Ian and the other envoys from the Gobaldo Republic stayed in the village for a few days.
They were shocked at an almost constant rate during their stay, but before long, it was time for them to depart.
“Were we able to show you anything you can use?”
“But of course! I thank you ever so much!”
“I see. Great then. Feel free to come back anytime.”
The envoys thanked the village chief Luke again like the many times they had before and then departed.
Much like how they arrived in the village, the envoy’s plan was to ride the train until they reached the kingdom’s borders. However…
“Why don’t I have a body double teleport you there instead?”
Luke said so and in an instant, the envoys found themselves at the border.
After the double returned, Ian heaved a heavy sigh as though to expel all the tension within her.
“All things considered, that was an incredible place. It’s far beyond what I expected…”
“Indeed. And all of it was because of that boy’s Gift…”
One of the envoys agreed, but Ian shook her head to deny it.
“No, not all of it. Certainly, a lot of it is because of the Gift. But I think he was able to make the place that great only because of the support of the villagers who adore him. Luke-sama has the charm to do so…which is no surprise, after all—”
Ian paused, took a deep breath, then shouted with all her might.
“Luke-sama’s so, so cuttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttteeee!!!”
While huffing through the nose, Ian proclaimed so with intense emotions.
“Ah, Luke-sama! You’ve awakened my maternal instincts! You wish to grow taller!? I say no! Stay as you are! You’re obviously better that way!”
“I-Ian-sama, calm yourself please…!”
“Huh? Oh, I apologize. I’ve forgotten myself there.”

At the sight of their leader losing her mind at such a young age, the other envoys were speechless.
“Ahem. Of course, people are drawn to him not only because of his appearance. Another reason for it is his splendid character. And so, as much as it pains me to take advantage of him…let us return home and think of our course of action. We don’t have much time left. No matter how, we must curry favor with Luke-sama so that we can borrow his power…”

After seeing off the envoys, I came to the training grounds.
“Hah, hah, hah…t-this is quite intense…!”
While making some rather loud noise, Akane-san was running on a machine.
This machine which was developed only recently allowed one to continuously run in place. About ten of such running machines were set up within the training grounds. They were quite popular, especially to women who wanted to lose some weight.
It would seem Akane-san, who had gained weight due to her indulging a bit too much on the village’s food, was another person wanting to get back into shape through the use of the machine.
“But this is nothing! Haa! Beating my lax mind into shape will surely make me fit again! *munch**munch**munch*”
“Hold onnnnn!!”
I shouted so without thinking.
“What is it, Luke-dono? As you told me, I’m disciplining my mind and working on getting myself into shape!”
“Then, what is that on your hands?”
“This is…to supply me with my nutrition!”
“I mean, sure, you still have to eat when you’re working on reducing your weight…but that’s clearly too much!”
On her hands as she was on the running machine were doughnuts.
Yes, doughnuts, as in more than one. On her right, she held 5; on her left she held 4.
Given their chocolate and sugar coatings, they were assuredly high-calorie food items.
“There’s the problem with how many you have, but more than that, doughnuts aren’t something you’d eat when dieting in the first place, are they?”
