Many performances were held in the theater found in the building we were in.
Particularly impressive among those performances was a dance performed by some pretty girls. Wearing what I assumed to be Gobaldo’s national costume, they danced to the tune of some solemn music.
Maybe because it was a gathering of good-looking girls, but Noel-kun let a murmur of ‘so cute…’ escape his lips.
“Those girls are a selected few members of the dancing ladies, a dancing troupe our nation is proud to have. They have mentioned that they would absolutely love to meet you, Luke-sama. So, I’m sorry to ask this, but might you spare them some of your time?”
“Huh? I don’t mind, I guess…”
Ian-san suggested so after the performance, and I agreed. Selen sent me a sharp glare, but what else could I have done? It would have been rude to refuse.
And so, we were guided to a waiting room of sorts. After a little while, 15 girls walked in.
“Ahh! It’s Luke-sama!”
“Kyaa! He’s as cool as I imagined him to be!”
“Yeah, he’s even more fantastic than the rumors say he is!”
As soon as the girls saw me, they all squealed.
“Did I just hear them say I’m cool…?”
I had always been called cute but never cool, so I was fairly certain I was mishearing things.

It turned out that I heard right the first time.

I thought they were just flattering me, but when I looked closely, I noticed that the girls were all shorter than me.
No, these girls must be, what, 10 to 12 years old? So, they think I’m tall only because they’re assuming I’m the same age as them, right?
“By the way, all of these girls are 13 to 15 years old.”
Ian-san stealthily informed me so.
“Huh? So, they’re the same age as me?”
“Yes, Luke-sama. *(we’ve specifically selected girls who are shorter than Luke-sama for this meeting, after all!.)*”

He and I were about the same age. Until recently, we were about the same height too. However, maybe just a year ago, he shot up almost all at once. Nowadays, he had to turn his head down for us to make eye contact.

Ian-san immediately followed that up.
“From a distance, the two of you are practically of the same height!”

“There’s almost no difference!”
“If anything, your presence make you look the taller man, Luke-sama!”
