Chapter 19

The third male protagonist and my target in “Break the Daffodil” was Prince Hunter Mellian. The reason was simple. This was because hunter was the least perverted among the male leads in the game. The likes of Kan and Alan, whom I had encountered earlier, were emotionally torn, burdened with guilt, and preached about maintaining chastity while their lower garments moved diligently. There were no hypocrites better among them.

However, Hunter had the least sexual desire among them, and he didn’t genuinely love Del Narcissus. The number of bed scenes with him in the game was also the least. He was currently seeking a politically suitable marriage partner to secure his precarious position as a crown prince. And I planned to become his perfect spouse.

I already knew how to meet him. Hunter wasn’t in the palace right now but in the Aurora Forest. Even in the game, the first encounter between the player and Hunter took place in the forest. So, all I had to do was stroll around the Aurora Forest and follow the game’s walkthrough to meet Hunter. What an easy and great plan this is.

Exiting the Aurora Forest station, I brought the confused Devan along to the shopping district. Before venturing deep into the forest, I needed to purchase supplies in advance.

“Sir Knight, you have been camping a lot, right?”

“Huh? Uh, yeah… but, master, what on earth do you mean by marriage?”

“What do we need to buy?”

“Let’s start with a tent and some food. And could you tell me why you suddenly want to get married?”

“It might be cold at night. Buy some blankets and stuff.”

“I have a coat from the North, I can use that to cover myself when sleeping. But seriously, why marriage? With whom…?”

“Excuse me, how much is this?”

Devan, busy asking for marriage blessings, wasn’t much help. I quickly bought everything I needed from the store, piled it all on Devan, and stopped at a herbal medicine store and bought a bunch of catnip grass. And I put the grass in my clothes.

“Sir Knight, I must get married. It’s a matter of life and death for me.”

I tightly held Devan’s arm. Devan’s cheek gradually turned red.

“If you oppose the marriage, let’s part ways here. I’ll go alone.”

Upon hearing my words, Devan jumped in surprise, dropped the belongings he was carrying, and knelt down.

“Why would I oppose your marriage, sir? I was just… a bit surprised. Please forgive my rudeness.”

Devan lay on the ground as if bowing with his forehead touching the floor.

“Please feel free to speak to me comfortably. You can treat me as if I were your hands and feet.”

“Well… okay then. Get up.”

I was afraid he might burst into tears if I kept silent, so I quickly gave him a hand, and Devan stood up with a bright face.

“No matter what you decide to do, I won’t be an obstacle. I won’t question anything you do from now on. Please trust Devan Fiestio.”

It still felt awkward. What kind of chivalry existed in this era, anyway? I nodded with a slightly embarrassed expression.

“Umm… understood, Devan. First, grab the luggage and follow me.”

“yes!!”

Devan swiftly picked up the baggage and followed me with light steps.

I entered the Aurora Forest with Devan. At the entrance of the forest, a path was paved for easy walking. Devan explained various fruits, mushrooms, and types of herbs that could be picked and eaten right now. He mentioned that the Narcissus family had rigorous knight training every year, which included camping experiences in the forest.

Devan’s presence shone even more as we delved deeper into the forest. He knew how to avoid wild animals in the forest, maintain body temperature, and find directions by looking at the sky.

“If it weren’t for Devan, it would have been a big problem.”

As I said that, Devan, filled with gratitude, knelt down again. He was truly an easy-to-please man.

That day, we walked for a long time. As we ventured deeper into the forest, the smell of nature became overwhelmingly intense. When the sun began to set, Devan advised that it would be a good idea to stop moving. Following his suggestion, we set up the tent, lit a fire, and prepared dinner.

“I’ll gather some fruits and mushrooms. Please rest here.”

Devan quickly disappeared as he spoke. I sat in front of the fire and idly rubbed my hands. With Devan doing everything, there wasn’t much for me to do. Still, bringing Dean along was a good decision. It’s a bit burdensome, but…I’m worried that he’ll fall in love with me, who is the daffodil of the empire…

As I thought about this and that, fiddling with the fire, I heard the sound of rustling leaves from behind. I turned my head and stood up.

