Of course, Zong Yan’s dream of going to Tsinghua couldn’t be dispelled by a few words from the instructor at Beijing University.

In fact, he’d already thought about which major and department he wanted to apply for, and when it came to taking action his ability level was maxed out. He was basically just waiting to go home to fill out his application.

But right now his evil boyfriend seemed to be up to something. After saying “Go to Tsinghua”, a swarm of undulating shadows vanished into the dappled curves of the young man’s white skin, and each tendril drove its target to the supreme height of bliss. The black-haired young man broke into gasps and moans.

In a loose bathrobe and damp black hair, the young man’s body leaned against the gray-haired evil god. The evil god lightly inhaled the scent of the young man’s hair. His eyes were obscure and unpredictable, and the strands of his long gray hair adhered to his lover’s slender body.

The room was dimly lit, and heavy curtains blocked the moonlight. The Lord of the Gate moved his thoughts, and the hotel suite plunged into a deep, impenetrable darkness.

Zong Yan was still in human form. His night vision was almost non-existent, and he was totally blind.

Plunged into total darkness, completely stripped of sight, his sense of touch was heightened to the maximum.

Zong Yan was fully dressed, and his legs were tucked together in an ordinary reclining posture. The Lord of the Gate had one arm around his waist while the other encircled his lover’s body.

If someone were to glance at them, they wouldn’t have seen anything amiss. They might have thought the young couple were simply hugging each other, a warm and tender scene.

But in the dark places that weren’t visible to human eyes, countless shadows were at work, making the corners of the young man’s eyes flush a deadly scarlet as he climbed to the apex of pleasure.

The black-haired young man couldn’t see. All he could do was tighten his arms around the neck of the Lord of the Gate, like a drowning man clutching the last piece of driftwood.

His hand dangled helplessly to the side until it was gathered in the palm of the evil god, who delicately played with his fingers.

Yog leaned over and kissed the young man’s forehead, licking away the beads of sweat.

“Mmm… Ah… What are you doing?!”

Just as Zong Yan was biting his lower lip at the brink of endurance, the Lord of the Gate wickedly linked his mental tentacles to the human’s mind, amplifying the ecstasy spreading through the human’s spinal cord and frontal cortex countless times.

In a flash, sensation burst out like a primordial explosion, overloading Zong Yan’s mind. All his thoughts vanished, leaving nothing but blank rapture. Everything else had been drained away under the evil god’s manipulation.

Of course, it was impossible for a human to withstand such intense stimulation. If this happened to any other person, sadly, they could only be thrown into a mental hospital.

This included mimetic humans like Zong Yan.

Therefore, a moment later, the young man’s hair began to grow. Short black hair became long dark brown hair which spread out behind him.

In his evil god form, Zong Yan’s temperament changed as well. Instead of his usual quiet, calm personality, he became a bit cute and lazy. Although he didn’t move or take action, his body now possessed the magnetic, mesmerizing aura of a higher power.

As soon as he transformed into an evil god, the bright red flush on his face receded slightly, and he glanced at the Lord of the Gate with a somewhat cross expression.

“Good evening, My Little Majesty.”

The Lord of the Gate’s golden eyes were filled with laughter, but his actions didn’t stop at all, actually becoming more and more excessive now that his partner was the Lord of the Universe.

On the wall, the ticking clock had already fallen silent.

Without Yog-Sothoth’s permission, time didn’t dare move forward.

It was an endless night.

After making the decision to go to Tsinghua and completing the movie shoot, Zong Yan returned home to fill out his application and incidentally took care of a few other things.

First, he swept his family member’s tomb, then he took a huge sum of money kindly provided by the Lord of the Gate and donated it. The funds were invested in the neighborhood of the tube building in Jiangzhou. He set up a charitable foundation and improved the infrastructure nearby.

Zong Yan also received his pay for making the movie. He donated all of it to Project Hope. The rest of the money was from the Lord of the Gate, collected from frozen accounts and stolen funds in banks all over the world.

