I naturally crossed my arms in an X shape, covering my body. Since entering this damn game, the guard stance almost automatically went up. As I looked at Hunter with eyes that seemed to pierce through anything, he stared at me intently.

“Do you think I would lust after you?”

The way he said it made his face almost look like the stone Buddha, made me feel embarrassed. At the same time, Hunter’s favorability towards me increased rapidly.

Indeed, Hunter. I trusted you.

In the game, Hunter Melian was the most challenging character to conquer. He had a narrow range of emotions and never considered Del as anyone more than a political marriage partner. His increase in likeability was slow and the number of bed scenes was the lowest among the male leads. My friend who introduced the game had to retry several times to clear the game.

I also didn’t get much affection from Hunter when I was playing the game. But now that this has become reality, Hunter was truly a rare sane person with common sense. In the first place, does it make sense to love and lust after a man you’ve only met after a short period of time? I took a deep breath as my heart was boiling towards the game, Hunter sat down on the sofa in the room.

“The idea was that since there are only two people left, we should write the contract.”

As if mocking me, Woofu walked towards Hunter with a snort, and Hunter called a servant to bring paper and pen then wrote the contract in one stroke by himself.

While he was writing, Woofu came to my side, so I fed him some grass I had in my pocket. Woof wagged his tail and licked my hand. I felt Hunter glance away from his writing and looked at Woofu.

[Hunter Melian’s favorability +1!]

Pretending not to notice, I turned my attention to Woofu and did my best to act friendly.

“Hey. You’re cute…”

As I scratched Woof’s warm and soft chin, his pink nose gently flushed. Indeed, Woof was a pretty cute looking tiger. He looks like he might weigh around a ton, and his fangs could easily crush human bones, but his large pupils and silky fur made him look adorable.

“Woofu.”

I whispered softly to Woof’s fuzzy ears.

“Can I call you Woofu, too, Mr. Tiger?”

I asked Hunter with innocent eyes, as if unable to resist the cuteness of the tiger. Hunter looked at me as if assessing something, then nodded.

“Everyone calls him Woofu, but you don’t need to elevate it. Now, that you will be my fiancée.”

As he said that, he handed me a paper. The contract, written in beautiful handwriting, contained simple terms:

Contract:

1. Hunter Melian and Del Narcissus have a one-year engagement period followed by a one-year marriage period.

2. Immediate divorce upon the expiration of the agreed-upon period.

3. Hunter Melian is obligated to protect Del Narcissus for two years.

4. This contract is to be kept confidential.

“Wow…”

“Why is that?”

“Isn’t this calligraphy?”

I shook the contract, which seemed as if it had just been printed by a printer. Hunter raised an eyebrow slightly.

“Cal…ligraphy?”

“You write really well.”

There’s nothing wrong with praising to increase favorability. I enthusiastically complimented his handwriting with that thought in mind. However, this time, Hunter’s favorability did not increase. Instead, he looked at me strangely and said,

“Perfect for getting not scammed somewhere, Del. Let’s see the contents of the contract.”

Well, that was true.

But the straightforward contents of the contract didn’t seem to have anything to be concerned about. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I went through the contract again. However, I noticed one missing part.

“Why didn’t you include this? It’s about my approval ratings, I will bring. If I don’t achieve a certain percentage of approval ratings, the contract becomes void or something…Isn’t there a needed clause like that?”

“That would be very detrimental for you.”

Now Hunter was treating me as if I were a baby. What should I do with a young master who doesn’t know anything about this world. It was the exact expression. I snapped and shouted.

“The contract should be written fairly! Without that clause, it’s a disadvantage for his Highness the Crown Prince.”

“You have a strong sense of justice.”

Hunter said sarcastically. But, his face was so peaceful that it even sounded like a compliment.

“I intentionally left it out. Just fixing Woof is enough value for this contract, as far as I see it.”

As he said that, he tapped his forehead with the end of the pen.

“Think only about what benefits you. Consider it advice.”

