In the garden behind the house, Ahadi and his great aunt were sitting together.

"We already know that he's going to Achebe, the Wolf that's following him confirmed as much, I think Novak was the one that sent him or at the very least has something to gain"

Listening to Ahadi's thoughts she smiled.

"The wolf hasn't been lying dormant long enough for them to forget who we are but there are always people who are brave enough to test the sharpness of our teeth"

"Mhmm"

For a moment her face turned slightly more serious.

"I get the feeling that he's hiding something so on the journey, keep an eye on him. I never asked who you wanted to send"

Ahadi didn't immediately respond he thought for a moment.

"I was thinking of sending one of the watchers, they could follow him close but without making contact unless necessary, observed him close to see if he's really hiding anything?"

Still smiling she shook her head.

"Nala, she's the future Alpha yet she's only ever left the pack three times and none have been on her own, she needs more experience"

Ahadi's face went completely serious when he heard that.

"No, absolutely not. I won't send my daughter with someone I don't even know, if they were on the same level possible but they aren't, besides you know the meeting with the pride is coming up she can't leave now"

When she heard that she spat on the ground and her face warped in anger.

"Tsk to this day I don't know why you agreed to that! To marry her off to that buffoon, that's just going against nature Lion and a Wolf, such hideous children"

Ahadi could only smile wryly, the story had already been told hundreds of times and it wasn't his decision, this was something that the wolf king had agreed to way back then, no one in the pack even remembered it until the Lions came knocking.

"Tsk, cancel it all the same, if they want to marry someone from our bloodline send Azan, the mother knows all he does is shit and sleep"

Ahadi could do nothing but take a deep breath and try to explain, for someone who was supposed to be the wisest in the pack she was nothing more than a headstrong child.

"Aunty they aren't like us, for the empyrean wolves you are our strongest protector, it's not the same for them they don't send away their strong to train, us going up against them would be foolish we'd definitely take heavy losses"

With no other choice, she relented with a sigh.

"Do it your way, send a watcher, when you leave send Nala to see me"

With a now, Ahadi left the garden.

...

".....that's basically how each character should be written, focus on that for now and we'll pick up again some other time"

With that Darius vanish without waiting for a response.

Getting up off the ground Azreal did feel like going to sleep and the lights in the city were still bright, as he was leaving the compound he looked up at the room but the lights were off so he continued walking to the city.

"Azreal! Azreal!"

He decided to walk on one of the busier streets to find something to entertain him or something and the moment he entered the street he heard his name being called.

Wooossh!

Before he could even look around a huge glass jug flew in front of him smashing on the wall.

"Over here!"

Looking over where the jug came from he saw a flushed Azan waving to him with a huge mug, he was in an opened floor bar.

Without anything better to do Azreal walked over to him.

"Come! Come! Sit! Guys this is Azreal!"

When Azan said that the surrounding wolves all raised their mugs and cheered.

"Barkeep! Get my friend here a round! So how are you liking my home so far?"

Feeling the happy atmosphere Azreal couldn't help smiling.

"It's good so far"

Before Azan could respond to Azreal the barkeep came and knocked a mug of liquor in front of Azreal, when the people in the bar heard the knocking of the mug and the table they cheered.

"Here Here!"

"Drink up my friend!"

Slowly moving the cup to his head Azreal drank a little bit, the strong alcohol burned his throat causing him to cough and everyone else to laugh.

"Drink up! The more you drink the less it burns! You'll feel like a fairy floating around feel from everything! Hahaha!"

Maybe it was the infectious atmosphere or peer pressure but Azreal really did down the entire mug in a few gulps and he felt like his face was on fire, his eyes watered a bit.

Without any other choice he opened his mouth and started breathing heavily hoping to help the heat escape.

"We can't have any empty cups! Barkeep!"

And so the cycle began whenever there was an empty cup it would immediately be filled and the chance to babysit a drink was never given.

The sky at it darkest right now so dawn wasn't far behind, so Azreal and Azan left using each other for support.
