DPM Chapter 110-Unified Light Elder
Translated by Snowfall77

Through boundless starry skies glided a gray ship, its hard exterior effusing a faint blue radiance.

Its destination a vast expanse shrouded in heavy white fog.

There the immense fog was swiftly devouring moons, stars, and plants, meteorites drifting aimlessly through a pale hell that sought to envelop everything in its path.

Mozun was in the latest version of a Wagelei ship, peering ahead.

The ship was small and extremely fast, modified to evade Duodao warriors.

Meanwhile Wu Xingyun, along with some other Ghost soldiers, piloted a stealth fighter.

Tens of thousands of small-scale ships had sailed the cosmos to gather at the edge of the Milky Way.

Now they were confronted with the pervading white fog, the screen in the command room showing only its mist, whatever might be lurking within it hidden from sight.

The command room was abroad a Federation mothership Mozun had appropriated, under the joint command of Wen Nuo and Liu Meng.

Wen Nuo’s expression was unreadable, not so much as a trace of smile on his face. He just stared fixedly at the screen and gave his orders: “Squadron One, prepare the left flank. Squadron Three, prepare the right flank. Ghost unit, advance to the detect enemy positions.”

A hundred newly recruited Ghost soldiers pulled away from formation, their stealth fighters piercing into the fog.

" "

The situation rapidly revealed itself.

Thinking nothing of humanity, the Saer felt no need to bother with tactics. There were two groups of Duodao warriors oriented in two different directions, one light elder accompanying each group.

In between those two groups was a third very large group of Duodao warriors, the unified light elder with them, moving as an integral whole, intent on reaching the planet the Saer were currently transforming to form a defensive perimeter.

Calmly sitting in his spacecraft as the images were also transmitted to him, Mozun slightly raised an eyebrow.

“I suggest we use the strong to attack the weak. Let Federation warships stall the big group in the middle, while the Demon Army nibbles away at either side bit by bit,” Wen Nuo told Liu Meng, “Tell Mozun my decision.”

Declining to do so, Liu Meng just slightly shook his head: “No, Federation troops are absolutely not a match for the unified light elder. Nor are they capable of stopping that many Duodao warriors.”

“Mozun, are we acting as previously planned?” Liu Meng asked through the intercom.

“Yes.” Mozun’s tone was definite. “The Alliance will engage the center group. Ghost soldiers and the rest of the Federation troops will eliminate the enemies on either flank, then close in on the middle.

His opinion overruled, Wen Nuo’s eyes darkened with frustration for a moment before he pulled himself back together.

“In that case, let’s begin,” he said in a low voice.

The order came down and the mutants of the Demon Army ejected from their Wagelei ships. Dispersing into space, they raised their arms together.

Attached to their wrists like a bracelet was their smart mechas, the nerve chain of each mecha rapidly attaching itself to the spine.

Metal flowed out from the wrist like molten rattan, coiling around the body, forming around each mutant immense armor of a unique shape.

“It’s been a long while since I fought hand-to-hand……but I don’t mind doing it again,” Mozun said blithely, “I guess it’s time to move up. How happy to have another little monster to play with!”

Taking the lead, Mozun charged into the fog, and from each of the six arms of his mecha, an enormous particle cannon opened fire.

The other mutants followed him, one by one entering the fog to fire upon the Duodao warriors and the unified light elder.

This thick white fog, wasn’t it so very familiar to every mutant?

They had struggled in it—and they had been reborn in it.

The fog obstructed their vision and hampered their communicators, yet not one mutant was fazed.

Survivors of the last days of Earth, they didn’t need to be told how to use their hard-won skills.

The Duodao warriors discovered the mutants quickly enough. Possessed by utter conviction, the fearless Saer warriors advanced on the mutants.

Noiseless clashes. Tearing asunder. Last breaths. Silent death. All played against a backdrop of creeping fog and the vast universe.

No one could see Mozun. Not even he knew himself how many Duodao warriors he carved and blew apart. The opponents’ bodies were agile, strong, taking Mozun back how it’d been during the painful trials of the last days.

Yet he could not stop. He was no longer a weak young man, relying on the protection of Wu Xingyun to survive. Now he had something to guard, a person to protect.

Humming, Mozun’s particle cannons massed a single beaming sphere. Expanding tenfold, it shot towards a clump of rushing Duodao warriors.

