DPM-Chapter 107-Wedding Anniversary
Translated by Snowfall77

The new development in the mutants’ situation with the Federation was unexpected. A few mutants opposed resuming talks with the Federation, but most, including Wu Xingyun, were in favor of at least listening to what the Federation had to say.

A meeting was quickly arranged, and about three days after returning to the Alliance, Mozun returned to the boundary between Alliance and Federation territory.

The meeting was taking place on a large space station situated on the border. Wu Xingyun was right at Mozun’s side the entire time, although his presence was undetected by the Federation.

Along with the Federation president, the military’s Marshal, Wen Nuo, various diplomats, and a person Mozun didn’t recognize were present.

Mozun had no idea who the unknown woman off to the corner was. But Wu Xingyun did.

She was a female biologist who’d gone missing from Wu Xingyun’s dowry team.

“What’s she doing here?!” Wu Xingyun was filled with questions. When traveling to Yuanxing to be married, Wu Xingyun, his escort team, and his dowry team had encountered a meteor flow, causing heavy losses of both materials and people.

Wu Xingyun had always assumed that this particular biologist, who’d originally been from Luoshi Research, had died. He could never have imagined that she’d survived.

“What have you got to say?” Despite facing an impending crisis, Mozun had no intention of conceding on certain issues.

Even now, Mozun was more on guard against the Federation than he was the Saer.

The Federation had been his enemy for too many years. Mozun was clear on the things they’d be willing to do to win.

Middle-aged, yet much younger looking, hair hanging in glossy curls, and giving off a dignified charm, President Aili spoke first.

“About the three conditions you gave the Federation when we last spoke, the Federation council discussed them in depth and found them much too severe. While I’m personally willing to give up everything for peace, your conditions are too oppressive to the population of the Federation, our military, and our excellent scientists. How could they accept such terms?”

Mozun smiled. “It doesn’t matter if you accept my conditions or not. Sooner or later, it’ll all be mine.”

It wasn’t that Mozun didn’t comprehend humanity’s current predicament, he just wasn’t willing to drop his imposing demeanor.

President Aili didn’t want to act weak in front of Mozun either. She still had cards left in her hand, but she knew that they alone weren’t capable of saving the Federation from destruction.

Taking into account the Federation military’s reports on the Saer, the Federation, caught between the Alliance and the Saer, was facing a rapid death.

All President Aili could really do now was use what little she had to wrangle more concessions out of the Night Shard.

“I’ve only recently learned about your past history with the Federation,” President Aili addressed Mozun with apparent confidence, “But those are matters of past. We’re now facing a common enemy. You should know that the Alliance and the Federation are interdependent, and if one of us falls, the other is in danger. I know our old relationship was very unpleasant, but……”

Not wishing to waste time on meaningless arguments, Mozun interrupted President Aili and got straight to the point: “The Demon Army can fight the Saer. Every mutant is a powerful warrior in their own right. Every mutant fighting together? The Alliance can certainly take on the Saer. But don’t pretend the Federation is on the same level as us. Not anymore. How about instead you give me one reason why I should be lenient to you?”

Surprised by Mozun’s bluntness, President Aili didn’t immediately respond. She hadn’t wanted to show her cards too quickly, so she’d prepared for a lot of speechifying. Mozun’s impatience was unexpected, and President Aili couldn’t help recalling the awe and idolization of the Federal soldiers who’d seen Mozun in action at the Milky Way border, leaving her unsure how to proceed.

It was the hitherto silent Wen Nuo’s voice that cut the quiet: “Our request is simple. Mozun, you don’t want to beat around the bush? Good. I won’t mince words. You’ve always bitterly hated the Federation and I, in turn, have always hated the Alliance. However the Saer are more formidable than either one of us. The Federation is willing is share all our science and technology, free of cost, and our most elite troops to fight alongside the Demon army in combat. All we ask in return is that the independence of the Federation government is maintained.”

Raising an eyebrow and shaking his head, Mozun gave a little laugh: “Impossible. You’re too young to know what stellar habits the Federal government has!”

" "

Glaring at Mozun, Wen Nuo reflected to himself that he just turned forty-six years old. Only to have some twentysomething-looking mutant tell him—you’re too young?

Her emotions back in check, President Aili asked: “What if the Federation was sincerely entreating you for assistance?”

Smiling slightly, Mozun replied: “It depends…..What benefit do I get from helping you?”

President Aili did not want to reveal the Federation’s bottom line just yet, but the cunning and unforgiving Night Shard wasn’t giving her much choice. She could only use the truth: “We’re willing to make you combat mecha that, our scientists having carefully studying your data, should double your combat strength. We are also willing to dispatch our Ghost soldier troops, from there……your spouse can act as their temporary commander to aid you in battle.”

“That’s it? Nothing else?” Mozun raised his eyebrows again.