Of course, if Zong Yan really wanted to, he could create money out of thin air, but it would be troublesome if this led to the collapse of the world’s financial system. When they had nothing else to do, Zong Yan dragged Yog around the globe to buy lottery tickets. In his opinion, it was a good way to make use of omniscience.

After he returned to Jiangzhou, he also made a trip to the Dragon Group.

Because Zong Yan had seen almost all the top leaders of the R’lyeh sect, and he also had the Lord of the Gate to help him cheat, Zong Yan made a cameo appearance as an undercover agent, trying to ferret out all the enemy agents hiding in MU.

Somewhat to his embarrassment, Zong Yan discovered there were far more infiltrators in Miskatonic University than he could have imagined.

They didn’t all belong to the R’lyeh sect. There were members of the Order of Feasters, the Order of the Bloated Woman, the Church of the Black Goat, a secret underground sect that actually worshipped Yog-Sothoth, etc., etc. The cultists included students as well as professors, and it could honestly be said that a hundred flowers were in bloom.

Zong Yan: “…”

He really had too much faith in MU. It was clearly a university that trained excellent investigators as well as cultists. Why did he have to face such a dismal truth?

So he swept it under the rug.

Besides, Zong Yan had thrown R’lyeh into the sea of the Dreamlands, and there it remained. If R’lyeh was moved back to Earth, the entire human race would suffer, so the Lord of the Dreamlands didn’t make any changes. He’d previously told the subordinate evil gods of the Dreamlands to find a way to get along with the mighty king Cthulhu and develop him into an upstanding citizen of the Dreamlands.

When Zong Yan visited the Dragon Group, he didn’t manage to meet He Yuan or Si Yan.

Strange.

Zong Yan scratched his head.

He had a good relationship with both of them. The day before the college entrance exam, Si Yan and He Yuan drove to school to cheer him on. Si Yan wore a stink face the entire time, but he specially invited Zong Yan to dinner to raise his spirits.

Zong Yan stopped to ask a member of the Dragon Group, who seemed a bit nervous. “Your Excellency.”

The name of the tenth Monarch had the force of a thunderclap in the occult world. Everyone knew of his deeds, including stories about how he punched Elder Gods and stomped on Great Old Ones.

“Where did Officer Si and Officer He go?”

“Oh, they, ah,” the member stammered. “Team 7 was sent on a mission to the Amazon rainforest to track down a relic. Supposedly it’s located in an ancient ruined temple.”

“So that’s it.”

Zong Yan nodded and didn’t ask more questions.

He hadn’t seen them for a month, and they’d already gone on a mission.

Well, the Dragon Group was always busy. People sometimes disappeared for a year or more.

Many of the Dragon Group’s plans and operations were confidential. Although Zong Yan was the tenth Monarch, he hadn’t graduated from MU yet. He couldn’t formally join until after graduation. In order to avoid causing trouble, he didn’t pry into it.

While he was there, he borrowed one of the Dragon Group’s computers and filled in his official selection form to apply for the Architecture Department at Tsinghua University. Then he returned home.

It was now early July. Tsinghua started in mid-August, and he had to participate in military training.

Zong Yan did some mental arithmetic and decided that if the expedition to ancient Egypt went well, he’d make it back in time.

Lately there was news from Britain indicating the dust was about to settle. He hadn’t heard anything from Young Prince Edward until just recently, when he finally announced to their group of three that he was one step away from victory.

Edward probably didn’t watch much anime. The worst thing you could do when victory was “one step away” was say so. You were almost guaranteed to activate a flag.

Zong Yan was so worried that he asked Yog if Edward would be backstabbed in the future. Fortunately the answer put his mind at ease.

If things went well for Edward, the coronation of the new British king would happen in mid-August.

But this kind of thing had diplomatic repercussions. Zong Yan thought about it for a moment, and decided that if he were invited to attend the coronation, he might be able to ask for leave from military training.

