[These flames, it burns…]

Wang Ling could feel the rising temperature. His internal regulator could not keep up, the Holy Qi did not know how to manipulate something it did not create, "So you were, holding back against me earlier, after all!"

With a smile on his face, Wang Ling broke through the flames. His burnt marks, could not heal due to the flames' corroding effects. It hurt, it burns, yet he wanted more. The only way he could improve after a short time was if he fought someone and push him beyond limits.

Overjoyed, Wang Ling pushed through the flames against the pain he had not felt outside of playful banters and experiments. The thrill of a fight now echoed in his heart, and so, he brought out the last of his sword and swung it with impunity.

Phena matched eyes with Wang Ling… and in that instance, where they exchanged gazes the sword reached its destination, but not a single drop of blood was drawn. Wang Ling poured more into the sword and it disintegrated on its way to Phena's glowing neck.

Wang Ling sighed, "You're not an enemy, are you?"

Phena shook her head as she reeled her flames back to where it belonged.

"I was too rushed…" Wang Ling looked up and just sighed, "…I am too on edge at the moment, I apologize."

Phena laughed, "You are the new Ruler of Chaos, the All-Father, you command life, why are you so scared?"

Throwing her a robe, now something from the lower Worlds Wang Ling just scoffed, "I am a Celestial Creature that does not know how to wield my abilities properly. Like a child that wields a stick he picked up on the ground while my enemy has the experience that spans for eons with an army that numbers billions.

"His strength comes from conflict; the more others fight the stronger he grows to become. Now, look at me, I cannot even draw out the Chaos Qi to its fullest potential, my control of space is lacking, my perception is lagging behind, and my reflex is so fast that I barely think when I fight. And to add to salt to this salt, my killing intent is beginning to recede due to this constitution's loving nature and as an added bonus, the Origin General created a weapon that can effectively kill me."

"What!?" Phena's expression was now twisted, "That's impossible… right?"

For all her knowledge and the late-night stories, she heard from her siblings and mother alike, it had been instilled in her mind how indestructible the Wang Ling was.

"Yet my hand was severed. He harnessed the power of the Origin Race he killed, draining them of the Primordial Essence my predecessor used to breathe them to life. Now, what makes them special is threatening my life, Bai Xue's, my daughter's, and everyone else's… and I don't know what he's planning. But even planning will be all for naught if the power he controls can eradicate all life in one swing. The only thing that's keeping him in check should be Bai Xue, and that's not enough." Wang Ling speaks calmly, but the more he spoke the heavier the atmosphere grew to become.

Wang Ling was blind, incapable of seeing the possibilities. Though a part of him enjoyed the challenge, the fact of the matter was that he's not the protector of all. All life hangs in the balance, and behind his usual smile was something Phena could not read.

Phena looked at Wang Ling and then behind her, "From the All-Father's words, we do not have a glimmer of hope if you cannot even hold a candle against the enemy. Then, does that mean if you can control your strength, you can fight back?"

"Possible, what, are you saying you will fight me?" Wang Ling asked, his eyes showed excitement.

Phena just smiled, and without any hesitations move her legs and struck Wang Ling with untold speeds. Wang Ling's eyes glowed, he surveyed her every movement and then, allowed her to past him by a hair's breadth.

"That's not enough." Wang Ling clenched his fist to show how futile such strengths in hope of drawing out more, but, once more, when she and Phena exchanged gazes, he saw had to stop his fist from touching her for she held no intent to fight back — or so was the plan.

This time, however, Phena shifted her position forward. To Wang Ling's surprise, Phena allowed herself to be hit by Wang Ling's fist.

BOOM!

Phena was sent flying and her blood scattered across the darkness, "What are you doing?" Wang Ling cried aloud but she saw her fingers pointed to a direction and following it, he saw a gift. An ocean of killing intent painted the Cosmos crimson.

"You dare… touch my sister?" Lixus' face changed, his hair floated and weaved. His body grew bigger, fur sharper than any blade covered his body, and his claws that call upon the winter frost appeared.

His appearance created a tundra that froze the Cosmic Road. His voice cracked and then, from within, the unending Frost howled. The white mist hardened and transformed into blades of thin ice. The snowflakes sharpened, and then, as Wang Ling cracked a smile, Lixus traveled their distance instantaneously and appeared before Wang Ling with his fist clenched.

Wang Ling could see him, but, he couldn't even cross his arm and block the strike.

BAM!

His face accepted Lixus' fist and was blown towards the two manifestations of elements, and Naor. He had them retreat and then, he clashed with Lixus once more.

[He's not hesitating, his frost is affecting me… I can go all out!]

And so, Wang Ling's laughter turned into a guffaw as he cried out loud, "MORE!"

He summoned everything as he clashed with the Deity of Frost.

And from afar, aboard Cosmic Sailers, was Bai Xue hiding in a dimension he hid everyone from the Abyss. Around her were a few people Wang Ling loved and cared for, and as she looked at the fight, he looked behind her and asked, "Quite the warrior your son turned out to be." She praised as Xiao Fei'er and Wang Shu Qing smiled seeing their boy alive.

"Yes." They both whispered.
