Chapter 185: Start of the hunt

When Nicolai looked at the beaten figure on the floor he felt hatred bubbling up into his mind, instead of letting the hatred take him over he sighed before he kneeled down and spoke
"Thank you General for this opportunity"
Nicolai looked to his side and saw his younger sister Jean, her face was filled with fear as she looked at their father, fear along with some well-hidden hatred, Nicolai spoke
"He can't hurt us anymore Jean"
From there he stood up and drew his sword as he walked closer to the king, the king seemed to realize what was happening and yelled
"It was you, you little bastard!"
Nicolai nodded before he spoke as he stabbed down with his sword
"Yes it was me father"
Nicolai's sword went straight through the king's heart, the king struggled for a few moments before he succumbed to his wounds and breathed his last, then without pulling the sword out Nicolai walked back over to his sister and spoke
"He can't hurt us anymore Jean"
Jean nodded as she gazed at the dead body of her father, seemingly trying to burn the picture of it into her eyes before she turned away and hugged her brother tightly, Mike nodded before he spoke
"Well then… That's that, Let's start the hunt for real… Beel, if you would"
"Sure thing Mike…"
A moment later 2 portals opened up as Beel spoke again
"Nicolai send your sister through the left portal, I'll take care of her personally at home"
Nicolai nodded, then he spoke a few words to his sister, meanwhile, Mike asked the ever-present Beel
"Have you located the last two?"
"...I've narrowed down their positions"
"Okay, thank you Beel"
"You're welcome Mike, now once you pass through that portal they will be able to feel you, as will you be able to feel them, assume you'll be attacked at once"
Mike nodded
"In that case send us some Wind spirits, a few dozen level 8's should do, also send over two Wyrens"
"Sure, give me a moment…"
While Beel sent over the Wind sprits Mike thought out a basic formation they would move in, he would be in the middle while Mel, Lucy, and Nicolai would be riding Wyren's behind him, the level 7's which was Gas, Maxwell, and Lucy would be flying ahead, to his right and to his left, while the level 8 Alexa would be in the front middle, then the two level 9's Julie and Alexander would be in the front scouting ahead with some space in between them, Mike quickly informed the demon's of the formation before he spoke again
"There's no reason to be nice once we reach the new Prime world, if time allows it we'll devour everything in our way"
The demons gathered nodded before Mike spoke again
"Oh and prioritize feeding the weak, we'll grow the one's that can't fly on their own first"
The demons nodded once again, at this point the portal to the left closed as the people that needed to pass through had passed through, then Mike nodded and spoke again
"Well then, let's get on with it"
Then he walked through the portal, on the other side he appeared above a city, surrounding the portal was several people
"Oh, hey there"
Mike spoke to them in a friendly tone which caused them to lower their guard slightly before he flapped his wings hard and buried the knife in the eyesocket of the youngest member of the group, she didn't even scream, not even as Mike twisted the knife, then Mike kicked the corpse to the side before the group reacted, one of the younger members screamed
"Nicole!"
At this point the group sprung into action, they all drew their weapons and charged at Mike, leaving their backs bare to the two that came out of the portal next, it was Julie and Alexander that charged at the group of 8 and in an instance cut down two of them, then came Alexa, Lucy and Gas and instantly overwhelmed the group and cut them to pieces, soon the rest emerged from the portal, Mike looked down at the city below them before he closed his eyes and felt the location of the new guardian of the wheel, then he spoke
"Raze the city!"
A couple of hours later the once-prosperous city had been turned into a scene from hell, in the plaza, a giant pile of mutilated bodies was stacked up high, realizing black smoke as it burned, the city was eerily empty of blood splatter since Mike had gathered it all and used [Drink], Lucy, Mel and Nicolai was standing in the plaza, in front of them were lines of people that they cut down one by one before Gas and Lucy threw their bodies onto the burning pile, the lines of people were under the strict guard of the Wind sprits, in the air above the plaza Mike floated with Julie nestled up to him as she spoke
"Reminds me of of the old days"
"...Yeah, it does… Heh, thankfully we have people to cook for us now"
"I still do like your food though…"
"Yeah I know"
Mike suddenly looked to the west, in the distance he could see a caravan approaching the city, thus he spoke
"Alexa, Alexander"
The two quickly appeared in front of him, then Mike pointed to the west and spoke
"Go check their goods, after you killed them that is"
""Yes General""
Mike detected faint unhappiness in Alexa's voice and showed a smile before he spoke to her
"Do this for me and we'll play a sung afterward"
"Yay! I wonder what we should play..?~"
Mike watched Alexa and Alexander quickly fly west to raid the caravan, then he felt Julie pinch his arm
"Ouch, Julie come on, don't get jealous…"
Julie pouted before she nodded, then she spoke with a smile on her face
"If you don't want your wife to get jealous you should shower her with love tonight"
"Yes, Ma'am!"
Soon the two returned, with them came a strong scent of blood, Alexander spoke
"We're in luck General, they were caring some monster cores, along with basic goods"
"...Okay, take the preserved goods and the monster cores and burn the rest"
Then Mike drew his hammer and the knife before he turned to Alexa that seemed to ready to go before he spoke
"Let's play"
"Song~ Sing a song!~"
Alexa charged at him with a pair of long swords, soon the two of them were locked in high-speed combat as slightly rhythmic clangs of metal meeting metal sounded out over the entire city…
The next morning Mike woke up in a very soft bed, he sat himself up and stretched before he looked at his side and saw Julie curled up like a small animal next to him, Mike showed a smile before he patted her on the head until she opened her eyes and looked up at him with a smile on her face, after the two of them got dressed Mike and Julie walked out of the previous city lord's bedroom, Mike sent a couple of mental messages to the demons to finish up what they were doing and gather up soon in the plaza, the first to arrive was Mel and Lucy, they both looked fine so Mike greeted them with a nod before he asked them
"How close are you girls to level 7?"
Mel spoke out first
"Another 2 or 3 cities of this size and I'll be there"
Lucy nodded
"I need another city this size, I am close"
Mike nodded before he pointed to the carriage that stood to the side of the plaza
"There should be enough monster cores for you two to level up in there, go use them until you reach level 7"
"Yes, General"
"Yes Mike, thank you"
The two of them walked over and began using monster cores, the next one to arrive was Nicolai that also seemed fine, though Mike noticed him glancing at the corpse pile, so he asked
"First time you see so many bodies in one place?"
"...Yeah"
Mike patted him on the shoulder before he asked
"Do you regret it? Taking their lives?"
"No... Regret is for the weak"
"Then what do you feel about that pile of bodies?"
"...I feel nothing at all… And that what scares me"
Mike nodded before he pointed to the carriage and spoke
"There are monster cores in there, you are free to use the rest once the girls finish getting to level 7"
"Yes, General"
"Oh… And hold on to that feeling of wrong, it'll help you in the long run"

Soon Alexa arrived along with Maxwell following after her, Mike greeted them with a nod, Maxwell returned the nod but Alexa was too busy looking at the pile of corpses, what she was thinking was a mystery, as usual, soon Alexander arrived and greeted Mike as he knelled down and spoke
