The next day, they all had a lot to do. Yue and Emerald went to go hire some Martial Experts in order to protect them. They found six Martial Experts, three Lower Martial Experts, two Middle Martial Experts, and one Higher Martial Expert.

"It's good to see such fine escorts here,” Ken said, nodding towards Lan Redbone too. “With the support of such fine Martial Experts, I can be rest assured that my slaves will be taken care of."

The escorts looked at the crippled, surprised to see that he would be willing to spend so much money on protecting some slaves.

[What a weird cripple...]

[Spending so much gold when he could buy new slaves instead...]

They weren’t going to complain though, since they were being paid. Lan had already met Ken before, so he knew what kind of person Ken was.

"I've hired you for a month, but I don't believe I'll need you for that long. However, if you are willing to stay for the entire month, I will refine you each a high grade earth pill that will assist in your cultivation, most likely a white pearl pill."

A white pearl pill was an amazing pill for each of them, something which could assist them greatly in their cultivation. They were all Martial Experts, so a high grade earth pill was extremely useful to each of them. Being able to find an Alchemist willing to create them a white pearl pill was something which was rare.

"Yes young master!"

"We'll follow you to hell and back!"

The escorts hadn't expected that this quest was going to give them so much. Had they known, they would have been more polite to Yue when she first went to hire them.

"However, if anything happens to either of them, I will be disappointed. If any of you to do something to either of them, I'll be finding a few Higher Martial Experts, or even Martial Masters, to politely speak with you." Ken smiled. "It's an easy enough matter, though."

Once Ken was done warning the Martial Experts, who understood not to ruin this gig, he left to the commerce pavilion, with Emerald and Chandi at his side since he had Martial Experts looking after Yue and Nana.

He hoped the rewards and the threat were enough to keep the escorts placated. If anything did happen to his slaves, then how would he explain the bloodbath to the Town Lord?

The commerce pavilion seemed to be quite busy today, but a worker quickly came to assist Ken. The other customers gave way, though there were a few from the major families who complained.

"I was here first!”

“Why does no one attend to me?”

“I am a servant from the Redwind family!"

The woman turned to the others and smiled politely, in the way which made her eyes dark with a glare. "This is an honoured guest of our commerce pavilion."

It was then that someone else appeared from behind Ken, extending open a fan in a cliched way.

"Oh? Will someone come to attend to me then?" It was a young noble, a Young Master of one of the families.

"Welcome, Young Master Blackdeer. "I will send someone to personally assist you." The servant bowed her head.

"There's no need for that. Why don't you personally assist me instead? I'm sure the young cripple is used to waiting." The Young Master smiled politely. “I’m sure he won’t mind at all.”

"This..." The woman frowned, in an awkward spot. She couldn’t afford to offend either of these men, but the Young Master was someone from the same town.

It was obvious that the Young Master was trying to shame Ken, though they hadn't met before so Ken wasn’t sure why he would start a random issue. Ken wondered how he'd navigate through this, since he was in the commerce pavilion.

"Since it's like that, why don't you assist him? It seems the Young Master is in a rush. I'll just wait for Commerce Head Rojja to personally assist me."

"You want the Commerce Head to personally assist you? Dream on, little cripple boy. Who do you think you are?" The Young Master smirked, and the nearby people snickered. The Young Master had heard a little about Ken, but to think someone like him would be so brazen against someone of this Young Master's pedigree.

"Ah, I'll send someone to assist the Young Master right away." The woman said, thinking Ken was joking to diffuse the tension.

"What? Didn't you hear what the cripple said? He said he was fine waiting, so come to my side." The Young Master’s eyes began to fill with a glare.

"Why do you not follow such commands?" Commerce Head Rojja said, walking onto the scene. "Since Arrayist Ken has already given his permission, you may assist the Young Master personally."

"Commerce Head Rojja, I didn't expect that you would have an outsider come in and walk around as though he owned the place." The Young Master glanced to Ken.

"Young Master, you are no outsider. It's only reasonable that you are to make a request to have someone to personally assist you."

It was obvious that Blackdeer had been talking about Ken, but Commerce Head Rojja deflected it back around to talk about him instead.

"Arrayist Ken, please allow me to personally assist you." Rojja hoped that this would placate Ken.

"What?" Young Master Blackdeer stared at Rojja and Ken, wondering how the Commerce Head could offer his personal assistance to the crippled boy.

"Then, let's go." Ken casually accepted the Commerce Head's help, having Emerald push him forward, and Chandi following right behind.

"You would really allow a beastkin to come and dirty your place, Commerce Head?" The Young Master spat out viciously.

The Commerce Head stopped. He hadn’t wanted to start an issue with the Blackdeer family, but the Young Master had tested his patience long enough.

"Since this place is so dirty, the Young Master of the Blackdeer family may leave. You know where the exit is, I'm sure you have the capability to see yourself out." The Commerce Head didn't do this for Ken this time, but because the Young Master decided to throw stones at his commerce pavilion.

The Young Master quickly realised his folly. "I didn't quite mean that, I just meant that the wolf girl will dirty your pavilion if you allow her to roam around."

"Then you are free to leave." Rojja’s voice was dark and deep.

"Since the Commerce Head doesn't want my good intentions, I'll keep them to myself."

"Indeed. You and your good intentions may leave my commerce pavilion. We deal with gold and treasures, not good intentions and empty words. Escort the Young Master out." Rojja had passed the point of no return.

A man stepped out at Rojja’s words, a Middle Martial Expert. The Young Master had a Low Martial Expert at his side, who stepped forward.

The Young Master stepped back quickly to distance himself. "Very well. I will leave until the smell of beasts has left your fine pavilion." He then turned and left, obviously annoyed about the situation. However, he knew better than to fight within the commerce pavilion.

[That damn cripple! Just you wait and see, you little brat! You should have known your place!]
