caused you a lot of trouble.”

And Hunter quietly added.

“And you were quite close with him.”

The atmosphere became scary. Hunter, Alan, and Cain clearly had hostile feelings towards Andrea. I felt a bit tense.

“Andrea is a good person! If it weren’t for him, I would still be trapped in Sablum, thinking I’m an angel.”

“Hmm….”

Hunter just made a dissatisfied sound, twirling his wine glass without showing much reaction. Alan and Cain also had expressions that didn’t seem to agree.

“Wow, Mana vessel, how good of a kid are you? No matter how much you defend him, he’s nothing more than just a kidnapper and a murderer.”

“Narcissus is upholding Eura’s spirit as an example. Please refrain from using the term ‘good’ as a criticism, Lord Magic Tower”

Alan smiled warmly towards me.

“I always believe in the inner goodness of Narcissus.”

“No……”

I wasn’t siding with Andrea just because I was kind. Andrea was truly a good person. He always took care of me when I felt lonely and made my safety his top priority. He wanted me to sleep well and was secretly happy every time I smiled. Even though he didn’t show those feelings , I could tell.

He likes me so much that I’m sure he lied to me for some reason. No, regardless of whether he likes me, He is just a good person.… I wanted to defend him in that way.

However, the conversation was cut short when Hunter spilled his glass on the table. The spill of white wine caused the attendants to rush in. They swiftly replaced the stained mat, wiped Hunter’s hands with a warm towel, and poured a new glass of white wine.

“Prince Del, oysters are best eaten when they are fresh.”

Hunter handed me an oyster. I thought as I took it and slurped it into my mouth. hunter must have spilled the wine on purpose

Andrea, who couldn’t follow us to the palace, Andrea who doesn’t seem to care, Andrea who commits crimes savagely and viciously. To them, Andrea was that kind of person.

But… he wasn’t like that at all.

As I chewed on the cold and firm oyster, my chest felt more and more suffocated.
