He woke up pinned under something heavy and hot. His lips were filled with something wet and fleshy too, though it tasted great. Then his eyes slowly opened, and he saw the familiar right of Emerald.

His jaw ached. His legs were numb. His entire body was pulsing with pain.

But he was alive.

"Emerald?" he said, his voice coming out weak, and partly muffle due to Emerald’s lips.

She broke the kiss, leaving a trail of her saliva, and stared into his eyes. "Master,” she said, her voice full of worry.

"Am I dreaming?"

"Master." She held his face, her eyes holding the saddest of smiles. "You're alive." She pulled her head to his chest.

"I am?" His voice was muffled. He used what little strength he could in order to pull back from her, and then looked around. They were in a forest, with a small stream nearby. Some of the trees nearby had been destroyed.

"Master, you’ve been unconscious for three weeks."

"Three weeks?" He stared up at her in surprise. How had he been unconscious for so long? "What happened?"

"Grandma Ba heard that someone was hurt and she sent the town guards. They found found and brought you back to the inn. When I saw you, master, I..."

He recalled the last time he was about to be hurt. "What did you do?"

"..." She remained silent, her eyes glancing aside, avoiding his gaze.

"Emerald."

"I destroyed the inn, master..." Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"You did what?" He tried to sit up, but he didn’t have the strength. "Emerald! You! You can't do that! Grandma Ba was so nice to us."

"I gave her some gold coins and a high grade pill to auction to pay for it,” she replied, with a surprising amount of common sense. “I'm sorry, master. I was just so angry. I left right after and I carried you all the way here. We're many miles away and it's just us two here, so I can’t hurt anyone..."

He sighed and then stared up into her eyes. They were filled with shame, but he forced a smile. “It’s okay, it’s okay.”

Thinking about all that happened caused him to sigh again. "I'm sorry for being a pathetic master, Emerald..." Ken lay his head back, closing his eyes. In comparison to Emerald, he was nothing but trash.

"Master is not pathetic." She kissed him again. “Master is the most amazing.”

“Thanks, Emerald..”

She smiled, but then quickly formed a frown. "Master, your legs..."

"Let me guess. I can't walk again?" He was already resigned to that fact, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

Emerald closed her eyes and nodded. She hugged him tight into her bosom once again, letting him rest.

"Goddess, can you hear me?" Ken eventually asked.

[[Don't think about it today. This queen will teach you tomorrow.]]

"You said you'd help me once I woke up."

[[You have only just woken up. Rest and we will speak tomorrow.]]

He sighed and looked up to Emerald again. She was a little thinner than before, but still extremely beautiful.

"Emerald. I'm going to get my revenge one day. Will you help me?”

"I am master's. I will help master, even if I die for it." Her eyes were determined and serious.

"Don't die for me." He brushed her cheek, but smiled all the same.

Emerald kept him close to her, embracing him tight. He closed his eyes and feel asleep in her embrace.

He woke up to feeling her sleeping against him. She was under him, letting him use her as a mattress.

"Emerald..." he whispered, reaching up to stroke her cheek tenderly.

[[You're finally awake. Good.]]

"I’m a crippled waste. How will I get my revenge now?"

[[It's simple. You must become a famous alchemist with Emerald as your guard.]]

“I don't want to be an Alchemist! I want to be a cultivator! I want to cripple them!"

[[You will do both! You are in no position to get your revenge by force so you must use your knowledge! You're are a Leaf! You will conquer this region under this queen's guidance!]]

"I listened to you last time and it ended up with me almost dying and being robbed."

[[This queen underestimated the savageness of your people. From now on we will meet their savageness with yours.]]

Ken sighed. "So what do I do now?" He had no one else to turn to, so he had to resign himself to her.

[[You will need to spread your alchemy and pills and find a way to unleash your bloodline. This queen will assist you with both matters. For now, you need to find another town, far away.]]

"Alright, fine.” He looked down to the sleeping Emerald and saw it was night. “In the morning.”

He returned to sleep with Emerald, before they finally awoke in the morning.

“Emerald, we need to find a town which is further away than the last one."

Emerald bowed her head and then picked him up. She carried him, causing him great embarrassment, but what could he do? They travelled for a long while until they came across a small caravan which was making its way through the land.

"Hey! You two! What are you doing out here?" It was one of the guards of the caravan.

