DPM Chapter 105-Dark Temple
Translated by Snowfall77

Three individuals departed in a strange way.

Saman held Wu Xingyun in one arm and Mozun in the other.

While Wu Xingyun’s hands tightly grasped onto both Mozun and Saman’s bodies.

The Saer quickly took off into the air. Meanwhile the immense unified light elder slowly investigated the entirety of the planet’s ship base before also ascending midair.

Alarmed, Saman started flying at its fastest speed, but regardless of how strenuously it tried to escape, the huge light elder was always right behind them.

“That thing is able to see us,” was Wu Xingyun’s first thought.

Then Wu Xingyun turned his head and watched carefully. When he saw the unified light elder was actually continually growing larger, yet not quite catching up to the threesome, Wu Xingyun realized he was wrong.

For its part, Saman didn’t dare stop running until Mozun gradually regained consciousness.

Narrowly avoiding death yet again, Mozun took stock of the bizarre situation.

Getting the gist of what was happening, Mozun extended his golden shield around them and Saman temporarily stopped its flight.

Wu Xingyun and Mozun might be enemies with Saman, but right now they had to face adversity together. All three turned to observe the unified light elder at their rear.

The spherical geometry of the light elder kept enlarging, the four arms at the center pointed in four different directions.

Bzzt……Four gigantic columns of light simultaneously surged in the four different directions, each one stretching for miles.

Achieving an outcome that no one, not even the unified light elder, expected.

One column of light hit something. Multiple somethings.

Five or six Dark Temple warriors.

No one had previously detected the Dark Temple warriors, not even the unified light elder.

Striking them had been completely accidental. Although it saved the Saer and their artificial planet.

The Dark Temple warriors, caught by the blazing column of light, immediately became visible. They expended energy to protect their bodies, however it had the opposite effect of making the damage to them more violently intense.

In under half a second, the Dark Temple warriors, masters of concealing themselves in darkness, sneak attacks, and assassination, were annihilated by the unified light elder’s attack.

Saman wasn’t that surprised, but Mozun, watching the scene unfold, was shaken to his core.

This unified light elder was not something humankind had the strength to defeat. Not even if all the mutants fought as one.

The capabilities the unified light elder possessed were too tremendous and awful.

Mozun couldn’t waste time with the Saer’s internecine fights. What he had to do was get home as soon as possible to inform the rest of humanity about the Saer’s intentions and actual strength.

Saman, on the other hand, was feeling deep regret. It peeked at Mozun, eyes filled with hate, anger, and reluctance.

If not for Mozun severing its spirit link, Saman could have unified with Mozun and eventually come to possess such power.

Both Mozun and Saman become lost in their inner thoughts, rife with brooding, leaving only Wu Xingyun to watch was going on around them.

They had to escape and travel a long ways. Meaning they needed a spaceship. And the odds of the Dark Temple warriors getting on this planet without some kind of ship were almost nil.

Wu Xingyun couldn’t speak, his body was still healing. So he pulled on Mozun’s arm, then pointed off into the horizon.

Mozun got Wu Xingyun’s meaning clearly. Furthermore, Mozun no longer needed Saman’s assistance.

Shaking off Saman’s hold, Mozun took Wu Xingyun into his arms.

Wu Xingyun gripped Mozun tightly, the two quickly becoming invisible. Whereas Saman gradually reappeared.

Frantic, Saman tried to communicate via a spirit link that no longer existed: “You can’t abandon me like this!”

But there was no connection between it and Mozun. Saman ended up blindly clawing into nothingness unto it finally clutched onto Wu Xingyun.

The trio flew far away from the unified light elder with incomparable speed. Three days later, they found a ship floating in space.

Approaching the ship, the hatch obligingly slid open automatically. The three entered the ship, finding it empty inside.

Happily, thanks to the ship’s atmosphere, the three people could now speak to each other.

Although he’d gotten to the point where he able to walk by himself, Wu Xingyun’s self-healing ability wasn’t as high as Mozun’s. Taking advantage while Wu Xingyun was still a bit weakened, Mozun explained everything that had happened from the point they’d been separated on the Saer planet to when Mozun had severed his own spiritual link.

Wu Xingyun was thoughtful. Saman kept heaving frustrated sighs: “I never imagined I’d be in the state I am now. Renounced by my people……with no place to go.”

Mozun made no response to Saman’s whining statements. Not wishing to get in trouble with a certain someone, Mozun didn’t intend to bring the Saer along much further. Quickly changing the subject, Mozun asked: “That……that combined light elder, what did it become? How is it so powerful?”

Even though they’d fled for three days and were now on a spaceship, they could still the unified light elder’s light through the ship windows.

How much energy and volume it must have……

Mozun estimated that if it kept growing at its current rate, it’d soon be the equivalent of a small star.

