Out from the shadows stepped out several hooded figures. They wore clothing which was as dark as the night, allowing them to blend in well to the surroundings.

[These aren’t your typical bandits…]

Lan had his sword out and the twins had their spears clutched, ready to defend the carriage.

The driver remained still, sweating constantly.

[Don’t involve me! I don’t know how to fight!]

“Come out you damn cripple! Hand over your goods, otherwise I can’t promise you a painless death!”

[It seems they already know who I am…]

Ken could assume who had sent them, but there was no need to ask them or to confirm anything. If it was them, then they wouldn’t have left a trail.

[Though, they aren’t that smart either…]

No, even if they did leave a trail, Ken’s poor luck would make it difficult for him to find it.

He looked to his side to see Emerald’s face. Her face was slightly scrunched together in rage, though it did look very pretty. Ken reached up and brushed her hair, before placing her veil over her face.

“It seems the families have come together to deal with me. Escorts, will you be able to handle it?"

"There are too many of them to handle it by our foursome…" Lan looked to his side, only to see Gin still passed out. “Threesome.”

Ken looked to Chandi and nodded, who dashed out of the carriage and held out her claw menacingly.

"Wow! They're desperate enough to even use a she bitch!"

“A one armed she bitch!”

The assassins let out a roar of laughter.

[You guys are too loud to be assassins.]

This was the entire group’s thoughts.

“Since he doesn’t want to come peacefully…”

The assassins then dashed forward, though were met with the might of the four warriors.

Lan caught the daggers of one assassin and ducked as another tossed a dagger passed him, only for Chandi to claw at it and then charge forward.

Ash and Lily worked side by side as well, their spears mirroring each other’s technique, creating a wave of blue and pink which engulfed across the assassins who tried to come close.

“Aren’t they the…”

“Twin Spears?”

“Damn…”

They managed to keep three assassins at bay, as two others were being held back by Lan and Chandi. The assassins were able to work together to overpower Lan quite easily, but Chandi was too much of an issue. She was, individually, stronger than either of them.

Lan slashed out, with one assassin catching his sword with their daggers, and another tried to cut at him from behind. Chandi appeared not a moment later, clawing at the assassin from the side, but they managed to defend themselves with their daggers.

“Fuck! This she bitch ain’t so bad!”

“What’s taking so long?”

Another assassin appeared from the bushes, reaching to rub the back of his head. He had an axe at his side, and had another assassin following him like a shadow.

“Boss!”

“We were almost done!”

The assassins held so much fear in their voices, though it only caused the boss to sigh. “Almost done? Looks like you’re having a bunch of trouble with some trashy escorts?”

“Aren’t you One Axe?” Lan asked. “I didn’t expect to meet you here.”

“Who the hell are you?”

“You probably haven’t heard of me, so there’s no need to even mention me.”

“Well, ain’t it a shame that you met me here?”

“A shame? Not likely.” Lan smiled. “You seem to be mistaken.”

“Mistaken?”

“It’s a shame that you met us here.”

One Axe roared with laughter. “Oh, really?” He darted forward, axe ready to swipe down as Chandi stepped forward, catching the axe with her claw, only to be forced back, slamming into the side of the carriage.

[Too strong!]

“M-master, he’s strong.” Chandi winced, feeling just how badly her one good arm hurt.

[If Chandi can’t handle him, then…]

Ken looked to Emerald, who looked down at him. Her eyes were questioning him, asking him for permission.

[Can I?]

Ken shook his head and then looked out, only to find an axe rapidly approaching him. He hadn’t even sensed the figure charging forward, and even Chandi couldn’t react in time to bring up her claw to deflect it.

“You’re all awfully, hic, loud for some assassins…” A blade had caught the axe, and One Axe could feel his muscles strain.

“Who the hell are you?”

Gin smiled. “They call me the…” Gin heaved and then vomited on the ground, bits of his dinner falling out, as well as his alcohol. “…” He brought up his gourd and used the last bit of alcohol to wash out his mouth.

“Wait, you’re-“

“Damn. I’m all out of alcohol…” Gin’s eyes turned white, and his forehead pulsed as veins protruded out. His entire face turned red. “First Drunken Sword.” A massive amount of ki exploded out of his sword as One Axe brought up his axe to try and defend himself.

