Chapter 32

There were definitely moments like this in the game. Moments of intimacy with a mob character whose face and body were shadowed. However, for players who disliked extras other than the male lead, there was a skip button for such events. Remembering this, I mentally shouted ‘Skip’ in hopes that it would work.

“Or is it better to do it outdoors?”

The Second Prince laughed slyly and lightly played with my earlobe. Given the current situation, it seemed like the ‘Skip’ command wasn’t getting through at all.

In the end, I had to open my mouth and shout.

“Skip! Skip! You damn game bastard! Skip!”

As I yelled, the Second Prince momentarily looked shocked and covered my mouth with his large hand. Unlike the Crown Prince’s, it was incredibly soft and squishy.

“Mmm!”

“Be quiet, Narcissus, we wouldn’t want our private time to be interrupted.”

The Second Prince kept one hand covering my mouth and grabbed the back of my head with the other, pulling me somewhere. His grip was so strong that it felt like my head would explode. His face showed excitement and anticipation, even bordering on looking ecstatic.

And in my mind, only one sentence came up.

This is not a game.

Yes, this was no longer a game. It was reality. Unutterable terror washed over me. Breathing became difficult.

I twisted my body, shook my legs wildly, and resisted more fiercely. I tried to make sounds through my blocked lips, and saliva dripped from around my mouth and jaw. As I struggled more violently than expected, the Second Prince seemed embarrassed.

“Why are you acting like a newbie? We’ve done it outdoors before, haven’t we?”

Stop the bullshit and let go, you bastard!

I unleashed a stream of curses with my eyes and drove my nails deep into the Second Prince’s wrist. Still, he didn’t flinch. Instead, his face, now adorned with a creepy smile as if he liked the look in my eyes.

“Huut!”

The Second Prince tightly grasped the front of my pants. In response to the sudden pressure and pain, I screamed, and he sucked on my earlobe with a wet sound.

“Feels good, doesn’t it?”

I learned for the first time that if someone hits you too hard, you might hear a ringing sound in your ears.

“It hurts! It hurts, you son of a…!”

That’s when it happened.

“Ugh!”

A flash of red light burst from the back of the Second Prince’s head, and he suddenly collapsed. Behind him, someone was standing.

[Cain / Lord of the Magic Tower / Whimsical Genius / Favorability 5]

This time, Cain was dressed as a maid. His appearance was so ordinary that it seemed strangely foreign compared to the splendid palace.

“Uh… that…”

Moreover, she, no, he looked confused. It seemed like the sudden transformation of a mere maid using magic looked quite strange.

“Just now, it wasn’t me… it was some passing magician…”

Cain rambled on and then closed his mouth. He messed up his hair and sighed.

“Yes. Anyway, that’s what happened. I didn’t do it. Got it?”

What’s the big deal if you’re good at transformation magic? His tone didn’t sound like that of an ordinary maid. However, I didn’t want to point out his manner of speech here.

“…Thank you.”

I said, and Cain nodded hesitantly.

“Yeah, well. That guy… no. How are you going to handle this?”

Cain pointed to the fallen Second Prince with his chin.

“Should I call the knights or guards outside… or anyone else? I’ll report it.”

“Isn’t he a member of the royal family? Reporting won’t do much. What do you think?”

Cain muttered. I just stared at Cain without acknowledging his words. Soon, he raised both hands.

“Ah, understand. I’m just a regular maid.”

After uttering lines that clearly didn’t sound like those of a maid, Cain quickly disappeared somewhere and returned in less than a minute with a knight. I explained the situation to the knight and handed over the Second Prince.

“This matter will be inquired by His Highness the Crown Prince later, so you should take care of the Second Prince until then.”

I didn’t forget to emphasize the authority of someone higher than me to ensure there was no room for misinterpretation. The word ‘Crown Prince’ made the knight straighten his military posture, and while acknowledging my words, he carefully carried away the unconscious Second Prince as if cradling a baby.

Once the knight completely vanished from sight, my legs went weak. As I slumped to the corridor floor, Cain, who had been watching me from a distance, approached.

