The coldness in Caesars eyes soon disappeared and was replaced by a warm smile, he grabbed her hand and shook it slowly.
"Nice to meet you, I am Mephesto Pheles"
"I am Riza" she gracefully smiled
Caesar let go of her hand and continued drinking wine at the table, after about five or so minutes he turned to his father and said.
"I'm going to go outside for a bit"
"Okay, I will be in here for a while longer then come outside to join you" His father replied quickly before continuing his energetic talk with the king.
Cesar stood up from his seat and made his way through the hall, right as he stepped outside he could not help but admire the beauty of the starry night. The wind blew his hair up and his clothes fluttered in the night.
Caesar starting reminiscing back to his past life… "I really wanted to see his face after he found out I gave away all of my assets" he whispered to himself
"Who are you talking about" A ladies voice came from behind Caesar
Caesar turned around and saw Riza smiling at him, her blue hair fluttered in the wind and the moonlight illuminated her face.
"No one important" Caesar smiled back at her
"I don't know If I believe you, to put melancholy in the eyes of the great marshall of rahvin kingdom it has to be someone very important hehe" Riza giggled
Caesar didn't respond back and started walking down the steps casually, seeing that Caesar was ignoring her Riza's face scrunched and she lifted her right hand.
Wind slowly started to circle around Riza's hand, she put her finger forward and the wind condensed to a single point and shot out from her finger towards Caesar's back at a terrifying speed.
Caesar could feel her killing intent so he had already prepared, he turned around and lifted his right hand up… He froze the water molecules in the air to form an ice shield in front of his body.
"Bang"
The wind and ice clashed with each other and a loud bang echoed throughout the palace…the ice in front of Caesar was cracked however it still stopped her attack.
"I-ice magic??" Riza couldn't help but mutter is disbelief
Caesar didn't want to give her any time to attack so he pushed off the ground towards her, the ground his foot was on indented. Caesar closed the distance between him and Riza almost instantly, before Riza could react Caesar's hand was already close to her neck.
"CLANG"
The sound of metal hitting metal rang out, a sword appeared in front of Caesars nails right before they stabbed into Riza's neck. A man with short blue hair walked out of the darkness.
"Sorry to interrupt lord Mephesto but I can't just let you kill my sister like that"
Caesar looked down on them with his superior height and said "you two are not apart of the church, who sent you and why"
"There is no reason to inform a dead man mister mephesto!" Anthony yelled as he rushed towards Caesar
As anthony rushed towards him Caesar started contemplating "With all the sound we have been making the guards should be here already unless…. They were already killed.."
Thinking to here Caesar eyes grew incredibly cold and his killing intent spewed out. Anthony closed the distance and hacked down with his sword.
"Thud"
Caesar lifted his hand in the trajectory of the sword and opened his hand, once the sword hit his hand he closed it. Both Anthony and Riza expected it to cut his hand off but that was not the case.
The sword was perfectly caught in Caesar's grip, not even a small cut was formed. "It seems my skin has thoroughly been strengthened from the last evolution" Caesar thought to himself as he tightened his grip.
"Crack"
Anthony and Riza looked at the broken sword with disbelief "w-w-we can kill D-Rank monsters h-how are you so strong?" Anthony said stuttering.
Caesar smiled slyly and looked towards him
"There is no reason to inform a dead man"
Caesar grabbed anthony's neck and lifted him up, "I will only ask you one more time, who sent you and why?"
Anthony looked at Caesar with resistance and refused to speak, Caesar didn't want to waste anymore time and directly started squeezing his neck.
"W-wait, I will tell you" Riza called out
Caesar loosened his grip on Anthony's neck and looked towards Riza… Riza gulped down her saliva in fear as she peered into those piercing red eyes.
"W-we are mere rank-D assassins from the assassins guild, our buyers are anonymous but someone paid a decent price for your head"
"When did they purchase you"
"Around 3 weeks ago" She replied immediately.
"Thud"
Caesar let go of anthony's neck and started stroking his chin in contemplation. "That should be around time I was ordered to exterminate the elves, was it the second prince or?"