Things had changed so much. They used to hang out as friends, but now Edward was about to become the ruler of a country. It felt like something from a dream.

With so many things lined up, Zong Yan’s calendar was full. He’d become a busy bee.

Of course, if he ran out of time there was nothing to worry about. Just ask the Lord of the Gate to backtrack a bit.

Besides, all the members of the ancient Egypt exploration team were evil gods, and they were exploring the tomb of one of the team members. What could be easier?

Zong Yan discussed it with Yog and decided that when the expedition to ancient Egypt ended, the Lord of the Gate would take him on a tour of the universe to have some fun.

Although Zong Yan had become the Lord of the Universe, it turned out that Azathoth was an empty shell. After Zong Yan burrowed inside, he obtained nothing but power. There were no memories to inherit.

Evil gods respected strength. They didn’t care who Azathoth was, they only cared if he was as powerful as before. As long as the Lord of the Universe was still the Lord of the Universe, they didn’t dare do anything.

As it happened, Zong Yan had a lot of curiosity about the universe, and Yog was happy to be his guide.

There were countless planets throughout the galaxies, and many of the star systems were suitable for tourists.

But before that happened, the ancient Egypt exploration project swung into action.

After Zong Yan’s high-profile official announcement of his relationship with the Lord of the Gate in front of a crowd of Outer Gods, the entire universe knew there was something unusual going on between these two.

The other Outer Gods found the idea of a relationship almost impossible to understand.

For example, the Supreme Mother Goddess, Shub-Niggurath, was recognized as the evil god with the largest number of mates. Almost the entire pantheon of evil gods was descended from him. But he was cold and ruthless. Aside from the actual process of reproduction, he didn’t get involved with his partners in any way.

In the entire circle of evil gods, the Lord of the Universe and the Lord of the Gate were the only ones to announce such a close relationship. The other evil gods had never experienced such a thing. For a while they were filled with doubts. After all, to evil gods, kinship was meaningless. The only relationship they recognized was “enemies”.

Shub and Nyarla’s faces were astonished when they saw Zong Yan and the Lord of the Gate walking hand in hand.

#My father and my brother are together#

#When did the Father God get kidnapped by this guy#

#I never thought the Father God would actually…#

To add spice to the family drama, in terms of generation, Shub and Nyarla were now one level lower than Yog.

Nyarlathotep claimed to be the most fanatical and devout follower of His Majesty Azathoth. How could he put up with this?

“Let’s go.”

Yog gave them a disingenuous smile, somewhat contradicted by the malicious gleam of pleasure in his eyes.

The Lord of the Gate couldn’t have been in a better mood. Not only was he able to see Nyarla and Shub totally defeated, he could also claim sovereignty in front of them. What wasn’t there to like?

The author has something to say:

I’m such a sweet, sweet crow with newly evolved emotional scenes (screaming)

TL Notes:

Project Hope – 希望工程 – A Chinese public service project to bring schools to poverty-stricken rural areas of China, to help children whose families are too poor to afford elementary school education (Wikipedia) Adding: In my opinion, rigging the lottery (which is funded by low income people) is kind of a dirtbag move. Sorry YanYan, I think it would be more ethical to create the money out of thin air

a hundred flowers were in bloom – 百花齐放 – All flowers bloom together; Flowers of every kind are in bloom – A metaphor for the free development of various forms and styles of art

swept it under the rug – 打消 – give up, dispel, put to rest, dismiss

activate a flag – The word ‘flag’ was in English – This is a term originally from games, specifically visual novels. When a flag is activated, it triggers a specific condition that might impact the storyline

busy bee – 大忙人 – busy bee/person

one generation lower – To explain this a little more, in Chinese culture if your uncle gets married, his spouse is now your elder and one generation senior to you. Now that Yog is Zong Yan’s significant other, he’s the  “elder” of Nyarla and Shub
