Duke sighed as he finished getting dressed, he had just taken a shower though he didn't feel clean at all, even now when he looked at his hands he still felt that they were covered in blood, the blood of his people

Duke sighed once again, he was only level 5 and his natural talent seemed to have reached its end, he was never the one that should have inherited the city

Duke muttered the name of his sister who was studying in the noble's academy at the moment, he had always looked up to her

The maid opened the door and walked in before she bowed her head and spoke
"The lord is ready for you, please follow me"

Mike was busy stuffing his face, with food, of course, he was currently on his 36th plate of roasted meat and 12th plate of grilled vegetables, Julie watched him eat with a slight smile, she asked him
"How much more?"
Mike chewed before he raised 3 fingers, Julie tilted her head and asked
"3? 3 what? Plates? Whole roasts?"
"Plates… Jesus woman, what do you think of me..?"
"Jesus? Who's that?"
"Our Lord and savior of course, well not mine… Or ours… Not anymore anyway…"
"You're not making any sense Mike…"
"Well anyway, 3 more plates of each, and I should be good"

Julie sighed before she sent a mental message to the Wind spirits ordering more food, once Mike finished eating the 3 plates he breathed out and crossed his legs, and closed his eyes, and went into a trance as he began muttering gibberish sounds that sounded like something in-between glass breaking and something ancient hissing at an intruder on its territory, Julie watched him for a moment to make sure he was okay then she stood up and sent a mental message to all the Wind spirits in the vicinity
"Close it off… Kill all who attempts to enter the building!"
Then she summoned her [Demon sword] and stroked the blade for a bit before she sat down and closed her eyes, focusing on the mental network and the sounds around her, outside the building the WInd spirits locked down the area and stood guard… A few hours later horrible roars of pain were heard from inside the building as the entire area shook as… Mike was in the process of changing, Julie could hardly believe what she was seeing, Mike's entire body was being reforged as he hovered mid-air with crossed legs, suddenly a voice sounded out in the room
"Humph… Took him longer than I expected…"
Julie shuddered, instinctively she knew that this was the one Mike had talked about, so she bowed down at once and spoke
"Elder…"
"You must be Julie… Indeed a splendid child, Mike has chosen well…"
"I am honored"
Julie peeked over towards Mike and saw that his body now was covered in blue flames, she felt worried for him and was about to reach out to him when the elder spoke again
"Don't worry child… Everything is fine"
"I… Okay…"
Julie watched as Mike's skin began melting off showing his muscles underneath, soon they also melted showing his organs and bones, with a flash most of the organs melted away leaving only his brain inside his skull and his white bones that soon were charred by the fire, Julie asked the elder
"Is this really okay?"
"Hush child… Mike is being reborn, watch…"
As the elder spoke Mike's now pitch black bones began being covered with muscles as his organ regrew, only his muscles were a dark blue instead of the normal red, then skin regrew, it was a dark blue color, and a tail also grew from his tailbone which had a spaded tip made of bone, his horns were also longer and they were a dull blue color, the triangle mark in the middle of his forehead had turned into a bright red six-pointed star, the elder spoke again, Julie could sense the joy in her voice for the first time
"...And that's that, Mike has now been reborn as my kin"
Julie stood up and walked over to Mike before she called out to him
"Mike…"
Julie felt the presence of the elder disappear, Julie touched Mike's skin, it felt smooth to the touch, Mike twitched before he slowly opened his eyes and blinked a few times before he looked over at Julie before he showed a smile, the white's of his eyes had turned black and the pupils and irises had turned blue, Mike suddenly spoke out
"All your base are belong to us"
"....What?"
Mike laughed before he explained
"You know because I look like an alien now?"
Julie looked even more confused so Mike simply patted her on the head and asked
"How do I look?"
Julie showed a sweet smile before she took his hand and cuddled it against her cheek
"Like my husband"
"Oh… I see… Well, I feel, a little… Blue?"
"Yeah, you are blue Mike… And your bones are black"
"...Like a true demon of hell..."
Mike feel silent for a moment as he began thinking as he did his new tail began swinging from side to side until he suddenly caught it in his peripheral vision and turned his head
"Wait what the fuck!"
He quickly grabbed his tail and began examining it before he muttered
"I have a question for the elder… Why?"
Julie looked at his new tail for a moment before she spoke
"I think it's cute"
Mike paused before he sighed and accepted his new limb, then he muttered
"This is going to take some getting used to…"
Julie nodded before she sent out a mental message to the Wind spirits to lower the security around the building again…
The next day Mike walked out of the building into the sun, the people on the street looked at him in awe for a few seconds before they seemed to accept his changed appearance, Mike offered his hand to Julie
"Here my lady, let me escort you around"
Julie giggled and took his hand before the two of them set off to stroll the streets, they seemed entirely unconcerned by the fact that a human army with about 5.000 soldiers had been reported heading in this direction and would arrive sometime tomorrow, they simply strolled around the city, stopping to eat on the way at a cafe, as they were strolling around Mike and Julie suddenly felt a hostile gaze on them and looked over, a soldier from the Fire iron army walked over and spoke
"Mike and Julie?"
Mike narrowed his eyes slightly as his tail swung from side to side behind his legs, Julie also felt annoyed being interrupted and asked
"That's us, what do you want?"
The soldier spoke, still without a shred of respect
"General Gorge has requested a meeting, follow after me"
Mike narrowed his eyes to slits and just as he was about to end this pitiful creature Julie spoke
"We're busy, so why don't you tell your so-called general to come to us?"
The soldier trembled with rage before he asked
"...Will you reconsider?"
"No, now fuck off"

After the soldier stormed off Mike breathed a sigh before he asked Julie
"Want to watch the sunset from the walls?"

Meanwhile, the soldier returned to general Gorge with haste, once he had reported Mike and Julie's refusal he gave a salute before he turned and left the office, inside the office Gorge sat in a chair, he was fuming with rage and swore
"I'll gut you like a pig Mike!"
The night passed quietly and the next day dawned, Julie woke up and found no sign of Mike so she quickly contacted him on the mental network
"I am on the southern wall"
"Okay… I'll be right there"
Julie sighed as her plans of morning cuddles were thrown out of the window as she quickly got dressed in her clothes and then she wore her leather armor and summoned her wings and flew off towards the southern part of the wall, there she quickly found Mike that was watching the human army in the distance with a slight frown on his face, Julie walked over and stood next to him and for a bit the two of them said nothing until suddenly Mike let out a sigh before he spoke
"Well then, let's see what the humans have in store this time… Though with you by my side Julie I fear nothing"

The two of them linked hands as they stood and watched the approaching army