“Devan, you already got everything…”

“krrrrr”

The recent beastly sound wasn’t produced by Devan. In fact, I knew of a creature that made growling noises, but it wasn’t that creature either. What appeared before my eyes was… a real wild animal.

“… Tiger, hello?”

Since I’m the person who’s been possessed here, wouldn’t there be some special benefit to it? Like being able to talk to animals or communicate…?

“Growl…”

No, there wasn’t. It was an unimpressive sound.

The tiger that walked out of the forest had a slightly exaggerated body, just the right size for a house. He was so well fed that his fur was shiny and his claws between the soles of his huge paws sparkled. However, the tiger didn’t seem satisfied or relaxed. Its face, wrinkled with a fierce expression and sharp teeth exposed, resembled that of a hungry beast. The threatening sound that continued from beginning to end was transmitted through his body.

I raised both hands and slowy stepped back.

“All right, calm down and stay there.”

However, the tiger sniffed the air, slowly approaching me. It seemed like it was sniffing a delicious smell, expressing a strong desire for something.

As the distance between the tiger and me shortened, the tiger’s expression changed. I truly realized for the first time that animals also had so many expressions. The tiger opened its eyes wide, sniffed its nose even faster, and exhaled a long breath. Then, like a real beast, it lunged at me. The shadow of the giant, heat-emitting beast covered my sight.

It was right at the moment when I was too shocked to scream and stood frozen.

“Woofu!”

As soon as someone shouted, the tiger crushed me, And sharp teeth…

lick.

Huh? Tongue…

It was moist, warm, and sticky as sharp teeth mercilessly licked the back of my neck. The tiger’s warm breath scattered on my chest.

“Are you okay?”

A young man’s voice echoed from somewhere above the tiger. Pinned under the tiger, I shouted.

“Please get it off me!”

“Woofu, get up!”

At those words, the tiger seemed disappointed, licking his mouth in regret. As I was losing my sense I felt the wide view and the cool air, the man squatted in front of me.

“Pull yourself together.”

However, as soon as I saw the man’s face, I couldn’t help but open my mouth in surprise. A handsome man with blond hair similar to mine, eyes with a mysterious purple tint, was looking down at me and above his head were familiar characters.

[Hunter Mellian / Crown Prince / Indifferent Monarch / Favorability 0]

He was the third male protagonist I was looking for. In that case, the tiger standing there must be…

“Woofu, wait.”

The Crown Prince had a companion tiger that followed him wherever he went. I couldn’t recall the name right away, but it seemed like it was something like a sneeze.

“Greetings, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.”

I quickly knelt down and prostrated myself (I learned this from Devan). The Crown Prince asked indifferently.

“Do you know who I am?”

“Of course. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and his Tiger… not knowing you and your tiger would be suspicious.”

“Raise your head.”

I slowly stood up. The Crown Prince looked at me with an expressionless face. After contemplating something in his mind for a moment, he nodded as if he remembered something.

“You’re the youngest son of Count Narcissus.”

“It’s an honor that you remember, Your Highness.”

“The Imperial Daffodil, isn’t it? I’ve seen you a few times from a distance, and, above all else…”

Hunter spoke slowly.

“Your infamous reputation precedes you.”

Did he really need to bring that up again? I wanted to give the Crown Prince a sharp glare or something, but I forced myself to close my eyes and put on a smile.

“But you, I heard you were expelled to the Ice Prison.”

Rumors spread quickly. I pondered for a moment on what to say to pique Hunter’s interest. Since Hunter, except for his tiger, had no interest or curiosity in the world, it was challenging. As I hesitated to respond, Hunter stood up.

“Well, it’s none of my business.”

After saying that, he called his tiger.

“Woofu, let’s go.”

“Rrrrrrr……”

While the tiger Woofu obediently followed Hunter, it didn’t stop growling. It was a brief moment, but I saw Hunter’s hand, extended toward Woofu, twitch.

Well, it’s a bit earlier than I thought.

“Your Highness, the Crown Prince!”

I stood up and called to Hunter.

“Is the tiger not feeling well?”