I, too, wasn’t an entirely naive and good-natured guy. I had no intention of insisting on fixing something that would be advantageous for me. I quietly placed the contract on the table. Hunter handed me the pen as if he had been waiting. I used the pen to carefully write ‘Del Narcissus.’ Hunter also signed his name.

With this, I entered into a contract with Hunter. I smiled and held out my hand to him.

From now on, I was determined to do everything I could to raise Hunter’s favorability. Of course, while avoiding 19+ content!

Let’s give it a try.

***

What’s the easiest way to win someone’s heart? You could treat them kindly, keep showing up in front of them, or bombard them with gifts. However, as a player in this game, I could confidently say that the easiest way to win someone’s heart is by probing their weaknesses.

On the night we signed the contract, I secretly slipped out of my room. And leisurely strolled around the Crown Prince’s residence. The back of the garden was adorned with beautiful flower trees, and the night sky above, filled with stars that were high and distant. The sweet fragrance enveloped the entire area.

“Hmm… it’s a bit regrettable to just stroll around here.”

Even though no one was in sight, I murmured that. I thought that Hunter’s escort knights must be listening from somewhere.

I turned back and walked lightly. As I entered a narrow pathway with a row of rose bushes behind the garden. I accidentally touched the rose of bushes next to me with my fingertips, if anyone saw this it gave the appearance of a noble young master enjoying a night stroll.

Once I passed through the pathway, another garden appeared. It was an even more luxurious place than the back garden of the Crown Prince’s residence. I ran excitedly towards a purple flower tree. When I looked closely, I saw that it was not a flower but small rounded fruits clustered together like flowers.

“It looks cute…”

I lightly brushed the surface of the fruits with my fingertips. They felt bumpy yet bouncy. I was truly enjoying the moment, when a voice I had been waiting for came from behind.

“These are fairy fruit trees.”

I pretended to be surprised and turned around to see a beautiful middle-aged woman in a white nightgown dress with a thick robe standing there.

“I’ve never seen you before. You’re as beautiful as a flower.”

The Woman approached me, admiring my face. Without hesitation, she reached out her hand to smooth out my cheek.

“Captivating enough to be kept in my garden.”

She said with a faint smile.

“Are you a newcomer? Not from my palace, right? the Crown Prince’s palace?”

“Yes, Your Majesty the Queen?”

I already knew that she was Hunter’s mother and the Queen of the Melian Empire, but I acted genuinely surprised.

Then, I quickly knelt and pressed my lips to the Queen’s hand.

“I greet Your Majesty the Queen. I apologize for entering without realizing this is Your Majesty’s palace.”

As I recited the prepared lines, the Queen sat down beside me, paying no attention to my apology. She thoroughly examined my facial features and seemed delighted.

“Truly beautiful and delicate. A bit exotic, too.”

“Th-thank you.”

“Won’t you come into my service as a servant”

The Queen asked kindly. I looked bewildered and stammered in response.

“I’m sorry, but I’m not a queen. I’m… a friend of His Highness the Crown Prince.”

“A friend of Hunter’s?”

This time, she seemed genuinely surprised.

“He can’t possibly have friends.”

You saw it correctly, Hunter’s mom.

Internally agreeing, I awkwardly smiled on the outside.

“Actually, I’m soon to be engaged to the Crown Prince. Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Del Narcissus, the second son of Count Narcissus.”

This time, it was the Queen’s turn to be utterly surprised. After learning about my identity, she became rather upset. Her face looked as if something had leaked out.

<If he’s the fiance of that child and a noble from the Melian Empire, then he’s definitely from here>

She muttered in a foreign language. With that, the Queen got up from her spot and turned around, as if she had finished her business with me. I also rose to my feet and spoke to her as she left.

<Yes, but you know the language of Teheit, don’t you?>

The Queen stopped and turned to me abruptly. Her eyes were twice as wide as before, and her plump, thick lips parted.

<How…>

How do I know the language of the fallen country, Teheit, from 20 years ago?

Well, that’s because Hunter was the son of the Queen, who was the princess of Teheit. Since the male protagonist was born with Teheit blood, it was only natural for the player who would try to conquer the male protagonist to speak the language of Teheit.

It’s all for the sake of love, a crazy game driven by love!
