Ken looked ahead to the Young Master of the Blackdeer family who he had some business with previously when he was at the commerce pavilion.

The Young Master had quite the grin on his face, something which Ken wanted to slap off the man’s face, but instead, he smiled cordially.

"Oh? What does the Young Master of the Blackdeer family need of this cripple?” Ken asked, still smiling cordially.

[Seriously? I’ve only just stepped out of the pavilion…]

Ken was only a minute away from the pavilion, far enough away that they were out of the immediate influence of the commerce pavilion.

"Don’t try to flatter yourself with your empty words,” the Young Master said, smirking down at him. “You should thank your lucky stars that we’ve met. I am here to give you an offer that you can’t refuse.”

“An offer I can’t refuse? Pray tell, what is this offer that I can’t refuse?” Ken asked.

Chandi eyed up the other guards near the Young Master, judging whether or not she could handle him. She felt that she had a decent chance, especially if Emerald could protect Ken.

“Since you’ve caused me to lose face last time I was at the pavilion, I hope that you are willing to ask for forgiveness,” the Young Master said.

“Oh? If it’s an apology that you wanted, I’m sure I can give you one.”

“It’s not just an apology.” The Young Master’s smirk grew wider, throwing a glance on either side, looking at the people who were beginning to gather and whisper between one another.

“Isn’t that the Young Master of the Blackdeer family?”

“What’s he doing with that cripple?”

“Isn’t that the cripple whose an Arrayist?”

“An Arrayist? I thought he was an Alchemist?”

“I heard he was both!”

Ken remaining smiling, keeping his hands together on his lap. He had no worries in the situation, considering both Emerald and Chandi were beside him, and he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

“You’ve intruded into our home, acting disrespectful to many of our great families. Why don’t you apologise before me? I’ll allow you to kowtow right here, and if you are willing to refine pills for our family for a month, then I will assist you in smoothing it over with the other great families you have offended.” The Young Master threw out his arms, allowing the people around to applause him for his magnanimity.

Ken stared up at the Young Master, blinking a few times. “Unfortunately, Young Master Blackdeer, I am quite busy. Perhaps we should speak about this another time?” Ken motioned a hand and Emerald began to wheel him around the Young Master.

Emerald’s wrists were shaking slightly in anger as she wheeled Ken around the Young Master, but she let out a soft sigh.

[I don’t want to cause trouble for master…]

“You dare ignore me?” The Young Master narrowed his darkened eyes as Ken went around him. “Get him!”

The Martial Expert at the Young Master’s side dashed forward for Ken, reaching out with a threatening hand. “You dare ignore the Young Master of the Blackdeer family?”

Unfortunately for him, it was not a simple task to lay one’s hand on Ken. Chandi appeared in front of him, punching the man’s side with her gauntleted fist. He barely managed to block it, but he skid back slightly.

[This bitch! She’s not going to be easy to deal with…]

“You dare lay a hand on my man, wolf bitch?” The Young Master snarled at her, like he was a wolf bitch himself.

“How dare you attack my master in broad daylight! You attacked first, so don’t try to justify yourself!” Chandi spat back venomously, clenching her fist as she and the Expert eyed one another up.

The Young Master noted the people looking at the scene and then looked back to Ken.

[This is all your fault, damn it!]

“Kill her!” The Young Master pointed at Chandi, his finger shaking in anger.

"Just who is it that you're going to kill?" Ken asked, his voice level and calm. "Chandi, return to my side. If the Young Master wants to fight and cause trouble, I'll handle it."

Chandi and the Expert were about to go again, but Chandi retreated to beside Ken, wondering what he was planning. Seeing Chandi retreat, the Expert couldn’t step forward, otherwise the situation would fall again him and the Blackdeer family.

The Young Master was a Middle Martial Warrior, quite powerful in comparison to Ken.

“Oh?” The Young Master grinned. Since Ken had said he was going to handle the Young Master, how could he dare not step forward to meet the cripple? “A cripple dares to attack me?”

“Attack you? I don’t even need to raise a finger,” Ken replied back, smiling at him. “Since you want trouble, then why don’t you hurry it up. Didn’t I tell you, I was busy?”

“Hah!” The Young Master howled with laughter. “Look at this cripple, acting as though he owns the world! Let me show you what happens when you offend someone you can’t afford to offend!”

Black ki began to surround the Young Master’s fists and his boots. The crowd gasped as they watched, fear filling their eyes.

“Isn’t that?”

“The Young Master is going so far as to use that technique?”

“It’s too late now, cripple! Accept the taste of my Blackdeer Stampede!” The Young Master leapt into the air, well above all the buildings around them. Black ki continued to fly upwards, gathering around his hands and feet.

“Oh my, you’ve jumped so high.” Ken narrowed his eyes slightly, squinting as the sun covered his eyes.

Then the Young Master began to shower Ken with his attack, dozens of punches of black ki falling down towards the cripple and the two near him.

Chandi almost stepped forward to block the blows. “There’s no need,” Ken said, causing her to stop.

The black ki clattered up against a shield which formed around Ken, once which trembled under the might of the punches. The shield was yellow in colour, and was growing fainter and fainter as the black ki continued to pound against it.

“Do you really think that such a shield can protect you from my might?” The Young Master exclaimed, and then he gathered all of his ki towards his boots, and then straightened his body like he was an arrow. “Do you believe my family’s technique is too weak to break your pathetic shield? I can’t believe such a thing!”

Then the Young Master shot down towards Ken, the black ki still gathering all around his boots as he shot downward towards Ken.

Ken tried not to smile as the Young Master shot down, with the people around beginning to flee.

“That’s the end of the Blackdeer Stampede!”

“We need to get out of here!”

“Quickly!”

“Arrayist or Alchemist, that cripple is too unlucky!”

The Young Master roared in triumph as he shot down, but as he approached, Ken smiled slightly.

[Why’s he smiling?]

It was then that an explosion rocked the town, causing great alarm to the businesses around them as wood began to crack, the ground rumbled, and the people fell. Men, women, and children alike all began to scream.

When the smoke and dust eventually cleared, there was a terrible sight. The cripple and the two women near him were…

Fine?

There wasn’t a single scratch on the trio, but there was a blackened body nearby, one which had struck into a building and was sprawled around.

“Wait, isn’t that the…”

“Young Master!” the Martial Expert cried aloud, darting beside the Young Master, checking on his body. “Young Master!” He checked the body to see the burn marks, and the soft breath of the dying Young Master.

However, the explosion had called forth quite an audience as various individuals took note of something happening within the town. Something so loud would draw all manner of people.

“Who dares to make trouble in my town?” The voice boomed throughout the area as the Town Lord fell from the heavens, along with various high ranking individuals of the various families.