Wracking her brain for the biggest concession she could think of, President Aili offered: “To show the two sides’ reconciliation, we’re willing to hold a grand Federation wedding ceremony for you, along with ten outstanding boys as an additional dowry.”

While the corners of Mozun’s mouth went higher and higher, he glanced to his side where an invisible Wu Xingyun was currently very unhappy……

The next second, Wu Xingyun grabbed Mozun’s ear and whispered into it: “You dare, I’ll send you back home humiliated!”

Mozun’s smile grew rather ambiguous. President Aili interpreted it one way, while Wen Nuo thought only of how such an offer would hurt and shame Wu Xingyun.

Taking a deep breath, Wen Nuo stated emphatically: “The Federation does not have such a tradition! We won’t give you any boys. The Federation Ghost solider, second-class sergeant Wu Xingyun, still stands as the peace symbol between our two sides. Furthermore……” Wen Nuo didn’t want to say what came next, yet he knew whether he said it or not, eventually Mozun would find out.

“Furthermore, the matter of mutants not being able to reproduce……is a historical issue of many years. And the Federation has just recently found a way to rectify this problem. Scientists from Luoshi Research have found the key to unlock the genetic code. If you wish……both sides can cooperate, and mutants’ reproductive capabilities can be restored.”

Surprised by this new tidbit, Mozun kept turning his head to the unseen Wu Xingyun, unable to stop himself from fantasizing a scene where Wu Xingyun was giving birth to their child.

Picturing Wu Xingyun with a big stomach……it was really……very arousing.

“Right, if that’s the case……it’s a deal. As for another big wedding……I don’t need that. Change it to a twentieth wedding anniversary celebration—a commemoration for twenty years of peace between the Federation and the Alliance.”

Mozun then stood up, ending the conversation with: “Discuss further details with Liu Meng. I’ve got other things to do, so I’ll leave first.”

“What others things have you got to do?” A puzzled Wu Xingyun asked as he followed Mozun off the space station and back onto their ship.

Mozun seized hold of Wu Xingyun and answered: “Something very important!”

“???”

“Fuck you till you’re pregnant!”

Being inexplicably pushed down, Wu Xingyun couldn’t help grumbling to Mozun: “Is there something wrong with your brain?! The scientists mean they’ll extract your cells and use cell division for reproduction……aah……”

Comfortable and excited, Mozun replied: “You’ll have to excuse me. I only graduated high school, I don’t understand such advanced issues……”

“You……bastard!”

Ten days later was the twentieth anniversary of the day Wu Xingyun and Mozun had gotten married on Yuanxing.

Wu Xingyun had suffered many hardships, including nearly dying. Only after great difficulty had he’d finally married Mozun.

But this time it was completely different.

Mozun had to give generous red envelopes to all three of Wu Xingyun’s brothers, making it through multiple barricades of people to get to his spouse.

When Mozun finally retrieved Wu Xingyun from his family, Mozun and Wu Xingyun held hands and walked to the podium together.

This new wedding ceremony held great significance.

The last wedding had been nothing but a plot by Mozun. This time it was real.

The Federations released tens of thousands doves of peace, flying up into the air along with streamers and balloons, the whole lively scene being simultaneously broadcast across the Milky Way.

First, on behalf of the Federation, President Aili read out the content of the new peace treaty.

It included Wen Nuo becoming Marshal of the Federation military, as designated by Mozun, Wu Xingyun becoming the commander of the Ghost soldier unit, and the development of body armor suitable for mutants.

When President Aili was done reading, it was the Night Shard’s turn to show the sincerity of the Alliance.

Mozun fixed his eyes on Wu Xingyun who was beaming at him.

Slowly getting down on one knee, Mozun took a ring out of his pocket.

Last time Wu Xingyun had refused. This time Mozun asked in a very tender voice: “Wu Xingyun, from this point on, will you be with me forever? To never part, whether in life or death.”

With a small smile, Wu Xingyun said: “Yes!”

Mozun put the ring on Wu Xingyun’s finger, wrapped the soldier in his arms and made a solemn oath to both the Federation and the Alliance: “So long as my man says not to go to war with the Federation, I……will not make war!”

The mutants present made a rowdy commotion, while with no hesitation Mozun kissed Wu Xingyun’s lips in front of everyone.

The camera lens fixed the moment in time, magnifying and disseminating it for propaganda.

Most were happy with the result. A few bitterly hated it.

Cell Division
Cell division is the process cells go through to divide. There are several types of cell division, depending upon what type of organism is dividing. Organisms have evolved over time to have different and more complex forms of cell division. Most prokaryotes, or bacteria, use binary fission to divide the cell. Eukaryotes of all sizes use mitosis to divide. Sexually-reproducing eukaryotes use a special form of cell division called meiosis to reduce the genetic content in the cell. This is necessary in sexual reproduction because each parent must give only half of the required genetic material, otherwise the offspring would have too much DNA, which can be a problem.