"Gasp"
Anthony started gasping for breath while Riza sighed in relief, right after Caesar was done contemplating he looked at the two.
"Ahem" he cleared his throat he walked towards Riza, he put his finger on her neck and trailed it to her chin and forced her to look at him dead in the eyes.
"You have two choices, 1. You start working for me behind the back of the assassins guild or 2. You both die"
Riza started shaking in fear "I-if you betray the assassins guild they will send higher ranking assassins to kill us and you"
Caesar smiled slyly at her remarks "why would you need to betray the assassins guild, simply kill your contractor and tell the guild you finished your job. Although they could find out im alive without a complaint from the contractor why would they care.
"We don't know who our 'contractor' even is" Riza replied flustered
"I have a good idea who it is" Caesar leaned closer in her ear and whispered a name… Riza's face flashed with surprise before she nodded and agreed.
"Okay, we choose option one. I just hope you are correct that is the contractor"
"I promise you" Caesar smiled back
Riza's face carried a tint of red for a split second that turned to normal, she picked up her brother that was on the ground and turned back towards Caesar "We will complete the job tomorrow night"
"That sounds good to me" Caesar smiled and walked off, Riza also walked off in the opposite direction, Caesar soon made it to where the Carriage was parked and walked inside. He enjoyed the night sky outside of the carriage window and thought to himself "Those two should pose to be useful later"
After about 10 minutes of waiting Caesar could hear steps outside the carriage and his father Crowley enter. His father looked at him with an apologetic gaze and said.
"I'm sorry for taking so long, the king had quite a few matters we wanted to speak with me about"
"No worries father, i was entertained by some guests while you were away"
"Guests? Who?"
"No one in particular" Caesar chuckled and replied
"Ok…?" Crowley responded
The carriage started moving through the night back towards his manor, the ride was quiet and peaceful on the way back. The carriage soon arrived at the manor and parked outside, Caesar stepped out of the carriage and walked to the door.
"Creak"
Caesar opened the door and stepped inside, the manor was quiet… Caesar walked upstairs to his room and undressed and put on his sleepwear. After getting into bed Caesar sighed and thought about his future business.
"This worlds weapons are quite primitive, perhaps I could create a weapons business selling things such as catapults or trebuchets" Caesar soon fell asleep thinking such thoughts.
"Uncle, uncle wake up it's morning time!"
Caesar barely opened his eyes before he felt someone start to jump on him in bed, Caesar sat up and grabbed the little girl that was jumping on him and smiled.
"It's not polite to wake someone up so roughly Elizabeth"
"Hehe, but it is the fastest way" she replied with a smile
Caesar put little Elizabeth on the ground beside the bed and stretched his limbs, he lazily got up and put a casual outfit on before he stepped outside of his room.
While walking down the halls Sebastian soon came into view, after seeing Caesar Sebastian walked a little faster and called out to him.
"It's surprising to see you up so early young master, I was just about to call you for breakfast. Your father is already waiting for you"
"You can thank Elizabeth for that" Caesar said as he massaged his temples with his index finger.
Elizabeth was walking right beside Caesar smiling widely, she said "yeah it's thanks to me haha" Caesar walked with Sebastian and Elizabeth to the dinner table. Crowley was already waiting for them at the dinner table. On the table was a large variety of meats and soups.
Crowley smiled warmly seeing Caesar and the rest arrive… "come sit, let's enjoy breakfast together"
Caesar and the rest enjoyed the breakfast layed on the table, Caesar turned towards his father and said.
"Father I want to start my own business"
Crowley looked at him surprised for a second than said
"Business? If you want to start a business you are going to need a marketing license"
"Can you get me one?"
"Of course, how could a duke not get access to a marketing license. However son I have two conditions"
"Let's hear them" Caesar said straight away
"1. You need to tell me what are you going to sell and 2. I want you to find a wife within the next 5 years"
"The first one is easy, I am going to sell weapons. As for the second one. Only time can tell" Caesar said slowly
Crowley smiled "That will do for now, ok I can get you a licence in about a week"
"Thank you father" Caesar started thinking about the future path his business will need to take to gain fame.
