The Young Masters and Young Misses all looked at Ken as he finished dressing up. Some of the Young Misses didn’t mind looking at his body, as he was a fairly handsome young man. They assumed that’s why the Young Masters came together to sort him out, that, and for their own power tripping egos.

“Let’s go, Chan,” Ken said, beginning to walk towards the exit.

“Where are you going?” Young Master Swordbane asked, stepping forward to cut off Ken’s path. “I don’t believe I gave you permission to leave.”

“To the Town Lord, of course. This one is unsure of how this town works since I’m so new, but is it appropriate for the Young Master to view himself as above the Town Lord?” Ken tilted his head, smiling innocently.

The Young Master flushed. “This one is merely a Young Master, how could I possibly be able to manage the affairs of the Town Lord?”

“Well then, why don’t we all go see the Town Lord together then? I would like to hear what he thinks about our business with one another.” Ken continued to smile.

“Since you are putting on such airs, I would like to see if you truly know the Town Lord. If you are lying, I hope you don’t blame me for being rude. Shall we all assist him?” Young Master Swordbane asked, meaning that at least the minor families would assist him.

Ken smiled, wondering what kind of faces they would be making once they met with the Town Lord. He wondered if he should reveal his Master’s status as well, but decided against it for now.

Ken led the group, with Chan behind him to create a buffer between the others and her Master.

“He seems to be going the right way,” Young Master Hammerbane said, wondering if Ken was an entity he should have messed with.

“He’ll start to panic soon, and then we’ll be able to deal with him.” The Young Master was sure that he was in the right, as Ken was probably scared stiff and trying to figure out a way to escape.

[This charlatan will wet himself soon enough.]

They continued to approach the Town Lord’s estate, and as Ken approached the gates, he waved to the guards. “Good afternoon, is the Town Lord about?”

“Who are you?” The guard glared down at Ken, who was just some little brat asking for the Town Lord.

“Disciple Ken,” Ken said, smiling up at the man.

The guard was about to bark at the young man before something in the back of his head poked him.

[Disciple Ken. Disciple Ken.]

The name sounded so familiar, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

“My Master is the Alchemist who is providing the Town Lord with pills and elixirs,” Ken said, helping the guard get to his destination.

The guard quickly stood up straighter, understanding who this young man was. “Greetings to Disciple Ken!”

“Greetings to you as well,” Ken replied back.

“The Town Lord is around, I’ll send word that you have arrived.” The guard looked to the other people all around, all of whom held quite a high status. “Why are there so many Young Masters and Young Misses about? Should I send word to the Town Lord that there is an audience to be requested?” Having so many of these youngsters around was quite some news for the guard.

“It just so happened that when I was cultivating, these Young Masters and Young Misses tried to assault me.” Ken smiled innocently.

“What?” The guard blinked, having not understood the blunt words that Ken had said.

“Disciple Ken, you should be careful with your words. Slander against our families is not appreciated.” Young Master Swordbane was shocked that Ken wasn’t giving him any face at all.

“I suppose what you said has some truth in it. I was cultivating, and when I came to, I saw some of their guards assaulting my own guard. However, she was only defending me, so one could say they were trying to assault me, isn’t that true?” Ken turned to Chan.

“They said they wanted to teach my Master a lesson and then bring him to the Town Lord. Their guards stepped forward to attack me in order to get to him.” Chan nodded her head.

“I will send word to the Town Lord immediately,” the guard said hurriedly.

[You god damn brats! Why are you bringing so many issues up for the Town Lord?]

“There’s no need to make it bigger than this,” Young Master Swordbane said. “Let’s apologise and leave it at that. Since I thought you were scrupulous young man I rushed to deal with you for the betterment of the town.”

“Well, if you’re sincere, I wouldn’t mind an apology,” Ken said, careful with his words.

"We apologise for interrupting your cultivation, Disciple Ken. We hope that you will forgive us." Young Master Swordbane smiled as though he meant it.

“Are you not going to apologise for trying to assault me?” Ken asked, wanting them to admit what they were really doing, and not trying to make it lighter than it seemed.

“That was just a simple misunderstanding, Disciple Ken.” Young Master Swordbane continued to smile.

"What about my guard, who was surrounded and attacked to defend me? You aren't going to apologise to her?" Ken tilted his head slightly, knowing how they would respond.

“Apologise to a she bitch?” Young Master Swordbane raised his brows in shock. “Isn’t that a little inappropriate?” There was no way he would apologise to a beast person.

Ken smiled. "Then let’s wait for the Town Lord to clear up the misunderstanding, since it seems I can’t hear any sincerity.”

[Fuck! Me and my stupid mouth! I should have been more polite.]

Young Master Swordbane could feel a little panic creep into him. This had gone a little out of hand, and even Young Master Hammerbane was giving him a look.

[What the fuck have you gotten me into?]

The Town Lord has heard that Ken needed to speak with him quite urgently, so he stopped what he was doing and went to meet Ken. He moved just quickly enough so that Ken felt as though he was giving the young man respect, but not too quickly to look like a pushover.

The Town Lord looked between Ken and all the other Young Masters and Young Misses.

[There’s no way this is going to be something so cliche…]

“What’s the matter?” Town Lord Goldenthunder asked calmly.

Ken smiled, and told him what had happened from his side. The Young Masters and Young Misses replied back with what happened from their side, which amounted to them seeing a scrupulous young man who was half naked and wanted to make sure that he wasn’t someone who was causing trouble.

[You stupid little shits! How could you trouble Disciple Ken? What the hell am I meant to do now?]

There was no way he could give a proper punishment to the Young Masters and Young Misses, otherwise he’d never hear the end of it from the families. However, if he risked ruining the relationship with this young man and his Master, his family wouldn’t be able to finally gain an edge over the other families.

“I have heard what you both have said, and can see that there was right and wrong on both sides. Perhaps you could cover up when you next cultivate, and perhaps one could be more calm when dealing with such matters?” He said to both the young men. “However, since Disciple Ken’s guard was attacked…” He looked to Ken. “How do you wish for this to be resolved?”

Ken could see that the Town Lord was trying to be diplomatic, and he could see the look in the Town Lord’s eyes.

[Please be gentle.]

“If they had apologised and admitted to their wrong doings, I wouldn’t have taken this matter so far. However, since the Town Lord has asked me to resolve this matter, I will do my best.” Ken smiled at the Town Lord.

The Town Lord didn’t relax, as Ken could have easily taken this further, far enough that things would become troublesome.

“I will bar the families of Swordbane, Swordfall, Swordrain, Hammerbane, Hammerock, and Hammerton from purchasing any of the pills and elixirs that my Master and I create. This includes those from within the Commerce Pavilion. They will also not receive any of the pills which are bought by the Town Lord, either those personally sold to the Town Lord, or those which were sold for the town.”

The Town Lord and the Young Masters and Young Misses sighed. This wasn’t a big deal at all. The Town Lord knew that these brats didn’t understand how big of a deal was.

"Since this will make things right, then we must accept. We apologise again, Disciple Ken." Young Master Swordbane placed his hand together apologetically, and the others each accepted the punishments in a similar manner.

"Since you've accepted the punishment, let's leave the matter here.” Ken smiled. “However, if someone wishes to disturb my cultivation again, then I may have to ask the Town Lord for a greater punishment, like barring certain individuals from entering an area in where they are causing trouble." Ken continued to smile innocently.

"I will take it into consideration. Thank you for you leniency, Disciple Ken." Young Master Swordbane felt like he had gotten off with a slap on the wrist.

[At least you know your place, you disciple bastard.]

[I bet you’re thinking you got away for free ruining my day, huh? Just you wait…]
