Chapter 235: 235 - Fixing The Dam

Yue drove close by to the small door in the dam's side and parked their jeep right before it. There was no premise or any gate protecting this place. Since the entrance was directly attached to the dam things were bound to get dangerous.
He quickly got down from the driver seat and went to open the doorknob. The door flung open on its own by the strong gust of wind beating against the side walls.
The wooden door looked very flimsy and brittle. It had fresh new cut and chops on it like something was trying to chop its way in.
Yue frowned deeply. 'This place is the least secure location.... I'm not sure we can even stay here the night.'
With the sword in one hand and the torchlight in another, he entered the place vigilantly. To his back, the fake mechanic hid, Fan Xui was right beside him protecting his sides. Tian was to the rear watching both their backs.
She kicked the door close and used a random piece of metal and soldered the door to the door frame. "This won't hold for long. Let's find something to hold the door down first,"
"No before that we need to check the premise.'
They were lucky in the treatment facility. There were no zombies thanks to the water zombie but here he could feel it. The jittering sounds.. the growls... he could hear it all.
"Growl...." numerous zombies rushed out from the dark hiding spots.
Their speed was unmatched by the previous ones.
Yue sliced the ones that git to close. Fan Xui zapped the ones which were close together. Tian was mainly using only her bullets. Her powers were too strong. There was a high possibility that her flames might burn the control room.
So he had warned her to use it with caution.
Three male zombies in blue overalls charged at him.
Yue stepped forward a little and fought with them. One of them was the hardest to deal with. A speed ability zombie. Every time he swung his sword at him. It dodged and tried to take a bite off his hands and legs.
Tian shot at it when it got super close.
"Fan, zap it!"
"I'm trying, I'm trying!" even when Fan Xui attacked it, he was not able to land a direct blow. Like a slippery fish, it kept dashing here and there but it always returned close to them to take a bite.
Things were getting dangerous here.
If this zombie continued escaping their attacks it will turn into a long-term fight. They won't be able to keep up the stamina to deal with it/ biting his lips Yue dashed forward.
"Yue, what are you doing? Stay together!"
"I'm the bait. I'll slow it down. Zap it," he shouted, running around in circles. The zombie ran ahead of him, stopping in his way.
its grabby hands gripped his hand tightly. Yue swiftly covered that part with the silvery metal thing.
Tegh speed zombie bit into his wrist.
Yue felt a small sharp pain. Flustered, he peered up at his sister and lover.
"now!!"
A small ball of electricity hit the zombie right on its head. Instantly it got charred black.
Yue pushed the zombie off and peered at his wrist. The metal was still in place but beneath it, there was a small bruise forming.
'Fuck, that was close...' he picked up the torch he dropped to the ground.
"There, another door ahead." Tian shouted from the back.
Yue sliced off the zombies coming towards him while he shone the light that way. It was an iron door. The doors looked sturdy enough. He opened it hurriedly.
It was slightly rusted but with a little bit of strength it opened up.
Vigilantly he walked into the place and shone the light around. "clear! Come in fast!"
Tian, Fan Xui, and the mechanic ran in. Right after they jumped in Yue closed the door and locked it in place.
Outside, the zombies started to bang on it loudly.
"This door will hold right?" Tian worriedly looked at him.
"I hope so." Yue walked around the place. There were a lot of cupboards with lots of buttons and levers and small blinking lights. "Is this the control room?" he glanced at the repairman.
He seemed anxious as he glanced around.
"hey? you searching for someone? Your brother? was he here?"
"yes..." the man hesitantly came to the front of the team and walked around. "this is the control room. Those things control the flood gate.... it's purposefully closed..... it's closed manually," his eyes started to shimmer happily. "He's alive! Garius! Garius!" he shouted suddenly.
Yue ran to him and cupped his mouth close. "'shh, do you have a death wish?"
"B-brother.... is that.. oh my god..." a figure ran out of the shadows.
Yue vigilantly held a sword towards him. "Stop right there." he pointed his torch at his face. That man's eyes were clear, and he did not have any visible wounds on him. He did look a lot think though.
"Brother..."
"Garius," the fake machine rushed past him and hugged his brother tightly. "I knew. I knew you would have survived.. I knew it.."
Their happy sobs filled the entire room with a slightly nostalgic feeling.
Yue silently stood by the side waiting for them both to separate. "Garius right? these flood gates, did you close them?"
The man looked quite guilty when asked that. "i-I did. I knew that there will be a settlement in the outskirts. If I cut the power they might come to rescue me....." he glanced at the ground.
Yue sighed. "Can you start everything up? Including the hydro generators,"
"Yea, I can. Please take me with you. I'm so hungry," he cried hugging his thin stomach.
"We'll take you. So please set everything right,"
"I'll do it. It will only take an evening," the man excitedly said but suddenly he collapsed to the ground hugging his stomach. "Is.. is there any food.... I don't wish to impose but..."
Yue gave him three granola bars. "Eat this first, your stomach would not handle oily meals. I'll come along with you. Just instruct me on what to do,"
"Gladly,"
That evening Yue did everything this Garius instructed him to. The flood gates were fixed and.. The hydroelectric generators were started up.
Lights lit up the whole place.
Yue excitedly glanced towards Fan and Tian. "We got our water supply back.. wait can we connect the power supply to the outskirt town?"
"The generators only supply to the city, if I work on it a bit I can supply for the town as well," Garius excitedly whispered.
"do it! We'll leave once it's done,"