From the dust, they could see his silhouette. Tall and lean, and overflowing with ki.

“I didn’t expect you to be here,” One Axe said, cutting through the dust so everyone could see his form again. “I should have asked for more compensation.”

“Second Drunken Sword.” Gin pointed his blade ahead of him and he dashed forward, his blade moving like an arrow, curving one way and another, causing two slashes to appear.

“Mighty Axe.” One Axe slashed downward with his all his might, slashing the ground beneath them and cutting it as he caught Gin’s blow.

“Left Spear!”

“Right Spear!”

The twins returned to attacking their assassins, charging out towards them. One of the assassins was pushed forward by their allies, being run through by both spears as the other two dashed around the Twin Spears.

“!!!”

“!!!”

The twins turned, but they were too late. The assassins had managed to get to the carriage, but then came the one armed slash of Chandi, which caused them to back away.

“Damn it!”

“Why aren’t you dealing with the she bitch?”

“So I can do this!” The assassin appeared in front of Ken, dagger in hand as he tried to attack through the door to reach the cripple, who was still watching the fight.

“Did you forget about me?” Lan asked, slashing at the dagger and stopping it in its tracks.

“You seem to have forgotten me,” the assassin behind him said, piercing his shoulder.

Lan grunted. “Who said I forgot about you?” Now that the assassin was so close, Lan aimed a kick back and kicked the assassin’s crotch.

“ARH!” The assassin’s balls were crushed, costing his future dearly.

The blow had cost Lan dearly as well, as the other assassin then shoved his dagger through Lan’s other shoulder.

“Fuck!” Lan grunted in pain.

Gin was too busy dealing with One Axe, his sword keeping One Axe at bay.

[Wait, wasn’t there one more?]

Lan felt a shadow loom over him, and as he looked back, he saw the shadow which had followed One Axe. His fingers had grabbed onto Lan’s face, and was about to twist the man’s neck when a roar echoed through the forest.

The various people around clutched at their heads, even the shadowy assassin. The fear had spread through their bodies, stopping them from moving.

Even Gin, who was still tipsy, could feel the fear set within him.

“Isn’t that…”

“That’s…”

"Aren't you having to much fun without me?" First Elder Wildroar asked, appearing from the brush. His wild grin could be seen by all under the stars.

"That's no good," came another familiar voice. "If you go on ahead, then won't it be awkward for me to show up late?" Patriarch Newblade arrived with six of his guards, with Young Miss Hana peeking out from behind him.

"Why don't we clean these fools up for the Arrayist?" Wildroar asked, offering the Patriarch a chance to save some face for arriving after him.

"I thought the same." Newblade replied, nodding his head.

“What is going on?” One Axe asked, looking to the new appearances.

“Didn’t you want to fight?” First Elder Wildroar asked, grinning even more wildly, more like a beast than a man.

“Boss…”

“We can’t handle these guys…”

The boss looked at First Elder Wildroar and then Patriarch Newblade. “Looks like we received a troublesome request this time.”

“It was just unfortunate for you,” Patriarch Newblade said.

“Any chance we could end things here?” One Axe asked. “I don’t feel like dying tonight.”

“You were here to kill the Arrayist, weren’t you?” Newblade asked. “Then your fate was sealed.”

One Axe sighed and then roared as the Newblade guards charged forward, assisting the escorts in driving the assassins back. Some of them tried to flee, but they were outnumbered, and so were quickly cut down.

One Axe tried to flee, but Gin continued to pressure him. The assassin knew he wouldn’t be able to flee, so he continued to fight with Gin. The Ten Drunken Swords was hard to fight against due to how unpredictable the last seven forms were.

[This drunk bastard is too tough! It’s a good thing he isn’t passed out, otherwise…]

As the pair met blades again, One Axe kicked Gin in the gut, causing Gin to fly back and hit the carriage, and he turned to flee. Gin vomited more, cursing the fact that he was wasting so much good alcohol.

Wildroar looked back at One Axe, but let him go. He remained nearby because he could feel another great presence nearby.

"Looks like I was too late to assist," called a familiar voice, a figure emerging from the bushes.

“First Elder Blackdeer,” Wildroar said.
