The Appraiser left and brought back the Commerce Head. He was a fat man with a bald head, but a thick beard. He sat down and placed down some snacks, eating a few.

"I heard you have brought some high grade earth pills to sell," he said, getting right to business.

"That's right."

"There's something special about them?" His eyes were curious as he stared at the three of them, glancing between the two women and then the crippled man.

"Yes."

"What is so special about them?"

"They are 60% more effective for women."

"Even though they're already high grade white pearl pills?"

"Yes."

"How much do you want for them."

Ken motioned a hand to Yue, letting her do what she was brought to do.

"Fifteen gold for each high grade pill."

"Not twelve?" Fifteen gold was still a great price, considering he could buy each of them for roughly twenty gold and still make a profit.

"I will sell them to you with the caveat that we will only sell these specific pills to the commerce pavilion for the next three months."

"Make it six months," the Commerce Head replied.

"I may leave the town after three months, which is why I made the offer."

"Then the low grade earth pills and the middle grade earth pills, we will buy for them typical rate."

"20% higher for those pills, and for the same duration." Ken still held the upper hand in the negotiation, and this was already a huge favour to the Commerce Head, who would no doubt agree with the sentiment.

"Fine, but you have to introduce me to the Alchemist." Even if it was a good deal, he wanted to know who he needed to please.

"Then please write up the contract. I will introduce you within the month." Ken continued to sip his tea.

The Commerce Head called for some paper and wrote the contract, signing it and waiting for Ken to sign it. Ken gave it a quick once over, and let Yue double check for him, before signing it himself.

"Then allow me to introduce you to my partner, Emerald, the Alchemist who made these pills."

The man seemed surprised. Emerald had remained silent and still, but she bowed her head and he returned the bow.

"What is your relation to one another?"

"She is my woman."

"You're a lucky man!" The Commerce Head grinned wide and then chuckled.

"Yes, I am. I have also come to discuss the business of arrays since I'm an Arrayist."

"You are?" The Commerce Head raised his brows in surprise. He hadn’t expected that.

"I am still learning my craft, but I can make low grade earth arrays with ease at least. I will be making some soon so would like to ask you which arrays are most popular."

"Defensive arrays, usually. Talismans or scrolls are the preferred medium." The information was given in good faith, and if this young man was really an Arrayist, he wanted to form a bond with him.

"Then I will supply the commerce pavilion with what arrays I make as well."

"Pardon the question, but, why is it that you have come here when the auction would make you more money?" Even though he was a business man, he also liked to know what he could do to earn more trust and faith from those who came to do business with his commerce pavilion.

"The auction pavilion showed me a great unkindness when I dealt with them. Even if I make much less money from the commerce guild, at least you've put in some effort for this junior despite his appearance."

"The gold of a beggar and a king weighs the same."

"Then please prepare the gold pieces."

"Since there is so much gold, would you take big gold coins as well?"

"They are acceptable. If you have any spirit shards, they will be fine as well."

The commerce head sent for the coins, as well as a ring. "Please take this as a token of good faith." It was a middle grade earth ring, one which shot out a beam of lightning.

"I will gladly accept your gift," Ken said, accepting the ring.

“Please call me Rojja Silverhand,” the Commerce Head said, reaching out a hand.

“Ken,” he replied back, keeping his second name to himself.

“If you have any business with our commerce pavilion, please don’t hesitate to call for me,” Rojja said.

“I’ll thank you in advance.” The trio then left the pavilion.

"You gifted them an item right away, Commerce Head?" The Appraiser asked.

"It's the least we could do. Even if people have issues with the auction pavilion, they would still do business with them over us. I trust that he'll supply us many pills over these next three months and a few arrays to make up for it. If he doesn't, then at least we have his favour."

Since they were done with the commerce pavilion, they went to the nearby slave market to find some slaves, with Yue still wheeling Ken.

"Low Martial Warrior, uses a sword, available for only ten gold coins!"

"Middle Martial Warrior, uses a spear, twenty gold coins!"

"High Martial Warrior, only fists, forty gold coins!"

"Peak Martial Warrior, uses a sword, eighty gold coins!"

The prices were decent, and with the pills he had at hand, he could afford a large number of them. However, he wanted to check how much a Martial Expert would cost.

Yue took him to a dealer, a sleazy looking man with a hat and a long braid which fell down his back. He looked over their way, noticing that Ken was a cripple, and gathered as to why he would need a slave.

"This one is Five Fingers, how can I assist you?" He bowed slightly towards the cripple, who he noted was most likely the leader.

"I would like to enquire if you have any Martial Experts."

"We don't usually carry around Martial Experts…” he looked down at the cripple, then his eyes glanced between the other two, “but I believe we may have one."

"How much are they?"

"Well, the problem is that..." The slaver smiled politely, as polite as he could, “they're not human."

"..."

"Would you still like to see?" The man continued to smile politely.

"Show me."

Ken was surprised to hear that they dealt with non humans too. He took the cripple into the large tent behind, where Ken saw that he had a wolf woman in chains. She was fairly young too, perhaps only slightly older than himself, but already a Martial Expert.

She was very thin, and the look in her grey eyes was dead. She had light grey hair, short and messy, and most importantly, she had one arm.

"Since she's not human, her price is a little lower, and due to her missing arm, we've reduce it again.” The slaver continued to smile politely, but Ken could tell that the slaver was just smelling the money. “Most believe her to be a filthy beast that can't obey, but if you treat her like she's nearly human, she should be more than reasonable."

"How much?"

"Fifty gold coins, and she’s a Low Martial Expert.”

[[That one arm is not a problem, but haggle anyway.]]

"Since she has only one arm, let's make it forty gold coins. I also wish to buy a slave who is pure, a virgin. Do you have any?"

"Virgins we usually sell for ten gold coins."

"Then fifty gold coins for the pair of them. I'll take the wolf girl off your hands so people can walk around here more freely." Ken smiled as politely as the slaver.

"It's as you say." He bowed his head. "I will brand them and get their contracts."

"I also need you to make a contract between myself and this one,” Ken said, pointing to Yue behind him. “She has become my slave, but I need a contract to make it official."

"That process is easy but a little time-consuming. If you are willing to spend an additional gold coin, it can be done within the hour."

"Make it so." Ken nodded his head. "Since you have been so reasonable, please take this." Ken handed over ten low grade earth pills and one middle grade earth pill.

The slaver bowed, suddenly more amiable as he accepted the pills. "Is the young sir an Alchemist?"

“I may know a few people,” Ken replied back, smiling. He needed rumours to spread, and who better than the slaver?

"If it's like that, could this slaver ask for some assistance? I would be willing to trade the wolf girl for a specific high grade earth pill."

"Which pill?"

"The high grade earth water clot pill."

"Very well, but I would still like to pay for the wolf girl. Once the pill has been refined, you may buy it for the price we paid for the wolf girl." He wanted to buy the wolf girl now so he could have an additional Martial Expert around.

The slaver bowed once again, more genuinely. "That is more than reasonable, thank you."

Even though it was quite a steep price to pay for the pill, the slaver must have had an issue which required that specific pill, which rarely came around for auction or for sale. Ken gained a little more respect for alchemy in that moment.

[Some people might need specific pills due to their circumstance. I should keep that in mind from now on.]

Ken nodded and allowed him to process everything. The slaver returned with both the wolf girl slave and the virgin slave, which was a woman around Ken's age. She was more than likely from a village considering how she stood and the sadness in her face and eyes.
