Outside the mansion, Altair had run a few laps already. She felt a great sense of release at finally being able to run around outside again. Even though the weather was awful, Altair didn't mind it at all. She was just happy to be able to run under the open sky again.

Her room in the mansion was overly gaudy in her opinion. The rules she had to abide by while studying and listening to lectures were overly stifling. She didn't like all the requirements to keep her posture a certain way, the 'correct' way to sit, the proper way to drink and eat. There were even rules for when she would be allowed to talk in a conversation. It was all just trash to her and she had a hard time taking it.

Now that she had a temporary break from it all where she could just spend her pent-up energy, she felt at ease. It was far more satisfying than the fight she had with Joshua and his friends. It was like a return to form for her. She used to exercise harder than she was doing now every day there wasn't a battle. She could already tell the differences between then and now as well as she had to slow her pace a lot in order to keep going.

She didn't want to end it so soon. She wanted to take her time to savor the wind through her hair and the open skies above. Whenever the wind would blow the breeze felt great on her overheated body.

After finishing her fourth lap, she felt the first drops of rain came down. This caused her to slow her pace a little when she reached the first second corner around the mansion. It had been a long while since she felt the rain coming down on her. Ever since she came to this mansion she was bathing inside in bathtubs, as she did in her old world, so she felt something was missing when she hadn't experienced rain pouring down upon her. It just wasn't the same feeling.

A smile played across her face as she started to run again. She felt slightly energized from the rain hitting her while she ran. It was like there was a strange energy in the air that seeped into her body and revived her. Her tired arms and legs seemed to recover to full power and her body felt lighter than air. She unconsciously ran harder and faster through the rain than she was doing before. Yet she wasn't tired at all despite pushing herself harder. She wasn't even breathing hard. Her breathe was calm and unhurried.

She actually felt like she wasn't running fast enough.

At this thought, Altair's brows knit together and she slowed to a stop in the middle of her lap to look up at the sky as the rain started to come down in buckets. She felt as if she was burning Mana to reinforce her entire body in every way she knew how. Yet, she wasn't doing that right now. It had been so long since she felt this feeling that she almost forgot how it felt. She felt as if she was greeting an old friend that she had not seen in a long time.

'Ah, it has been so long. Just why do I feel this way, I wonder?'

She extended her arms out and felt the rain pattering all over her body, causing her clothes and hair to cling to her. She didn't care though. She had slept out in the rain many times before so it didn't bother her in the least.

She took a deep breath and spun a few times in the rain, noticing that her body was slowly heating up more than it had when she was running. This caused her brow to furrow slightly as the thought of a fever came to her mind. She moved to wipe the hair out of her face and stopped mid-movement of her hand. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw that her hair had returned to its silver sheen that she used to have.

The sight of it caused her heart to jump into her throat.

Since her hair had returned to normal it was safe to assume that her eyes did as well. Still, Altair didn't want to believe that. She looked at her arms and another shock ran through her as her skin was also faultless again. It had even whitened a bit.

'Why now?'

She wasn't ready for this yet. She didn't have access to her Mana to protect herself. She had no way of knowing how the Humans here would react to such a sudden change in her appearance. She didn't even know what caused it in the first place.

Her mind raced as she tried to figure out the reason.

'What's different today from all the other days? …I did use a bunch of Mana to deal with a few brats but I don't think that's it. If not that then,' Altair gazed at the sky, 'The rain? But why?'

Her eyes narrowed and she returned her gaze to the ground. 'I shall assume that for now. I need to hide right now until I can figure out what to do.'

She looked over at the mansion to see if anyone was looking outside. Seeing no one looking or even around the windows in her view she dashed over next to the mansion itself. The best place to hide out of view of the windows would be next to the mansion.

She arrived quickly and leaned against the mansion, out of most of the rain for the moment. It was still coming down and the occasional breeze blew it onto her but she was out of most of it.

She heaved a slight sigh of relief. Immediately after she felt that her body was getting a bit too hot for what she was used to.

'Did I really get sick this fast?'

She held up her hands before her as she stopped spinning and clenched her fists to test her strength. If she was really coming down with a fever than her muscles should start to feel weak and unresponsive. However, contrary to how hot she was feeling, she felt perfectly fine and full of energy. She just felt like she was getting hotter is all.

The cold rain hitting her did little to dampen the heat rising within her body. In fact, it felt like everywhere the rain hit it seemed to actually make her feel hotter. This caused Altair to frown in confusion.

'Is the rain here bad for me or something?'

She turned her attention to the sky again, however she immediately felt like thousands of ants were crawling all over her body. The tingling sensation caused her attention to shook back down to her body as she started to wipe her arms with her hands instinctively. The feeling only grew amplified with her own touch though.

She pushed herself off the wall of the mansion and looked over her body. The only thing there was the rain and it caused herself to start to worry that the rain was doing something horrible to her. She turned to start walking along the wall of the mansion.

'I can't stay out here. I have to get inside somehow and dry off. Hopefully, everything will-'

Altair's mind blanked as she felt a shiver of pleasure course through her body like a bolt of lightning. This shiver caused her to misstep and tumble onto the ground. Altair was a seasoned war veteran, so she had the reflexes to catch herself before hitting the ground. However, as she caught herself, another shiver of pleasure ran through her, causing her arms to buckle under her weight and she fell face first onto the ground.

She panicked under this strange feeling she had never felt before.

Altair immediately attempted to push herself up. She didn't understand what was happening to her but knew that something was wrong. As she lifted herself up another shiver hit her again, causing her arms to give out on her. Instead of pushing herself up, she decided to roll over. If she couldn't get up, at least she wouldn't remain face planted against the ground.

She didn't know what was happening to her. She wanted to use her Mana to check the condition of her body but she couldn't. Every shiver caused her mind to blank and ruined her concentration. It was currently impossible for her to use any Magic at all.

As soon as she was staring face up at the sky, her body rapidly heated up and her muscles felt like they were turning to mush. Noticing this, Altair's panic started to turn into fear. This strange sickness she had never felt before and couldn't identify had almost completely immobilized her.

Coming to this thought, Altair struggled to push the button on her bracelet. She didn't have the lucidity to worry about her traits being visible. She was more worried that if she stayed out in the rain then it would kill her.

She barely managed to push the button when her arms gave out completely on her.

The shivers came more frequently as her arms fell limp to the ground. Her mind constantly floated into a haze as she stared at the sky. Her panic and thoughts became as scattered as the rain that pelted her body and she sunk into a warmth that was like she was in a hot bath.

Dave got to Altair within two minutes of her pushing the button. He found her facing the sky while flat on her back with an elevated body temperature. Her hair had changed to silver under unknown conditions but he didn't have the time to worry about it. He quickly carried her back into the mansion through a side door.

He needed to get Altair to Liam. However, he couldn't bring her to the recovery room. Joshua and his friends were still in there and he knew that everything related to Altair was top secret. Naturally, this included the strange change to her hair color. He placed her on the ground inside and covered her head with his jacket to keep her hair concealed. He then lifted her up and immediately felt how hot her body was.

On instinct, he pulled away. His arms had been burned just from touching her body with his bare arms. Dave gritted his teeth and used Spiritual Energy to shield himself somewhat against her and carried her to her room.
