A few weeks later a carriage pulled by a blood-red wolf rolled into the capital, the walls of the capital were still as domineering as always carved with runic formations that left of a soft hum as they glowed in the dim evening light with untold power, Mike glanced out of the window in the carriage up at the walls for a few moments before he pulled the window shut again and leaned back in his seat, he was nervous but only a little bit
"I sure hope Hector doesn't kill himself once we tightened the nose…"
Julie showed a smile as hatred flashed in her eyes at the mention of Hector
"I think he'll get on his knees and beg for forgiveness instead"
"You think so..? Well sure he could do that… But that would not be fun…"
Julie stood up and moved from her seat opposite of Mike over to his side and sat herself down on his lap and stroked his head
"Be careful of my horns now…"
"Don't worry, I know how to tame this bull"
Mike showed a smile but just as he was about to continue flirting with Julie there was a knock on the door of the carriage, a sharp red light flashed in the eyes of both Mike and Julie, Mike, however, was faster to snap of the two of them as he yelled
"What!?"
Rebecca's voice came from outside the carriage
��Excuse me, master, we're about to pass through the checkpoint…"
"And?"
"And the guards request you step out"
Mike was about to answer when Julie kicked the door to the carriage open on the opposite side and stepped out, she was wearing a red dress that showed her shoulders and her back which instantly stunned the crowd, one of the guard-looking-people called out
"This is a random inspection, please corporate"
Julie showed a sweet smile and opened her hand as suddenly a blue flame burned in the form of a sword that appeared out of the smoke, then she slashed out cutting the guard in half right down the middle of his head in a single motion she called out
"2 seconds!"
Mike called out at the same time
"5 seconds!"
"Oh yeah, baby! Bring it here"
Julie gave a sigh and walked over before she kissed Mike on the cheek which made him show a smile before he advised Julie
"Julie your sword is way too sharp and leave a way too clean a cut for a person to only stick together for 2 seconds"
"Yeah… It seems that way, don't worry I'll get you the next time"
Meanwhile, the guards snapped out of their daze and became, shall we say riled up? Anyway they attempted to mount an attack on Mike and Julie as Mike spoke to Rebecca
"Rebecca, announce us"
Rebecca instantly churned her mana as she yelled with a mana infused voice
"You imbeciles! This is his lordship Mike and her ladyship Julie the rulers of the city of Brem and members of the house of Blood!"
Then she churned her mana up an extra notch and yelled again
"WHOEVER STANDS IN THEIR WAY WILL BE CUT DOWN, NOW KNELL!!!"
The guards exchanged looks of horror and kneeled down at once, so did the people within 100 meters, they all knew what nobles were capable of doing to ordinary people, Mike showed a smile and asked a random guard
"So this random inspection… How long is it going to last?"
"I-I-It's already d-d-done, your lordship!"
"I see then we'll return to our carriage"
Mike and Julie stepped back into their carriage as the people around and the guards heaved a collective mental sigh of relief as the carriage drove into the capital, Mike sent a mental message to the servants that then proceeded to carry out his orders which included finding an inn that was fit to their social status and killing off any annoying 'rats' that were squeaking around them, once Mike and Julie were settled in an inn on the glamorous main road the body count had exceeded 20, but that wasn't anything Mike was interested in currently, he summoned Michal the previous lord of Brem to his and Julie's room to get some information about the noble assembly
"Well first off it's hosted in the castle's main hall, there all nobles of the island will be assembled, after the general worship of the king the assembly will begging with a lengthy report of each city's revenue, then it will be the voting on a few subjects, this, of course, includes revoking titles which I understand is why you are participating in this meeting in the first place, right master?"
"Yeah, else I couldn't be bothered… Hector has to get his title revoked before I can kill him without repercussions..."
"I understand master… Well that is basically how the assembly will go, oh right there's also the noble duels after the voting which is there to make sure that internal conflicts are handled before they split apart the island, but I imagine nothing interesting will happen there"
Julie gave a nod and waved her hand
"You are dismissed, Mike and I need to have a talk"
"Yes, mistress. Rest well master, mistress"
Michel gave a bow and excused himself from the room, Mike leaned back in the couch and waited for Julie to start talking which she did after a few moments
"So… This is it right?"
Mike showed a smile
"Yup, after torturering Hector to death we'll head to the harbor and leave Thera to get married"
Julie showed a sweet smile and sat down next to Mike in the expensive couch before she leaned in and gave him a quick kiss, then she asked
"Have you already found out how to torture him?"
Mike gave a nod as a red light flashed in his eyes
"Yeah, I figured we would waterboard him until we get tired of it, then skin him alive?"
Julie gave a giggle and kissed Mike once again before she spoke
"Sound good"
The night passed uneventfully and early the next morning Mike awoke, as usual, he sat up in the bed and stretched before he looked over to the side and saw Julie as usual still in dreamland, he showed a smile as he watched her sleep peacefully but then he got the urge to tease her so he ever so slowly inched his finger closer to her face until he poked her soft cheek, Julie seemed undisturbed by the poke and kept sleeping so Mike showed a teasing smile and poked her cheek once more, this time she showed a slight frown before she turned over on the other side
'Oh no princess, you're not getting away that easily…'
Mike continued poking her cheek until Julie slowly opened her eyes, after blinking a few times she seemed to have woken up and looked at Mike with soft eyes before she extended her arms out
"Carry~"
'Well well well… looks like I have no choice'
Mike picked up the still half asleep Julie in his arms, even though she had endured hellish training her body was free of scars and soft as always, Mike for the sake of his own sanity, however, was forced to ignore how soft her body was as he asked in a serious tone
"Where to, princess?"
Julie blinked a few times before she was about to give a command, unfortunately, she seemed to have fallen asleep again, leaving Mike hanging as she gently snored in his embrace like a spoiled kitten, Mike gave a sigh and sat down on the bed again as he watched her sleep peacefully with a soft smile on his face, demon though he was he still loved Julie with all his heart

Mike looked off in the distance for a few moments before he noticed Julie stir slightly and looked down at her again, this time red eyes greeted him as Julie now seemed to be fully awake

"Yeah Morning Julie… What do you say we go conner ourselves a rat?"
