Andrea set me down in a small clearing that seemed to be midway up the mountain. There was a small cabin there. He skillfully opened the cabin door and entered. Although no one was inside the cabin, traces of human presence were scattered around.

“It’s a place hunters often use. It’s like a public property in the Studdle Mountains.”

He added that it wasn’t trespassing.

I sat on a wooden chair in the corner. My ankle was swollen and the skin was stinging more and more. As I examined my ankle, Andrea, sticking his tongue out, began rummaging through the cupboard.

“There should be bandages here somewhere… It would be good to put on a splint.”

After opening and closing the cupboard a few times, he indeed found a clean bandage. He took one of the logs stacked in front of the cabin, sharpened it with a dagger, and crafted a flat splint of appropriate thickness.

“Fortunately, you’re from the Magic Tower. When you go back, be sure to get healing magic.”

He said as he fixed my ankle with the splint and wrapped it with bandages. His touch in handling wounds was very skillful, probably a natural skill for an assassin.

Andrea tied the bandage into a perfect ribbon. When I tilted my head in amazement, he chuckled.

“May your wound heal beautifully.”

I must have made a somewhat sentimental expression because Andrea scratched the back of his head awkwardly. As if changing the subject, he brought up a new topic.

“Aren’t you hungry? It would be good to eat something, but there’s nothing here.”

As he said that, he searched the ceiling again.

“Um… Can we just quickly send up a smoke signal? The group might be worried…”

I timidly called out to him. Andrea’s hands, diligently rummaging through the cupboard, stopped. He turned to me with a gentle smile, his pink eyes narrowing.

“You seem quite close with your party.”

That was undoubtedly jealousy with the favorability of 75. Although he had a faint smile on his face, deep down, he might be planning an assassination on Cain.

“Not close at all.”

I answered immediately. Andrea nodded satisfactorily.

“Right? As expected…”

He chuckled with a dazzlingly bright smile, then closed the cupboard with a slightly excited look.

“I’m going to start a fire in the oven. If we produce smoke from the chimney, your party will probably catch on.”

True to his words, he lit the oven. His skill in igniting fire with stones without using magic was excellent. Watching him bring firewood from outside and kindle the flames, my mind calmed down a bit. The sound of crackling flames echoed warmly.

Now, all problems would disappear once Cain arrived. Cain would fix my ankle, suggest returning to the Magic Tower, and I will ask for magic lessons in a different field instead of offensive spells. Cain would grumble, but he would likely comply with my requests. I pondered deeply. Was this a form of escape too? It didn’t seem much like fleeing.

Clap.

Andrea clapped his hands in front of me. Startled by the loud sound, I widened my eyes and moved backward. He gathered his hands and laughed, looking a bit mischievous.

“Haha, sorry. Your face seemed so serious that I unconsciously wanted to interrupt.”

I looked up at the man standing in front of me, slightly tilting his back. There was no shadow on his face as he revealed his teeth and laughed. He didn’t seem like someone hiding a massive secret or someone ready to kill in the darkness. He was just a young man in his early twenties, adding good looks and masculinity, wearing the armor of a knight. He appeared like the embodiment of a righteous and cheerful lad. Despite having 75 favorability points, he didn’t seem to have the demeanor of someone who would harm me. His clear and refreshing atmosphere left a strong impression.

“No need to apologize. I couldn’t say it earlier, but thank you for saving me.”

I bowed my head slightly and expressed my gratitude to him. But then it happened.

“Thank… you?”

Andrea’s laughter faded a bit, and then.

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has decreased by -2!]

What…?

Why did his favorability decrease after hearing a thankful greeting?

I stared at him strangely and spoke up again.

“I mean it. If you hadn’t saved me, I would have become monster food. I’m deeply grateful.”

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has decreased by -3!]

Huh. It dropped again.

“Haha. Why are you being awkward like this?”

Andrea, with a good-natured laugh, turned away. He casually gathered firewood with his hands. Thud, thud. The flames consumed the pieces of wood, dancing vividly. Shadows beneath him swayed in sync with the fire.

