Chapter 214: The Pridid Trial

Within the corridor, there was now complete silence.
Ye Qian was on his knees while his face regained its normal colour.
By now it had only been not more than about 2 minutes and all of the men who came here were dead, without any signs of their death as well.
Ye Qian gasped for a mouthful of air while he wiped the sweat off his head.
This was really very taxing for him.
But since he had promised his little girls then he would never back off.
Ye Qian stood up while looking at the Pridid Fire Serpent which had its body coiled into a barrel-like structure and was swaying its head while looking at Ye Qian.
The head of the Fire Serpent was similar to that of a normal snake besides that there were three eyes on its head.
There was a special significance for it though.
The third eye was mostly closed and would only open when the snake was about to devour someone thus engulfing the person with its flame.
As of now, it was open only to receive Ye Qian's orders, though it had its own consciousness, it would still not do anything unless Ye Qian would tell him to.
Ye Qian smiled wryly, he remembered that this was the most gruesome punishment giving things which were created by the God Of Death and even he had stumbled upon it just by chance, for one to understand the way of practising the Pridid Fire one needed to have a heart without corruption.
But that was what he understood later when he wanted to teach it to someone he found out that the one person whom he thought this Art had died with flames engulfing his whole body.
This was what made Ye Qian understand that it was not something he should readily teach someone.
And in fact, the one who died was one of his friends in the Greater Heaven who in the face of power and riches dealt with a false lawsuit, and he was burnt with his would being disintegrated even when he was one of the Golden Immortal, but that was when Ye Qian had not met any of his disciples either.
And now that the Pridid Fire Serpent was staring at him with all his three eyes opened he knew that something was not right here.
Ye Qian nodded while the snake uncoiled its body while it slid to Ye Qian while coiling its whole body around whim thus engulfing him in its body of flame.
Meanwhile, Ye Qian had a serene expression on his face with his eyes closed.
The Serpent, had by now coiled Ye Qian's body completely while its all three eyes were open while it continued to stare at Ye Qian with piercing gaze.
Ye Qian knew that this was going to be his trial now so he was completely calm now, he had gone through the same when he had found Qing'er back after she was taken away by the people of the Evil Sect.
That time he had also experienced the same but that time he was not as calm and collected as if now, but there was something different this time compared to back then.
At that time though the Serpent was the same fire one this one seemed to have more of the consciousness than the last time.
As if it was not the same Pridid Fire Serpent from the last time.
There was a thing that Pridid Fire could be made into any kind of Animal from the mightiest Dragons to the simplest Butterfly's, but the amount of Power was what really mattered if one wanted to make a different kind of animal from it since the animal would have increased in the strength as the caster made it with more of the power to supply it.
Ye Qian was already exhausted from summoning this 5 meters long Fire Serpent, much less having the power to go against it since the Pridid Fire would attach itself to the one who would cast it.
Ye Qian stood there as the Serpent continued to stare at him with his third eye.
"HISS"
After a few seconds, it hissed.
It then closed its eyes and then engulfed Ye Qian with its mouth opened into a large maw.
Within no time, there was nothing of Ye Qian, which could be seen.
Now there was complete silence within the corridor.
With the only exception of the Pridid Fire Serpent, which was now completely still as it had its head tall while all its three eyes were closed.
If one were to see it now they would only think of it as a fire column and nothing else.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian opened his eyes while looking around.
He saw that all the surroundings were red in colour while there were many fire mountains surrounding all over the place.
There were a few firebirds and animals as well.
"QUEEK QUEEK"
Just a few seconds later a small sparrow made of fire hopped on Ye Qian's shoulder while looking at him with her head tilted sideways.
It seemed confused by seeing someone who was not red but was still here, as everyone it had seen so far here was red.
"Hello there."
Ye Qian lips curved into a soft smile as he brought his hand and rubbed the lower part of the Fire Sparrow's neck.
"QUEEEEK"
The small Fire Sparrow chirped in delight with its eyes closed while Ye Qian rubbed her neck while flattering her tiny wings.
"So there is someone worthy of being able to accept my Pridid Fire without getting burned themselves."
A loud booming sound echoed throughout the world as the voice travelled around and reverberated while it smashed the many so mountains of fires.
The small Fire Sparrow who was playing on Ye Qian's shoulder quivered in fear and hid while getting into his shoulder while covering her head with her wings/
"Get ready for the Pridid Trial the one who has it."
