Chapter 187: Test of foresight

As the group moved Mike paid special attention to Telia and the rest of the Ravi tribe members that had joined them, he was curious about how useful they would be in an actual combat situation
'Let's test it out…'
Soon the group passed over another city, Mike signaled the group to halt before he looked at the horizon, it was around afternoon, a perfect time to start a raid, as they hovered above the city many eyes looked op at them, soon a couple of people floated up and greeted the group, it was an aged man, two men that bore similarities to him and 4 guards, the aged man spoke out with respect to the group
"Greetings travelers from afar"
Mike flapped his wings and flew to the front of the group, as he faced the aged man he spoke
"From your mana signature, you should be around level 7… Impressive for such a small city… I have a proposal"
The elder showed deep respect when he looked at Mike and nodded, anyone capable enough to speak for such a great group of high-level people would surely be very powerful himself
'If I can recruit one or two from this group my position will raise ten-fold!'
Mike chuckled as if he read the city lord's mind before he spoke as he pointed to Telia
"Kill this woman and I won't burn down your city and slaughter everyone in it"
The elderly city lord's face froze before he began nervously laughing and then he asked
"Is this some sort of practical joke?"
Mike sighed before he fired off a [Blood boiler] at one of the guards which instantly made him exploded into a bloody mist before he looked at the elderly city lord again and asked with a wide slime on his face
"Does it look like I am joking?"
The elderly city lord's face darkened slightly before his gaze found Telia that had separated herself from the group and drawn a sword and grown out her crystal antlers and 'stood' ready, then the city lord yelled
"Kill her!"
The remaining 3 guards nodded before they charged at Telia and slashed out with their swords, the swords, however, seemed to have a mind on their own as they slid just over Telia's skin without harming her, next Telia's sword flashed as the heads of the 3 servants went flying before she scoffed and spoke
"Is that all..?"
The elderly city lord trembled slightly before he glanced at Mike that looked at him with a slight smile, then he gritted his teeth and waved his staff, however before he managed to fire off a speel Telia's sword sent his head flying before she turned to Mike and kneeled down in the air before she spoke with a happy tone
"Did that please you, General?"
Mike nodded and looked at Telia for a few moments fínding the latter more and more reliable before he nodded again as he spoke
"Very good… Take the east entrance Telia"
Telia's face lit up with a very happy feeling for a moment before it returned to normal, a shame no one witnessed it because her face was still pointed down when she raised her head she looked resolutely at Mike before she spoke
"Yes, General"
Then she waved her hand and lead down the other Ravi tribe members down towards the east gate of the city, Mike looked up and spoke to the rest of the demons
"Alexander take West, Alexa take North, Julie go North too, Gas, Nicolai, Lucy, and Jucy go to the South"
Maxwell remained when the rest descended down to the city, Maxwell asked with a smile on his face, he knew why Mike had kept him up here
"And what shall I do, General?"
Mike showed a smile that made Maxwell trembled slightly as he spoke
"Release the locust, make it rain"
Maxwell nodded
"Yes, General"
Time passed, by the evening the group left the ransacked city, they chose not to stay in the city as the city had… Well… Been melted to the ground by Maxwell's locusts, shall we say? Anyway, there was no city to stay the night in, so they moved a couple of hundred kilometers away from the city and set up camp in the middle of the night, this proved no problem as most of the group had excellent night vision, as Mike prepared to rest someone spoke out from outside the tent
"Excuse me, General"
Mike sighed before he stopped taking off his clothes and put on some pants before he stepped out of the tent and came face to face with Telia that blushed deeply once she saw his naked upper body and kneeled down at once, Mike showed a smile and asked
"What, you didn't see that coming?"
"N-No General, it becomes exhausting to use foresight all the time… It takes quite the toll"
Mike thought for a moment before he asked
"Would it be possible to take shifts so that there's always a person using foresight?"
"That… Not with our current members… I am sorry General"
"Ah... Don't mind it, I take it that it would be possible with greater numbers then?"
"Yes… We would need approximately 72 people to keep a full coverage…"
"So 3 people an hour… Not bad, not bad at all…"
"What do you have in mind General?"
Mike thought for a moment before he asked plainly
"If we had a full coverage we would be able to avoid all sneak and surprise attacks… Now that would be a General's wet dream…"

Mike nodded before the conversation paused for half a minute then Mike asked
"Do you mind if I go to sleep now?"

Telia stood up and walked away with slightly stiff movements, Mike chuckled slightly before he heard Julie's voice from inside the tent
"Mike, Come to bed already~"

Mike walked into the tent and laid down on the pelts that covered the floor before Julie pulled the quilty up over the two of them, they snuggled for a bit before they went to sleep…
"ATTACK!"
Mike's eyes opened with a snap as a voice sounded out over the camp, time slowed down for Mike as he and Julie jumped out of bed and grabbed their clothes before they hurriedly threw them on and stomped out of the tent, the camp wasn't a mess like they expected, instead they found Telia kneeling in front of the tent as she hurridly reported
"We are under attack, they are half a kilometer out, a total of 24 bandits, one level 8, four level 7, the rest is level 6"
Mike nodded as he opened his hand, the knife came flying before he disappeared into the forest, leaving Julie and Telia, Telia looked after Mike and was about to follow his lead when Julie grabbed her arm and asked
"When did Mike tell you to follow him?"
"But---"
"Mike want's to do some morning workout, don't interrupt"
"I understand, Miss Julie"
Julie looked into the forest before she suddenly began counting down
"3, 2, 1…"
*AAAGGGRRRGGGHHH!!!*
"There goes first blood, he probably went after one of the level 7's, no way he would break their will to fight by killing the level 8 at once"

"Well because he wants to build up their expectations before he crushes them, Mike is mean like that"

"They weren't bandits, Telia, they were slavers"
Telia's expression paled before she kneeled down again and spoke
"I apologize for my misinformation General!"