“Even if the Second Prince receives punishment, it’ll probably just be a few days of probation. Aren’t you angry?”

‘Second Prince.’ How could a maid address a noble in such a way?

“I don’t have the personal authority to punish him. It should be left to the royal guards, knights, or His Highness the Crown Prince.”

I smiled weakly and answered. Cain, twirling the end of the black ribbon attached to his maid’s attire with his finger, asked.

“Still, Narcissus you’re practically a noble, aren’t you?”

“I’ll soon discard my title as a noble. No, perhaps it’s already discarded.”

After saying that, I leaned against the wall and slowly stood up. Then, I stared directly into the eyes of the petite maid in front of me.

“Because I’m about to enter the Magic Tower. Doctor.”

As soon as I finished speaking, the maid’s expression changed. The muscles on her face suddenly sank and the air became heavy creating a strange sense of fear, different from the fear I felt when dragged away by the Second Prince earlier.

“You know who I am.”

The maid’s voice, neither high nor low, penetrated into my ears.

“I knew it from the moment we first met.”

“Since the time I imitated the kid?”

“Yes.”

“Hmm, you’re quite amusing, really. Is it because of your peculiar mana?”

The maid stretched her lips into a long smile. The thin rosy lips suddenly flipped downwards. The skin surrounding her facial features melted away like mud washed by rain, and a red glow swirled around her entire body, dazzlingly bright.

After squinting for a moment and opening my eyes again, a man much taller than me stood there. The maid from before was nowhere to be seen. With fiery red hair cascading down his forehead, the man who appeared almost magically had a charming mischievous smile on his handsome face.

“No one recognized my transformation magic except Heron. As expected, you understand the value of mana.”

Cain looked exactly how he appeared in the game, he was much more lively than when seen on screen, and what should I say, a little…

“Why are you going to the Tower? How are you going to get there?”

He had the attitude of a teenage delinquent.

“Mana deficiency”

As I briefly explained, Cain chuckled as if finding it amusing.

“I didn’t hear what I said earlier? If you get Mana deficiency, you’ll die.”

“I won’t really get it. I’ll pretend to have it.”

“Hey. That sounds amusing. Why should I help you with that?”

“I heard you were interested in my mana.”

To sum up Cain’s character in one word, he was a maniac about magic. At the age of twenty, he climbed to the position of the Tower Master despite facing a strong political backlash. He didn’t care about that at all as long as he could freely explore the magic he wanted.

Cain, who occupied the top floor of the Tower with his outstanding magical abilities and innate amount of mana, always sought new magic to pique his interest. And perhaps this time, it was me. A peculiar human in this world with a mana different from others due to the possession. He must be eager to experiment and study me.

Cain erased his smile at my words and looked at my face seriously. Then, he shrugged his shoulders and reached into his robe, poking around for a while before finally pulling something out. It was a small triangular bottle containing a red potion.

“Drink this. You’ll experience symptoms similar to Mana deficiency. Dizziness, loss of vitality, and even if you check your pulse, you won’t feel it properly because the mana will be entangled.”

Entangled?

I glared at Cain with an untrustworthy look on his face, but he, with eyes shining like a child, pushed the potion towards me.

“It takes about an hour for the potion to take effect. Now, drink.”

I took the potion but didn’t drink it immediately. This potion could be something that would actually give me Mana deficiency. Or perhaps, it could be a potion to make me lose consciousness. From Cain’s perspective, the goal was just to get me to the Tower by any means necessary. The fact that such a potion appeared from his clothes as if it were prepared in advance was suspicious.

As I hesitated while looking at the potion bottle, Cain grumbled.

“If you’re going to drink it, drink it quickly. I have to transform again before people arrive.”

I looked up at Cain. Among the floating titles above his head, the one that read ‘Whimsical Genius’ particularly caught my attention.

“My life is at stake.”

“If you take the antidote, everything will be fine. You won’t even have to risk your life.”

“I’ll trust you and take it. Just don’t play any tricks with me.”

Cain paused for a moment at my words. After speaking, I immediately swallowed the potion.