I sensed something.

I cleared my throat and pulled an empty chair beside me.

“Knight, please sit here. Your leg must be hurting.”

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has decreased by -2!]

“Isn’t it too hot by the fire? Should I take over?”

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has decreased by -1!]

“What if sparks fly and hit you? If you get hurt, I’ll be heartbroken.”

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has decreased by -3!]

Every time I said something kind, his favorability steadily dropped. From there, I became certain.

This guy is a sadist.

Yes, there was no way there wouldn’t be an SM play in an R-rated game. Even though it wasn’t in the settings while playing, in the existence of hidden endings, one couldn’t definitively say that Andrea Sloane wasn’t a masochist.

Ugh, you perverts… They’re into all sorts of things.

Unable to hide my cold face, I crossed my arms and looked at him at an angle.

Andrea slowly placed the firewood back in its place and turned around. He made eye contact with me and as if he didn’t want to, he unwillingly met my eyes.

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has increased by +2!]

“Look at this? Are you getting excited because I’m scolding you? The favorability is skyrocketing. I couldn’t help but let out a forced chuckle.

“Knight, would you prefer it if I treated you poorly?”

“Whatever makes you comfortable.”

“What the…”

Is he suggesting doing an SM play while my ankle is injured? If that’s the case, the surely the system…

Ding-dong.

1. (With tears in eyes) How can I treat the knight so poorly?

2. Then kneel, you son of a bitch.

3. Shut up and lick my feet.

No, aren’t options 2 and 3 too convenient?

Feeling awkward, I looked at the choices, and the countdown began. No matter how comfortable he told me to be disrespectful, I couldn’t tell an assassin who saved me, to kneel or lick my feet. So, I chose option 1. Soon, my eyes became hot, and tears welled up.

How can I treat the knight so poorly?

“….”

[Andrea Sloane’s favorability has decreased by -3!]

Now Andrea’s favorability was 63. If I had chosen options 2 or 3, his favorability would have likely increased. Anyway, the main character I was going to conquer was Cain, and Andrea’s high favorability was burdensome, so it wasn’t a bad outcome.

“Magician.”

Andrea stared at me piercingly and spoke with a sweet voice that was almost ticklish.

“Have you recently suffered a head injury?”

“…Yes?”

“Or perhaps you lost your memory for some reason.”

“I haven’t.”

“Hmm, or maybe when you fell off the cliff earlier, you were so shocked that your personality changed?”

“Yes? What…”

I suddenly closed my mouth. ‘Personality has changed’. I realized what he was talking about.

That I am different from the original Del Narcissus.

Andrea’s jewel-like pink eyes scanned me slowly. The favorability of 63 shone above his head, feeling strangely close.

Earlier, I was injured, terrified, and didn’t have time to think carefully, but now it seemed like I needed to touch upon it. Why was his favorability 75 from the beginning? It wasn’t a mistake in the favorability system, and he didn’t fall for me at first sight. He genuinely liked Del Narcissus from the game, the arrogant and promiscuous Narcissus of the Empire. Andrea sincerely liked ‘that’ Del Narcissus, not me. He had liked Del Narcissus from the beginning until the favorability reached 75.

However, considering his introduction to me, it didn’t seem like they had known each other. In other words, this was Andrea’s one-sided crush. Andrea’s story had been unfolding in the game even before I entered.

“You know about me.”

I managed to speak with a trembling voice.

“Well, who wouldn’t know the Imperial Daffodil of the Empire? Moreover, you’re the talk of the town these days. Expelled to the Ice Prison, and within a month, revealing yourself as the Crown Princess, not to mention turning into a magician. If you don’t know the person who showed up like this, it’s suspicious.”

He spoke so vividly about my past. When I just rolled my eyes without saying anything, Andrea cheerfully continued.

“Now then, would you like to answer now, Magician?”

His eyes sparkled.

“Why did you become an entirely different person?”
