Chapter 4

As expected of the game protagonist, he was a pervert with tendencies that couldn’t be understood. Was this bastard, by any chance, designed as a sadist…?

When I cast a suspicious glance at Khan, he chuckled.

“You shouldn’t see the person holding your life line that way.”

Right, I naturally relaxed my gaze, blinking innocently as if my eyelids were fluttering.

He laughed at my seemingly pitiful demeanor and then leaned back in his seat, sitting leisurely. However, even a beast without strength remained a beast. I kept my guard up, protecting the knight lying next to me.

“Isn’t he like your jailer? You take so good care of it. Could he be your lover?”

Khan asked in a casual tone. I was about to say that, as a human, one should help when someone’s life is in danger. But before I could speak, a selection screen appeared.

1. (Raising an eyebrow) Yes, he’s my lover. Are you jealous?

2. (With tears rolling down his face) How can you mistake this lowlife for my lover?

3. (Taking off clothes) Should I make you my second lover too?

What are these insane choices? I tried to regain my composure, chewing my lip carefully. The first option was incomprehensible and passed. The second option was the epitome of absurdity, so I passed on that too. The third option… What kind of madness is this? Just as I hesitated, the horrifying sentence appeared again.

[If not selected, the Bed Scene will start automatically.]

I anxiously read the choices repeatedly, and tearfully chose option 2. Silently chanting ‘Option 2!’, the selection screen disappeared, and my mouth began to move on its own.

“How could… mistake this lowlife, hm, for my lover?”

As if pressing a button, tears even welled up on their own. Seeing Khan’s eyes, dangerously sharp after hearing my outrageous remark, he stared at me before slyly lifting one corner of his mouth.

Why, why are you looking at me like that…?

Lowering my gaze in fear, I couldn’t help but notice in the middle of his widely spread, muscular thigh, something swelling up in real-time.

What… Did it rise on its own without anyone waking it up?

Haha. Why on earth?

Hahaha.

“Well, I’m going out! I’ll walk! Could you please open the door for a moment…?”

I urgently pushed the carriage door and shouted, but Khan in front of me casually interrupted my words.

“Freezing to death? Just stay here.”

Khan’s voice was slightly hoarse. The gaze, filled with his explicit desire, pierced through me. Quickly, the temperature inside the carriage seemed to rise. I wasn’t sure what triggered it, but Khan was clearly desiring me now.

This guy, is the type to get excited about the insurmountable class difference?

Realistic fear hit me from behind. If the game’s original story unfolded, I would soon become the prey of this beast inside the carriage, even with a dying person next to me.

That’s absolutely not going to happen.

“Hey, what was your name again?”

Khan licked his lips with his tongue and asked in a low voice. For a moment, it felt like I heard a growling sound. Is he really a beast? Why is he making a growling sound…?

“Del… Narcissus.”

I replied while trembling. Khan silently rolled my name around in his mouth, then smiled as if he liked it.

“Del Narcissus, Khan Alexis. Our names are quite similar. I like it.”

Not at all similar. You’re Khan, and I’m Del.

As I shook my head desperately, he swept his ash-colored hair back.

“I’ll give you a test question. Come here.”

“I’ll take an F. Just give me a zero.”

“I’m telling you to sit on my lap right now.”

“I request a zero for my answer.”

“Stop talking nonsense and do it quickly.”

Although Khan was staring at me with a calm face, his eyes were half-distracted. It seemed like he was swallowed by the flames of desire. His handsome, boyish face showed no sign of blush, but I could sense it. The moment he touched me even a bit, he would literally devour me.

So, I made a once-in-a-lifetime decision.

“I beg you to please take care of that knight!”

As soon as I said that, I grabbed the carriage doorknob and turned it. Before Khan could catch me, I jumped out of the carriage. It’s not a car or a carriage, so I won’t die. That was my calculation.

My body flew out of the carriage and rolled on the ground. Fortunately, the snow was piled high, so it didn’t hurt much. The cold was more intense than the pain. I slowly got up, my ears ringing from the terrible sound of the wind. Opening my eyes was harder than I thought.

