"If that's your request, I'll comply. After all, you've saved my life," said Lu Yunxiao earnestly.

"Do you not wish to go to Misty Cloud Sect?" The woman furrowed her brows slightly and asked softly, sensing the deeper meaning behind Lu Yunxiao's words.

Lu Yunxiao hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded.

His biggest reason for not going to Misty Cloud Sect was simple: a gentleman does not stand under a tottering wall. Misty Cloud Sect had connections with Hall of Souls, and he didn't want to deal with anyone associated with Hall of Souls right now.

With one slip-up, his identity could be exposed. He was too weak at the moment and had no means of self-preservation against Hall of Souls, let alone considering the existence of the Hun Clan behind them.

Moreover, the techniques and martial arts in Misty Cloud Sect were decent at best, unlikely to match what he was currently practicing.

He did want to get closer to Yun Yun, and maybe even become her disciple by joining the Misty Cloud Sect. However, his life was more important, so at this stage, he had to keep his distance from Misty Cloud Sect.

There would be plenty of opportunities in the future to meet Yun Yun again.

But on the flip side, if Yun Yun insisted on him joining Misty Cloud Sect, he wouldn't refuse. After all, Yun Yun had just saved him, and gratitude needed to be repaid.

However, judging from Yun Yun's character, she probably wasn't someone who sought repayment for her favors. If she did, then maybe he had misjudged her.

"Why you don't want to go to Misty Cloud Sect? Isn't it good?" Yun Yun asked with some confusion. Misty Cloud Sect was the top sect in the Jia Ma Empire, and countless people dreamed of joining it. It was puzzling that the person in front of her refused.

"I've decided to participate in this year's enrollment at Jia Nan Academy," Lu Yunxiao said softly.

According to the usual timeline, the enrollment for Jia Nan Academy this year should be approaching. He had the intention of joining Jia Nan Academy.

After all, the Fallen Heart Flame was in Jia Nan Academy. Having the identity of a Jia Nan Academy student would make it much easier to obtain the Fallen Heart Flame in the future.

"Jia Nan Academy?" Yun Yun murmured, falling into a brief silence.

Jia Nan Academy was the most famous institution on the continent, with strong capabilities in terms of faculty and facilities. It naturally surpassed Misty Cloud Sect in various aspects. If the person in front of her refused her offer because he wanted to join Jia Nan Academy, it made sense.

"Very well. Since you've made up your mind, let's drop this matter. With your talent, even at Jia Nan Academy, you'll surely shine. I wish you all the best for your future," Yun Yun said with a smile.

Since Lu Yunxiao was unwilling, she didn't intend to force him. Joining Misty Cloud Sect should be voluntary; otherwise, even if he joined reluctantly, without emotional attachment to the sect, it wouldn't make a difference.

"Thank you for your understanding, sister!" Lu Yunxiao hurriedly expressed his gratitude.

"No need. Work hard. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave." Yun Yun waved her hand gently and spoke softly.

She had intended to return to Misty Cloud Sect. It was just a coincidence that she encountered Lu Yunxiao's predicament and helped him. Now that the situation was resolved and Lu Yunxiao showed no interest in joining Misty Cloud Sect, staying longer had no significance.

"Sister, please wait. May I know your esteemed name? You've saved my life, and your kindness is higher than the sky. I only wish to know your name so I can remember it," Lu Yunxiao hurriedly asked as he saw Yun Yun about to leave.

Although he knew Yun Yun's identity, there were things he still needed to ask. Whether it was her real name or an alias, knowing her name would make it easier to interact in the future.

"Call me Yun Zhi," Yun Yun hesitated for a moment, her crimson lips gently opening to say, then unfurling a pair of azure wings behind her. She soared directly into the sky and swiftly disappeared into the horizon.

"Yun Zhi? That's your style. You've kept this pseudonym for a century."

Watching the distant sky, Lu Yunxiao smiled faintly, a hint of warmth in his eyes.

Indeed, Yun Yun was still the person he remembered, sensible, gentle, and generous.

"You, my dear, are already spoken for." Lu Yunxiao murmured softly, then turned slightly. He was off to find the monster cores. With so many corpses of the Sand Blight Spiders, monster cores would definitely not be in short supply. That meant a significant amount of money, and money was something he currently lacked!

---

Rock Desert City, Treasure Pavilion!

Lu Yunxiao sold almost all the monster cores he obtained during this adventure, leaving only a second-rank Sand Blight Spider's demon core as a memento. It held some sentimental value since it was because of this second-rank Sand Blight Spider that he met Yun Yun.

"The count is done, Master Lu. The total value of the demon cores you provided this time amounts to two hundred and ninety-nine thousand seven hundred and seventy gold coins. Let's round it off to an even three hundred thousand gold coins. Please take this card," said the middle-aged female owner of the Treasure Pavilion, handing a golden card to Lu Yunxiao.

"Thank you!" Lu Yunxiao took the card, smiling as he expressed his gratitude.

This time, he had harvested over two hundred first-rank demon cores, with a significant portion coming from the Sand Blight Spiders.

Despite the low drop rate of demon cores, the deaths of over a thousand Sand Blight Spiders resulted in more than one hundred demon cores. Coupled with his two months of hard work earlier, he had accumulated quite a substantial quantity.

"With this sudden wealth, I've finally amassed some assets."

Lu Yunxiao chuckled. With over two hundred thousand gold coins in his possession, he had achieved some financial freedom. At least for now, he didn't have to worry about money.

"I'm leaving, boss!" Lu Yunxiao waved and walked out of the pavilion.

"Take care, Master Lu. Please visit us often when you're free," the middle-aged female owner said politely. Lu Yunxiao's two visits had brought significant business to the Treasure Pavilion.

"Sure!" Lu Yunxiao casually replied, purchasing some ingredients before heading slowly toward the Geographical Maps.

As he walked, the bustling street caught his attention, with occasional cheers from pedestrians. Lu Yunxiao immediately understood.

"It seems Jia Nan Academy's enrollment team has arrived. Well then, I'll go back, tidy up, and visit them tomorrow."

With that thought in mind, Lu Yunxiao hastened his steps, heading back to the Geographical Maps.

When he reached the shop's entrance, he noticed several burly men standing straight outside, exuding an aura of 'don't come near.'

"Young Master Lu!" Several burly men bowed.

"Is your young miss here again?" Lu Yunxiao raised an eyebrow, speaking lightly.

"Yes, Young Master Lu. The young miss is inside," one of the men replied softly.

"Oh!" Lu Yunxiao nodded lightly before stepping into the shop.

Just as he entered, he spotted a graceful figure. She raised her head, eyes holding a hint of joy.

"Yunxiao, you're back!"
