In total, there were 4 countries that neighbored with the Celtia Kingdom.

These 4 were: the Barste Kingdom, the Gobaldo Republic, the Ateri Kingdom, and the Loda Kingdom.

The Loda Kingdom was a large country located northwest of the Celtia Kingdom. Its territory and national power were said to be greater than that of Celtia’s.

It and Celtia were on bad terms since long ago, and had even clashed on the battlefield countless of times. It would seem that the fate our countries shared was that of conflict.

“Envoys from the Loda Kingdom have arrived and want to meet me…?”

“Indeed. Bear in mind, we have rarely received envoys and the like from their nation.”

I found myself being summoned to the royal palace yet again. And despite frowning at the news, I nonetheless agreed to meet with the envoys.

“It wouldn’t have been strange at all for them to take advantage of our civil war and attack us. Apparently though, they had been in a long war with an island nation. Had it not been for that, I’m certain they would have made a move against us.”

And that country wanted to meet with me.

I wonder where they could have gotten information about me.

“The delegation itself have been considerably arrogant, I must say. Personally, I would like them to go back this instant, but as this concerns you and since your village now has autonomy, I do not believe I should send them back without at least notifying you.”

“They’re arrogant, huh…”

Until now, the envoys from different nations we had received had been nothing but friendly. So, a delegation that acted that like this was quite frankly hard to imagine at this point.

“Is it because of their pride as a large country…?”

“I’m afraid it isn’t as innocent as that. They are simply looking down on our kingdom.”

Even though I expected it to be a troublesome experience, I decided to meet with the envoys.

“I am Gaius, an envoy of the Loda Kingdom. Although, you can’t possibly be Luke, can you?”

The representative of the envoys was a stern-looking man in his late 30s. He also had an imperious mustache.

Certainly, he exuded an aura of self-importance. In all likelihood, he was probably a big shot back in Loda.

“Yes, I am indeed Luke…”

“…But you’re still just a child. King of Celtia, certainly, you are not making mockery out of us, are you?”

“I’m telling the truth though; I really am Luke.”

They’re the ones who wanted to meet, so how come he’s saying such awful things now?

“Are you saying you’re the one built those reyl way things?”

“Yes. Although I built them using my Gift.”

“I still find myself dubious, but very well. For now, how about you show us this city you built?”

“Huh? You’re coming to the village?”

Never mind requesting for it, he spoke like it was already a settled matter that they would visit the village. As such, I asked so without thinking at all.

When I did, he scoffed in displeasure and said:

“Naturally. What is it? We are pressed for time. I don’t want us to stand in ceremony any further.”

Just as they wanted, I brought the envoys from the Loda Kingdom to the village.

“T-there really was such a grand city in this wasteland…and all those tall buildings and all the people in the crowd…this place is probably more developed than our own capital…no, even if that’s case, our capital still has a thousand years of history under its belt. Comparing the two cities is like comparing apples and oranges.”

Despite the envoys being overcome with emotions after we climbed to the surface from the underground station, their pride for their nation still shone through as they said those words.

“We have plenty of things worth seeing. Let me show them to you one by one.”

Fufufu, might as well use this chance to show off how great our village is.

And so, with more eagerness than usual, I gave them a tour of the village.

“What clean streets…there’s no fallen trash anywhere…and those bathhouses and lavatories that could be used by anyone are everywhere…? Mhm? This good smell…I see, it’s coming from that cart, is it? …what? Why don’t I taste it? Listen here, you! Why should a noble such as I consume that base, commoner food? But very well, if you insist, I suppose I could humor you…it’s, it’s, it’s gooood!? What is this flavor!? Not even the cuisines in our royal court…Ah! Ahem…I suppose it’s not so bad for commoner food. *munch**munch* What? You want to show me your fields? I am not so free to visit a place like that, I’ll have you know. Huh? We’re already here? Wait a moment! What are those crops!? I’ve never seen a vegetable be that big! Mhm? This time you want to take me to your livestock farm? Are you making fun of me? Why should I go to such a filthy…wait, we’re at the place in an instant again!? And what are those!? Something that large can’t be livestock! They’re almost like monsters! And yet, for all their size, they don’t smell at all…What, you’re taking me next to your training grounds? In an instant again!? What is with all those brawny men!? And over there, those soldiers are sparring with tremendous speeds! What, they’re not soldiers but ordinary citizens!? There’s more to show us!? Wait, potions!? And you’re selling them like they’re ordinary wares!?”

“…just what is this frightening city…”

“Ah, just to be clear, this is not a city but a village.”