I shouldn’t have gotten off. I should have just closed my eyes and let Khan touch me. That was the regret that hit me. The cold was so merciless that it made me regret my decision. I struggled to take a step. My frozen feet, harder than the boots I wore, hit the inside of the frozen boots with a clunk.

Maybe I should… just die here? Perhaps I’ll be able to leave this world.

“Is it recklessness or stupidity? Or both?”

“Well, you hear voices you shouldn’t. Indeed, I’m rapidly dying right now. I gave up moving my feet and just let my body go limp. My body easily fell forward, following the direction of the wind. It was the moment when my body was about to slump forward according to the laws of nature. Suddenly, something black and solid popped up from the front and caught my body.

“Even if you jump off, I’ll stop the carriage and come back. Where were you going?”

I looked up at Khan’s handsome face, which seemed to be two heads above me, and closed my eyes with a peaceful smile. I’ll just die here.

“Did you faint?”

Khan grabbed my cheeks with one hand and shook my head from side to side. It must have been a gentle shake, but I felt like I was being bounced like a rubber ball.

“Ugh…”

Making strange noises, I opened my eyes, and Khan burst into laughter loudly. Hahaha. It was a hearty and boyish laughter that didn’t match his large size.

“Nobles from the South can’t withstand this cold. I won’t touch you, so be quiet and let’s go.”

With that, he lifted me up onto his shoulders, just as he did with the injured knight earlier. I leaned my cheek against his broad back, which was now upside down. The area around the cheek that Khan had held felt slightly warm.

How strong is this guy?

Still, it seemed he had given up on attacking me. If that’s the case, it was worth jumping off the carriage. I sniffled, lying quietly on Khan’s shoulders. I didn’t want to squirm and hear nonsense like ‘You provoked it first.’

After only a few steps, Khan quickly opened the carriage door. It seemed like the carriage had stopped shortly after I jumped off.

I thought he would leave me.

Contemplating Khan’s decision, whether to be thankful or resentful, I went back into the carriage and sat down. Khan, sitting across from me, raised both hands when our eyes met.

“Don’t touch.”

Then he added, “We need to get to the castle before the knight dies.”

I subtly moved closer to the knight sitting next to me. He seems to have a conscience prioritizing the dying person. In that case, my lifeline is here.

The knight, lying inside the warm carriage, looked better than before. Perhaps being in the warm carriage helped. His face was no longer as pale, and blood wasn’t flowing as much.

Khan restarted the carriage and curiously asked me, “What’s the relationship between you and that knight?”

“…We don’t have any relationship.”

“But why do you look at him so affectionately?”

“I just happened to see him.”

Khan laughed heartily again at my response. His way of speaking was amusing. He chuckled as he mumbled.

At the same time, a sentence popped up above his head.

[Khan Alexis’s favorability has increased by +3!]

‘He finds many things amusing.’

Certainly, the character seemed to be designed with both laughter and tears. I wondered if I would ever see this man cry. The thought made my expression involuntarily frown. In the game, Khan only cried in the R-rated scenes. It was strictly forbidden for me to witness that man’s tears.

The carriage gradually slowed down. Beyond the carriage window, a massive and heavy wooden door, connected by iron chains, slowly descended like a bridge. It was the main gate of the grand castle, also known as the Ice Prison.

The potentially R-rated situation in the carriage was somehow avoided. However, the real minefield was the Ice Prison itself. I gazed at the majestic and imposing exterior of the grand castle with determined eyes.

The Ice Prison! The den of beasts driven mad by lust! I had to escape from that dreadful place.

Khan had promised me a one-week trial period. Those who passed the trial were left in the grand castle as tools to satisfy lust, while those who failed were banished to the outside as “trash” in the so-called “Trash Village.”

My goal was to go to that Trash Village. Once I landed there, Khan wouldn’t care whether I lived or escaped.

The carriage passed through the main gate and entered the inner part of the grand castle, coming to a complete stop shortly afterward. When the steward waiting outside opened the door, Khan leaped out first.

He extended his hand to me.

“Come on. Get off.”
