After the problem of the marines was resolved every one of them entered the restaurant to have a meal which was served. The restaurant kept to its fame as everything was delicious. For Usopp, it was a really great experience as in his former life he rarely had ever gotten an opportunity to eat such cuisines.
Nami on the other hand felt her heart pricking every time one of them gave an order. The reason for that was simple, the food here was expensive but she too wanted to try these foods so she decided to take the shots and suffer a little.
When the food was served Nami was not a bit disappointed with the taste, what was even better was that her bill was forgiven thanks to her flirting with Sanji. Though the cost was left for Sanji to bear, for him it was something worth paying for to get an opportunity to spend time with such a beautiful lady.
“A simp…” Usopp said to himself which attracted Sanji’s attention.
“What’s a simp? We don’t serve it here sorry.” He replied not understanding that he had just been insulted by Usopp.
“You don’t? That’s a pity. I thought you did,” Usopp said to himself trying to hold a chuckle under his breath.
After they all had finished eating it was time to do what they had come here for. Luffy and Usopp decided to stay while the rest of them decided to go back to the ship, it was better than overcrowding this restaurant.
Luffy approached Sanji who was serving a beautiful lady some wine with hearts in his eyes but was interrupted by a poke by Luffy.
Turning around to see the familiar face of Luffy, Sanji asked him in an annoyed manner “What is it?”
“Your boss, I want to talk with him,” Luffy said.
“Huh? Why do you want to talk with that geezer?” Sanji replied
“I’m looking for a cook to come with me and join my pirate crew,” Luffy said with a cheerful smile on his face.
“Nice dreams you have but I don’t think any one of them would agree to join your crew” Sanji replied truthfully.
“You’re not the owner, why should I believe you?“ Luffy asked while puffing up his face.
“Alright, I’ll call him and then you’ll see for yourself,” Sanji said not wanting to deal with him any longer. With that, he went inside to look for Jeff and after a few minutes Jeff in his chef attire exited the kitchen and looked at Luffy from top to down.
“Sanji said that a lad is looking for me, that’s you?” Jeff asked as he observed Luffy and Usopp who were standing by his side.
“Yes, it’s me! I’m looking for a cook to join my pirate crew,” Luffy said in the same manner as before.
“Hmmm, come with me,” Jeff after looking at Luffy for a few seconds said as he turned around and started walking towards the kitchen area. Luffy without any question followed him along with Sanji and Usopp.
Opening the door to the kitchen area around twenty-thirty cooks who were working diligently to meet the customer’s demands entered their eyes.
“These are all the cooks we have here, you’re free to ask anyone of them.” Jeff said as he shouted, “Hey you bastards! This man here wants to tell you something.” Jeff shouted to attract their attention which made them all stop their work.
Seeing that all their attention was on him Luffy said out loud, “I’m gonna be the next Pirate King and I’m setting sail to the grand line, who wants to join my crew to become our chef,”
All the cooks looked at Luffy for a couple of seconds before retracting their gazes and going back to their work as they murmured under their breaths.
“I thought it was something serious but it was just a delusional brat asking us to join him? Like hell we would,”
“Indeed, why would we leave this place and go struggle at the sea…”
“The last thing I want is to be under the command of someone younger than me..”
Seeing the reaction and seeing all their reactions Luffy couldn’t help but become angry as he shouted in anger “Hey who are you calling delusional?!”
“Are you dumb, of course, it’s you. No one who’s not delusional would say that they want to become the pirate king in this era.” A middle-aged cook said in ridicule.
“I’m not! I will become the Pirate King.” Luffy said to which the man replied while sneering “That’s what they all say before meeting their en-…”
“That’s enough Leward.” Jeff said and stopped him from saying any further as he turned to Luffy and said “Young man, as you can see, no one here wants to join your crew and even if anyone of them had agreed, I would have not allowed them to go…but we still have a cook that you can take with you.” Jeff finished as he turned towards Sanji.
“Hey geezer, are you implying that I’m not as valuable as the other chefs? After what all I’ve done for this place you’re saying this?” Sanji roared.
“What all you've done except for causing us trouble? Do you know how many orders were on the house today because of how you lost your mind in front of a beautiful woman? If you stay like this I fear that one day you’ll end up selling my restaurant to some bitch behind my back and that too for free!” Jeff scolded Sanji in return as he continued. “How about it young lad, you want to take him?”
“Him? Nah, he looks too dumb…” Luffy says while poking his nose with his finger.
“HAVE YOU EVER SEEN YOURSELF!” Sanji roared once again trying hard to contain his as he continued “I’m not going anywhere you geezer, I’ll stay as cook here until you die.”
“I don’t plan on dying and I definitely don’t plan to see your face for all eternity,” Jeff said making a nerve pop out on Sanji’s head.
“Owner Jeff! A pirate ship is coming! It’s a huge galleon!” One of the chefs who went out to take a puff rushed inwards while shouting attracting all of their attention.