"We were trying to travel to the next town but we were attacked by bandits. I'm injured and my bodyguard is helping me to the next town. Where are you headed to?"

"We're headed to Little River."

"Could we join you? I can pay ten silver coins when we get there."

"Sure. How strong is your guard to have dealt with bandits?"

"Higher Martial Apprentice,” Ken said.

They looked between one another. "Why don't you hand us over the woman and we'll give you a quick death?"

They were so glad they found such an easy mark. No one would mind if they killed him and went about their business playing with the woman. She was such a beauty, and there was no way she could fight against so many Higher Martial Apprentices.

"Damn it." Ken grit his teeth, his jaw still aching. Somehow it had healed, but it still hurt him whenever he made powerful movement.

"Master, please give me a moment." Emerald gently placed him down, making sure he was comfortable, and then turned to face the caravan.

There were two merchants, a man and a woman, and six guards. Some of the guards were Middle Martial Apprentice, but there were two at Higher Martial Apprentice, and another at Peak Martial Apprentice.

"Hey, hurry up and kill him! We don't have all day…" It was the woman, who frowned and looked away.

"Yeah! We aren't paying you to waste our time! She's even more beautiful than the one we just picked up." The male merchant licked his lips, leering at the busty Emerald.

[How savage…]

Ken wondered why there was a lack of decent people in the world. How could he come across so many beasts at a time?

"Come along, girly.” One of the guards licked his lips. “Why don't we have some fun together? Let me put that guy out of his misery."

"No one will hurt my master!" Emerald growled as her hands turned into branches against, causing the man to gasp in shock and watch in horror. She wrapped her branches around his neck and then snapped it, like snapping a twig. She tossed him aside, several metres away with ease.

The merchant woman screamed and the man cried out in shock. Neither of them were expected her to be so powerful, or someone who could do that.

"She just killed a Higher Martial Apprentice just like that!”

"There's no way she's a Higher Martial Apprentice! She must be a Lower Martial Warrior at least!”

Ken didn't know that Emerald was so strong, and could sense she was much stronger than he expected. When did she become so powerful?

"W-wait! There's a misunderstanding!" The second guard said as she wrapped her branches around him and then started to crush him, his bones becoming like broken glass, his blood seeping out of him like red rain dripping onto the forest floor.

"Run away! Run away!"

Emerald didn't allow any of them to flee from her as she dashed forward with frightening speed, and caught all the guards in her branches. She slammed them into the ground, like they were toys.

"No one will hurt my master! No one!" She was still enraged from what had happened to her master in the town earlier, and these foolish merchants were helping her get rid of her frustrations.

"Please don't kill us!" The woman was on her knees, begging them.

"Spare me and my wife! You can take everything!" The male merchant was beside her, his body shaking.

The merchants continued to whimper as the guards were beaten and tossed away.

"Master should I stop?” Emerald looked back at him as he sat their, keeping up by his elbows. “I don't want master to hate me..."

He smiled at her. “I wouldn’t hate you, Emerald.” Then he looked to the pathetic merchants. “You weren’t going to help me, and you even goaded the guards to kill me and take my woman… I’ll let my dear Emerald decide."

Emerald smiled, turning back to face them. The branches began to encircle the pair of merchants.

"No! Please! We'll give you everything we have! Please don't kill us!"

"If you had tried to help me earlier, I would have let you go." Ken was not an evil man, but he couldn’t just allow them to go after what they did.

Emerald picked them both up and slammed them against one another repeatedly. They screamed. They grunted. They gasped. They died. She tossed their lifeless bodies away.

"Did I do good, master?" Emerald asked, returning to his side.

"You did amazing, Emerald." He smiled warmly towards her, seeing her hands turn back to flesh.

She picked him up and he kissed her. If it wasn't for his broken legs, he wouldn't have allowed her to suffer this shame. It was embarrassing, and he felt bad for Emerald to carry around his dead weight.

When they checked the wagon, they saw it was mostly used as a living area for the merchants. They also foung that there was a woman tied up in the back.

"Are you okay?" Ken asked, Emerald placing him down.

"Master, that's..." Emerald began to shake as her fingers turned into branches. She lifted the body up to reveal the woman.

She was no longer as enticing as she once was, her seductive gaze now a terrified look.

His blood began to boil as he saw who it was, and his eyes darkened as she stared at her whimpering form.

Yue Glow.