Expression brimming with bitterness, Saman stared out a window at the unified light elder: “That is……true unity. Light elders will practice in the temple for such a day. They give up their spirit and their body and combine into a new spirit body, the highest form of life. I hadn’t ever seen it before. This is my first time. How unexpected such power would be used for sake of hunting you down.” Saman stole a glance at Mozun.

Puzzled, Wu Xingyun interjected: “That thing……becoming a new body……what about the two light elders it used to be?”

“Of course they no longer exist,” Saman answered condescendingly, “Once unified, it can’t return to its previous forms. Otherwise it wouldn’t be giving up your spirit and body, would it?”

Hearing Saman’s words, Wu Xingyun and Mozun exchanged a look.

Both men had some lingering fear, and they simultaneously backed a little farther away from Saman.

If Mozun had wavered back in the Saer temple and made union with Saman……

What the consequences might have been……only Saman wanted to know.

Saman wasn’t completely oblivious to Mozun’s and Wu Xingyun’s hostility towards it. And originally Saman had wanted to kill them both to relieve its anger. Yet Saman was now homeless and killing the two partners would change nothing. On the contrary, Saman was now harboring the faint hope that Mozun would take it away to find a new home.

“All of me……was within the embrace of the Deity. Then you suddenly show up and ruin everything!” Saman glared at Mozun. “Don’t you dare desert me when I have nowhere to go!”

“And if I didn’t help you two, it would have been impossible for you to escape!” Saman spat in rage. “Despite the fact that you’re human and you’ve betrayed the Deity, I……I am determined to follow you!”

Mozun and Wu Xingyun looked at each other in speechless dismay. Feeling awkward, Mozun coughed. He wanted to speak, but wasn’t sure how to suitably phrase his words.

Instead the atmosphere within the ship became quiet and oppressive.

Until a weak voice sounded out of nowhere: “You are……an abandoned light elder?”

The voice was unfamiliar to the three visible individuals, and all three felt shivers run down their backs.

Someone else was on the ship……

A fourth person……

“Who are you?” Mozun shouted. “Show yourself!”

Wu Xingyun was the first to sense it. Slightly turning his head, he saw a shadow behind him slowly revealing itself.

Red-skinned, red-haired, and going by human appearances, around thirteen or fourteen years old.

It wore a gold cloak and it had no hands, but blades of light instead.

A underage Dark Temple warrior.

Without thinking, both Mozun and Saman drew closer to Wu Xingyun. The fact that someone had been silently lurking around them, listening in without being detected, was rather frightening.

“Don’t……be nervous. I don’t have bad intentions. Really……” The speaker’s youth was obvious by its tone. “I don’t mind you using my ship, I just need to know……my parent……my family, what’s happened to them?”

Not letting his guard down, Mozun put a protective arm across Wu Xingyun while covertly gathering energy in his other hand.

“Who is your parent and family?” Saman asked.

The young Dark Temple warrior’s nose sniffed, then it told its story in a low voice.

Driven out by the light elders, the Dark Temple warriors have wandered the fringes of the universe. But they hadn’t forgotten their hatred, never missing a chance to take revenge.

Still, their numbers kept dwindling. When they’d discovered the Saer’s new planet at the edge of the Milky Way, the Dark Temple warriors decided to pour out the entirety of their force to destroy the planet and the Saer on it.

They had all gone out, leaving behind only the one who wasn’t yet fully grown, to stay on the ship and wait for their news.

This one’s name was Zelatu. It had been many days and Zelatu had still had no sign of its family. Instead it got two light elders and a person somewhat like itself seizing its ship.

Inexperienced and with no idea what to do, Zelatu had remained hidden and listened in on the newcomers’ conversation.

Not until Zelatu had gathered that the three weren’t an immediate threat, had Zelatu felt comfortable making its existence known.

Wu Xingyun, Mozun, and Saman, realizing that Zelatu was the last of its kind, couldn’t help a feeling of burst of sympathy and melancholy.

They carefully explained to Zelatu that all its family, including its parent, had been killed the unified light elder.

Sobbing, Zelatu’s thin shoulders kept shaking, eyes full of helpless tears: “What do I do? What should I do?”

Saman cast a long look at Mozun and then at Zelatu, weighing matters carefully before saying: “I know that your people, although wanderers, had a base and lives of their own. My spirit link to the Deity has been severed by my enemy. There will never be a way for me to return to the Saer. If I had any choice, I wouldn’t be in the same place as my foes. You……should know the history of Dark Temple warriors……that you were also once light elders……”

Zelatu blinked at Saman, unsure of what the light elder was getting at.

For Saman’s heart had turned in an unexpected direction: “You and I are both abandoned and alone……You are the last Dark Temple warrior……but if I join you, you won’t the last anymore. We can reproduce, we can……became a new progenitor of the Dark Temple warriors.”
