After the judge took his seat, the proceedings began. Since this was Robin's first appearance in court, he felt a little amount of excitement. Due to the alleged federal crimes done by these two, the jury was present in addition to the judge. The families actually requested a bench of judges for this hearing, but they were turned down.

The SEC's attorney entered the courtroom and made his opening statement before the hearing began. The Mars family was growing more and more restless in the meantime. The courtroom had a thing for punctuality, their daughter was already late, and Evelynn was already running behind schedule.

Evelynn's father had to go outside and make a contact because he had no other choice. Meanwhile, the person of focus had arrived just few seconds before the judge. And David Rockefeller was that person. He initially approached and welcomed the other family heads, but in the end he moved and sat next to Robin.

He couldn't speak aloud because the judge had come and he had to treat the judge with respect.

"Mr. Kashyap, I admire your guts." Rockefeller spoke softly to Robin. Sigret and Myrene who were nearby almost flipped out and killed this guy on the spot but somehow Robin gestured them to stop acting up. They had arrived with a few journalists and were already in the court. The family managed to keep the information about their heirs hidden, but some investigative media snuck it out to get some juicy details.

Additionally, since they were both in view of others, David had little opportunity to hurt Robin. Despite this, David continued to threaten him.

"I wouldn't have waged war against you if I didn't have any guarantee. In reality, Mr. Rockefeller, when I first stepped foot here, I was already anticipating resistance; I just didn't anticipate that it would come in such a hurry." The same murmured tone was used in Robin's response.

David was surprised by Robin's remark. According to Robin's comments, he was aware of them from a very early stage and still showed up to the battle to take on the oligarchs. Did he intend it in that sense? Or was he merely acting?

How could this man know about the families when they have been concealed from view for such a long time and would only occasionally raise their heads in public while doing so in the most modest manner possible? He had been a nobody. David had looked through Robin's records.

Though his online presence had been cut to minimum. His past, including his educational background and living arrangements, wasn't precisely a top-secret one. According to their research, Robin was a normal Eastern child.

In his early years, Robin was quite bright in school and achieved excellent results, but as he got older, his brilliance quickly diminished. He settled into the average range among most individuals, and the competition proved to be too fierce for him. He even had a girlfriend but that turned out to be too toxic for him.

But one day everything appeared to have shifted. He overnight rose to prominence as a key figure in the establishment of Darkstar in the Netherlands. No matter how hard he tried, he was unable to conduct in-depth investigation into the identity of the person or people behind Darkstar. He had sent people to hack into their computer, but they had found nothing and was instead imprisoned simply for engaging in illegal activity.

Robin was a mystery box which kind of punched him always when he had tried opening it.

"Did you know of us from before? You are a nobody in the grand scale of events so why don't you tell us who really sent you. Is it China? Or is North Korea involved?" David pondered his question as he couldn't accept the idea that one haphazard man could suddenly hold such sway and influence. He had read the accounts on the drugs that were going to be tested soon.

There are some things that can only be described by the term "miracle." There must have been some sort of support for Robin from a very strong nation. In truth, the CIA was actively looking for his relationships with other nations, just like he was, but they had turned up nothing.

"Why do you think I have a backer, I wonder. Can't I be the actual head?" Robin enquired.

"Don't flatter yourself kid. You are too young to even be at the same room as me." said David.

"Didn't I just force you to come here and show your face?" Robin questioned, perplexed as to where all of these people's haughtiness originated. They were just on shot away from death! Robin pointed that out, and David tripped over his own words. As a matter of fact, Robin was able to drag him to the court because his own daughter was involved.

"I'll let you go if you just identify the person behind you for us. Everything will be under the bridge and the families will never go after you." David said as he changed the topic.

"Mr. Rockefeller, due to the catastrophe your daughter had caused, the families were just forced to grant us the go-ahead. After what you did to your daughter, you are already in a hot skillet..." said Robin. The more he said the more David's face got flushed. In a fit of rage, he furrowed his forehead and wrinkled his nose. Even his loud respiration was audible to Robin.

David was currently enraged. He was actively restraining himself from punching Robin.

"...Besides are you sure you are very safe?" After a short pause, Robin asked. As if to support his claims. Inside the court, Everlynn's father nearly lost control and rushed toward his wife. The judge appeared irate that someone had just walked in, but he restrained himself from speaking. Knowing that the people he was working with were quite wealthy, he didn't want to offend them.

When he murmured something in his wife's ears, Evelynn's father was trembling. His wife yelled loudly.

"What!?"

Without saying another word, Evelynn's father simply removed his wife from the seat and brought her outside. He said to the court before departing:

"I am sorry judge, our daughter, one of the witness of this case wouldn't be able to come for the trial." The Mars family exited the courtroom after those words were spoken. David was also intrigued and excused himself to leave.

When he emerged out of the room, he noticed the pair on the verge of tears.

"... they said she had been taken to the hospital but I fear..." He could only hear those words from Evelynn's father while the wife was crying her eyes out. She had the appearance of a mother who had lost her kid. David couldn't help but come forward and ask.

"Is everything okay Jerry?"

Evelynn's father appeared upset and resisted answering, but he did state at the end.

"Ambulance called. Evelynn had been into an accident. We are going to the hospital." With those comments, the husband led his wife downstairs while holding her close. David just stood by the door looking at the family. The fact that Evelynn had a mishap didn't astound him. He was numb because the last words of Robin was ringing in his ears at the moment.

"....Besides are you sure you are very safe?"

After a brief period of confusion, David returned inside and reseated himself next to Robin. This time, he appeared to be in control, but there was actually a tempest raging inside of him.

"Did you try to kill Evelynn?" That was a straight query from David. After looking startled, Robin stared stupefied at David. Both his remarks and his expression gave the impression that he didn't really know anything.

"Who is Evelynn?"

"You.." David was furious. Even the witnesses who were against him were unknown to this person. But somehow when David looked at the face of Robin, he felt like he knew something about her. Despite the fact that Robin's expression and response to his words were deserving of an Oscar, he had the impression that Robin was responsible for Evelynn's misfortune due to his years of experience working in a field where politics and deception were prevalent.

Though he heard that it was an accident, a guy who made Lydia, one of the most terrifying agents working under him vanish proved that Robin had access to things even he might not know of. If he had the means, he could murder Evelynn with ease.

It was at this time it dawned on him that Robin wasn't normal and it was high time he treated him like equals or their family might really suffer a loss.

"You have been excellent, Mr. Kashyap. We will see you soon." As he stood up and moved to sit next to the other families, David said.

"Even after giving an Oscar level performance, he is doubting me?" Robin murmured.

"You believe that you are a movie actor?" Sigret remarked that she could easily point out all the mistakes that were made when he gave David such an innocent look in response to his question regarding Evelynn's passing.
