As the sun rose above the horizon the rays of the sun slowly embraced the whole of Whiskey Peak. Usopp who had been sleeping soundly until now was rudely wakened up from his sleep thanks to the merciless rays of the sun.
What welcomed him when he woke up was the sudden headache as the hungover had already set in. He slowly rose up and, looking behind him, saw Robin’s hat that had been cushioning his head the whole night.
Along with the sight of the wrinkled hat entering his eyes the memories of the conversation he had with Robin also came back to him and he couldn’t help but shake his head. He might have ended up dead if he had called her by her real name so he could only sigh in relief that nothing of that sort happened.
In hindsight, though what he ended up doing last night was reckless it did help in sowing the seeds for their companionship in the future the proof of it was the hat that she left for him.
Picking up the hat with a smile on his face Usopp walked down the building and the first thing he did was to quench his thirst before going to the bar to check up on everyone.
They all were still dozing off so Usopp chose to be the devil this time and woke them all up from their sleep. Quite obviously, he was met with a series of abuses from the folks but he finally succeeded in waking them all up.
After waking up the first thing Nami did after rubbing her eyes while yawning was to check on her log pose, she discovered that the log pose had been set and they were ready for their next journey.
Usopp looked around the bar but found no traces of Igaram, Mr 9 and Miss Monday which confused him as the trio were drinking alongside them last night. A few moments later his doubts were answered as Igaram who was currently disguised with the intention of looking like Vivi entered the scene.
“Igaram, you’re going?” Vivi asked looking at him.
“The situation calls for urgency Princess so therefore I must hurry.” Igaram said as he turned towards Luffy and the rest and said while bowings, “I beg you guys to take good care of Princess and keep her safe till you reach Alabasta,”
“Leave it to us!” Luffy said as he slapped his right palm on his left biceps and shoved his left fist up to show his determination and to assure Igaram.
Igaram soon left along with Mr 9 and Miss Monday under the worried and thankful gaze of Vivi. This time around no accident took place as their ship slowly disappeared as it sailed towards the horizon.
After a while Luffy shouted, “Let’s prepare to set sail!” and with those words, everyone got to work to prepare for their next journey. Vivi gazed at the calm horizon one more time as her eyes became more and more determined before she turned around to help the straw hats with the arrangements.
After securing enough supplies for their voyage they finally set sail unbeknownst to what the next island held for them. Of course, there was one person in the crew that knew exactly what the next island held for them.
Usopp was currently practising his observation haki. Last night when he was waiting for Robin he suddenly thought of an idea that just like how haki could be used to observe and anticipate a person’s movements and attack won’t it be possible to use the same haki to hide it?
It was just this idea that led him to start pondering over his matter more and more because if he’s able to hide his presence from other haki users then he could gain a significant advantage in dealing with them. Even if that person has armament haki they won’t be able to activate it before his attack strikes as they won’t be able to perceive it.
After meditating over this matter for the next 2 hours he was still unclear about the matter and decided to take a break to relax his mind. He soon went to the ship’s galley to ask Sanji who was currently preparing their lunch for snacks.
“I’ve placed it in the freezer, you were training earlier so I didn’t disturb you,” Sanji said as focused on preparing their lunch.
“Alright, thanks,” Usopp said as he opened the freezer to take out a cold smoothie and moved towards the deck to experience some fresh air. On the way he met with Luffy who was since the point the journey began observing and playing with Karoo.
“Quack…” Usopp could see a pleading gaze from Karoo as if wanting him to save it from its misery which made him chuckle as he continued to move forward under the despondent gaze of Karoo.
While Usopp was enjoying his cold smoothie along with the scenic view of the sea he saw a News coo that was flying near their ship. Nami who was also observing it from the wheel waved her hand up to signal the coo and the bird changed its direction as it dived towards the ship and finally with a flap to decrease its momentum landed on the railing of the ship.
Nami walked towards it and exchanged the newspaper for a couple of berries and analysed the latest ongoings in the Grand Line.
While Nami was giving a cursory glance at the headlines one title attracted her attention which was, “Millions of soldiers deserted the Royal Guards to join the Rebels in Alabasta,” Nami gave a thorough read to this topic and soon realized how grave the situation in the kingdom of Alabasta was currently.
While Nami was still engrossed in the topic a few wanted posters slid down the newspapers and among those posters one particular poster grasped her attention as she quickly knelt on the grown and picked up the poster to see it.
Observing this frantic movement from Nami Usopp soon made his way towards her only to see a fearful and anxious expression on her face as her eyes were stuck on the piece of paper she was holding on her hands.
Usopp zoomed in on the sheet of paper only to realize that it was a wanted poster. ‘Yea, it’s about time that, I thought this would have happened much earlier, thankfully it didn’t,” Usopp thought to himself as he gazed into the poster and raised his eyebrows the moment, he saw it.
In the poster, the picture used was of Luffy and Usopp standing side by side while facing the front. Upon thinking back, Usopp realized that it must have been taken when the two of them were standing atop the execution stand in Logue town.
“Guess we’re famous now,” Usopp said jokingly.
