"Would you like a newspaper, sir?"

A half boy with a dirty cap and a huge leather satchel appeared in front of Lynch.

The boy looked about eleven or twelve years old. He looked forward to Lynch, opened his satchel and revealed the newspaper inside.

These children are under the management of various "newspaper headlines", which are not newspaper headlines, but the managers of those newspaper children.

By virtue of some relations or means or other ways, they firmly control the mobile newspaper selling market in some areas. Here, only their own Newsboy can sell newspapers, others can't come in, and the book and newspaper stall is not among them.

Every morning, they would gather outside the newspaper office, load the newspaper with machine heat on the scooter, pull it back to their "base", then distribute it to these half aged children and drive them to the street.

Every child will have a sales standard. At the minimum, if it is lower than this limit, they will be beaten or starved. Only after exceeding this standard can they enjoy food without any reward.

Welfare homes and some poor families have taken away the remuneration for their work. All they have to do is work as much as possible in exchange for a shelter from the wind and rain and two meals of subsistence food.

Some people may think this is hell, but compared with those who live in a more desperate abyss, these children are like in heaven.

Lynch took out a one dollar note from his pocket and chose two newspapers. The local newspapers were 50 cents each, and the national newspapers were one dollar each.

The newsboy constantly thanked Lynch for his patronage and even took off his hat and bowed. For Lynch, a dollar and two newspapers may only be an unavoidable part of life, but they are also the salvation the child wants most every day.

The child was ready to leave, but Lynch called him back.

"Is there anything else I can do for you, sir?" asked the half-aged child.

Children like him often adapt to this society better than those who have good family conditions and are still in school. Looking at the young but smiling face that has been ripened by reality, Lynch has some feelings.

This is the worst time, but it is also the best time.

He asked, "do you want to make money?"

The child nodded immediately. "I dream of Sir, but I don't do anything illegal."

Where there is light, there will be darkness. The brighter the darkness sets off the light, on the contrary, the light will make the darkness darker.

Some people use children to sell newspapers, but others use children to commit crimes. These are not top secret rumors. In the process of the vigorous development of this society, everyone is fascinated by wealth.

As long as you can make money, someone will always do it, no matter what it is.

Lynch shook his head. "Do you have ninety-seven?"

Although the newsboy hesitated, he quickly took 97% out of his pocket. He had some change in his pocket, which was arranged to be put in everyone's backpack when he came out.

The money doesn't belong to them. When they go back, the headlines will count. If someone loses money or loses money, they will suffer from hunger or beating, which also makes the children very sensitive to money.

Looking at the ninety-seven cents in the child's hand - all coins, Lynch took out another dollar, put one dollar in the child's left hand, and took ninety-seven cents from his other hand.

"Sir, there's still three points less here. I'll give it to you now..." the newsboy thought Lynch wanted to change. Urban transportation is generally ten and twenty-five points, one within five kilometers and the other outside five kilometers.

No matter it's the bus or the subway, there's no change. If you give 50 cents, they'll only give you two tickets, not one and change.

This also makes many people more or less prepare some change with them to avoid losses.

Lynch stopped the newsboy's action and repeatedly asked, "do you want to make money?"

The newsboy didn't react. He was a little uneasy that he could take advantage of it for the first time. He hesitated before nodding and saying, "yes, sir, I want to dream!"

The smile on Lynch's face makes the child seem to see the rising sun. It's not dazzling. The light is very gentle, but it can tear the darkness and illuminate the whole sky!

"Do you have ninety-seven?" he asked again.

After a brief period of amazement, shock and bewilderment, the newsboy quickly took out 97% of the bag and held it in the palm of his hand.

His face turned red. He could see that he was excited, nervous, nervous and suspicious. He looked at Lynch with clear eyes and what the guy was going to do in front of him.

Lynch took out another dollar, put it in the newsboy's hand, and took 97% of his other hand. He smiled and asked, "do you want to make money?"

At this time, the newsboy trembled with excitement. He nodded again and again and found all the change that could make up 97%, "it's all here, sir..."

Lynch counted twelve dollars and put them in his hand, and put all the change in his pocket. "It seems that you have only so much."

The newsboy was a little excited. Although he only changed 14 yuan from Lynch, his own income had 42 points, nearly half of one yuan.

You know, no matter how well he does his current job, he won't get even a penny. The newspaper will give all the remuneration to the welfare home.

This Newsboy is the child who grew up in the welfare home. In the words of the welfare home, they should do something for the welfare home. After all, the welfare home raised them so much and didn't ask for anything in return.

Generally speaking, as long as they are over the age of 10 and are not adopted, the probability of being adopted later is very small. Except for some girls, they are adopted for other reasons and purposes.

However, the welfare home will not take much care. When the children are over 14, they can refuse to be adopted. At the same time, when they are over 16, they have to leave here and enter the society alone to survive.

In other words, boys over the age of 10 are basically at the "edge" of welfare homes. It is difficult to earn adoption subsidies and donations from these children, so they must go to work.

They have to use their work to compensate for the efforts made by the welfare home to raise them over the years. It doesn't matter whether it's right or not, because no one will care about them. Everyone's eyes will only focus on things related to their vital interests.

How to integrate into the society as soon as possible after being expelled from the welfare home and find a shelter is the biggest headache for these children.

If they can get some money before they leave, they don't need much. As long as they can survive for a short time, they have a chance to survive.

Lynch's change made the child find a bright way, just as he asked before - do you want to make money?

And his own answer - dream!

Put the money away. The newsboy hesitated and asked, "Sir, will you still be here tomorrow?"

Lynch nodded. "I'll be here before lunch. If I'm not here, I'll show up the next day!" he tapped his wrist with his finger. "You still have enough time..."

These children who had begun to contact the society immediately understood Lynch's meaning. About ten minutes later, a group of newsboys gathered here, and others kept coming.
