"Her forehead is burning…" Scarlet's answered worriedly. "Should we give her some water?"

"No… It's okay. She said we can't disturb her else she will fail. Let's just wait for her to finish. She doesn't have much left. It seems to be the most important time for her," Wuxing explained but still asked Devil Face just to be sure.

'She should be fine, don't worry,' Devil Face assured. "If her body turns hot that means her spirit is adapting her body to accept new ability. If it's only her forehead that is burning, that means her ability mainly uses her brain to function. Those are the most dangerous but also the rarest. We are quite lucky to have her on our team.'

Taking the opportunity, he added, 'By the way, the guy from before already left my radius, it seems he just wanted to lose that bald guy by using us.'

Wuxing's eyes turned cold for a second only to turn back to normal a second later. He hated people like that but he knew it was probably necessary for his survival. Naturally, that didn't mean he would let him off as that action put all three of them in danger.

'It's okay, I will get my revenge on him when we reach the selection camp,' Wuxing informed and finally healed himself fully, moving his hands to the front to clean himself.

He didn't expect that Scarlet would suddenly exclaim, seeing his bloody hands.

"Ah! You are bleeding—" Wuxing quickly reached out with his clean hand and shushed her, cutting her off, "Shh… you will disturb Dongmei…"

"But your hand…" Scarlet protested upset. He could see the worry in her eyes.

"Scarlet, I'm alright. it's not my blood," Wuxing lied skillfully and showed her both of his hands which were still covered by blood but no wound could be seen. "See? No injuries."

He didn't want her to bother unnecessarily but he caused Scarlet to pout instead.

"Dummy, you think I'm an idiot?" Scarlet scolded quietly as she grabbed his hand and started cleaning it up for him with water. "I'm not blind. I could see your battle even though I attended Dongmei. I care for you more than her…"

Once she was done, she began drying it up with her sleeve, finger by finger. It wasn't exactly needed so Wuxing tried to pull his hand away, "It's enough. It's going to be dry soon anyway."

Unfortunately, that wasn't that easy.

"No. Let me finish," Scarlet rejected firmly, glaring at him and suddenly pulled on his hand, placing it on her chest. "Can you feel my heartbeat? It only started beating so fast when I saw you got injured…"

She pressed his hand hard against her left breast as if she wanted him to grab it firmly. He wanted to tell her it wasn't how you sense your heartbeat when he actually could feel it, even though the fabric of their jackets.

Ba-dum! Ba-dum! Ba-dum!

Her heart banged rhythmically in quick succession and it didn't seem to slow down at all.

"Hey, hey, calm down…" Wuxing whispered as he caressed her cheek but Scarlet bit her lip and unzipped her jacket. The next thing he knew, she pushed his hand inside it and repeated the process, forcing him to embrace her breast once again, this time directly on top of her sports bra.

"Can you feel it now? When you touched me, it started to beat even faster..." Scarlet confessed, looking with expectations at Wuxing's face but he couldn't fulfill her wishes.

"Scarlet," he called out her name firmly and pulled his hand away. "It's not time to fool around."

He didn't give her any more attention and focused on Dongmei instead. He could push Scarlet away from the start instead of letting her lead to such a situation.

"I'm sorry… I'm just honest," Scarlet apologized as she didn't stop to gaze at his face from the side and passed him the chocolate she partially ate before. "Eat, you used too much energy."

When he turned back to her, Wuxing saw her smiling gently, not bothered by his soft rejection which made him feel bad. She was just too kind of a girl yet he pulled her into the brutal part of the world.

"It's actually me who should be sorry. This place will only continue to get worse and more challenging. You could live a happy life yet now it will be filled with death," Wuxing explained quietly but Scarlet's expression didn't change.

She fixed the strain of blonde hair that fell on her eye and placed it behind her ear only to confess what she felt. "I'm fine with that. I am happy to follow wherever you go because I like you."

She didn't wait for his response but instead unwrapped her chocolate and put it in front of his face. "Say ahh~"

He couldn't help but take a big bite as Scarlet put the chocolate inside his mouth but still didn't leave the conversation as it is. "Scarlet, you know I have Dongmei. I love her and I'm not going to have similar feelings to anyone as much as I do for her," Wuxing described, already prepared for her to feel down yet she placed the chocolate in his hand with a smile.

"It's okay. As long as you let me stay by your side, I will be happy. My life was in a bad place but since I met you, everything changed. My brother can have a bright future now and I got to experience so many new things. I can't be more thankful to you," Scarlet replied honestly before glancing at the body next to them and shivered. "Though, I will never like dead bodies…"

Wuxing followed her gaze and realized the body of the bald man was still there. "Oh, I forgot," Wuxing slapped his forehead and walked up to the man to drag him away from the girls. His blood would probably bring them troubles as mutated beasts seemed to be common in this Island. He didn't know how far they could smell him.

After he left, Scarlet looked at Dongmei and muttered quietly, "You are lucky to have him… Don't worry, I won't steal him away… Just let me be around him and I will be satisfied..."

She didn't know that the whole time the two were talking, Dongmei was actually listening to their conversation. Her brain was hyperactive, undergoing a special mutation that improved her capabilities to its limits. Dongmei was only temporarily immobilized but it didn't mean her senses were turned off.

'Ah, to think Scarlet also likes my man. It's starting to get complicated,' Dongmei lamented to herself, knowing the number was increasing fast. She wasn't too worried about Scarlet as Dongmei knew she was telling the truth. Scarlet was too innocent to fight with her over a man but Anna was different.

'Maybe I should keep him away from Anna?' Dongmei contemplated, already knowing Anna's feelings for Wuxing.

'You will worry about that later.' Layla stopped her thoughts and asked, 'Are you ready for the last step? We are almost done.'

'Mhmm, do it. I want to see everything,' Dongmei replied firmly.

'Your wish is my command,'

Just as Layla said her last word, Dongmei's brain suddenly exploded with pain and her mind felt as if broken to thousands of small pieces.

"Ahh!" Dongmei screamed horribly, causing Scarlet to turn pale and catch Dongmei's hands in worry. "Dongmei! Hang on!"

Wuxing immediately dropped the body and rushed towards them as soon as he could.

Dongmei could see him. Without opening her eyes, each piece of her mind began leaving her head and spread in their surroundings, visualizing the view for her. She felt as if her mind turned into thousands of small drones, each giving her a different scenery that later connected into one giant map inside her head. The further they spread, the bigger the map.

She could see everything.

Small ants that carried food to their anthill or a bird that just flew by, curiously glancing at them with its eyes.

Everything was beautifully visualized for her as if she was right next to it.

'Now try to call back your mind. Don't spread them too far for the first time,' Layla advised, feeling Dongmei's curiosity and she followed it, thinking of returning. As if each piece of mind was connected, they map stated shrinking back before forming into one whole piece back in her head.

'Amazing…' Dongmei muttered, finding it too good to be true.

'Well done Dongmei, you evolved successfully. Your new ability, I called it Ultimate Vision.'