The other mutants in the fog were the same as Mozun, confronting an enemy many times more powerful than themselves.

“Ghost soldiers, it’s time! Infiltrate the enemy’s flanks and eliminate the light elders.” Wen Nuo barked the order.

Immediately flying toward their target, the stealth fighters were accompanied by countless Wagelei ships.

Wu Xingyun, piloting a fighter himself, was discovered as he entered the fog.

The air distortions the fighter made could not concealed as countless Duodao warriors surged to surround the fighter. Dealing with the Ghost soldiers as they would a Dark Temple warrior, the Duodao warriors blocked and reported the coordinates to the Light Elders.

Just because he couldn’t see the light elder coming, that didn’t mean Wu Xingyun didn’t know what was happening. He gave the order to the other Ghost soldiers: “Leave your fighter, we’ll be fighting freely from here on.”

Exiting his stealth fighter, Wu Xingyun, along with his comrades, noiselessly snuck further into the fog.

Since he’d witnessed how the Saer had used the meat grinder tactic on the Dark Temple warrior on the Saer planet, Wu Xingyun had specifically trained the other Ghost soldiers for such a situation. With the Wagelei ships behind them, giving covering fire, the Ghost soldiers moved in tacit harmony.

The Wagelei ships, artillery firing away, attracted most of the Duodao warriors’ attention, while the Ghost soldiers dealt with any lone stragglers.

Thanks to his temporary spirit link with the Saer, Mozun understood full well that the Saer had no fear of death. And there was no such thing as surrender. If they chose to fight, they fought to the very end.

Routing the main force of the Saer army—there’d never been any such delusion.

The Ghost soldiers pushed on with difficulty, facing terrifying enemies with alloyed armor harder than a ship’s hull, and who would never stop attacking until every single last one of them was killed.

It was the most horrible, arduous battle in Federation history.

Compared to the fighting on the flanks, the mutants within the white fog were having a slightly easier time of it.

Led by Mozun, emitting red beams of light as he unleashed his electromagnetic attacks, the Demon Army mutants were killing hapless Duodao warriors like farmers harvesting a crop.

In only about half a day, the larger part of the central Duodao warriors’ souls had departed their bodies, blood floating away in space. The indigo liquid quickly solidified into blue ice, giving off a feeble light, a makeshift azure sea flowing in the starlight.

But Mozun knew this was only the beginning. The Saer would not be deterred. Worse still, the unified light elder hadn’t even bothered to make an appearance yet.

Raising his head in his mecha, Mozun looked for the unified light elder. So far he hadn’t spotted it. Still, it had to be waiting somewhere, no matter how distant. Fleeing the Saer planet in the Dark Temple ship, Mozun had been able to see the unified light elder from afar for three days and nights.

How big would that monstrosity be now? Surely at least the size of a small star.

And with that kind of radiance, the energy and heat generated, even wearing his mecha, Mozun wouldn’t be able to get too close to it.
What frightened Mozun even more was—if the light elder was where Mozun estimated it to be, using regular measures of distance, Mozun should be able to see it.

However, if it was moving at a rate greater than light years, the light it gave off would move slower than itself, and maybe Mozun wouldn’t be able to detect it in time.

Uneasy in his heart, Mozun was about to order a retreat, but before he could a huge ball of light suddenly appeared far off.

At the center of the ball of light was one person made of two. Two heads, four arms, four legs, the trunk of the body fused tightly together in bizarre perversity. Its arms were raised high, creating a huge column of light that spread throughout the abyss of space.

It moved its arms and the light beam slashed towards the mutant like a machete.

Leaping away a great distance, Mozun still lost an arm of his mecha to the blade of light.

If the unified light elder could that to Mozun……what chance did the other mutants stand?

—The situation on the battlefield reversed, the two light elders who’d been forced back by the Ghost soldiers sheltering at the invincible unified light elder’s side.

One by one, the mutants retreated and Wagelei ships frantically picked up Ghost soldiers before jumping back.

In practically the blink of an eye, the humans forces retreated about twenty light years away.

“What the hell was that?!” Wen Nuo’s spine had chills running up and down it. Although he’d been told about the unified light elder, seeing it for the first time had shook him to the core.

And at the center—that deviant blend of bodies, two heads with the identical expression.

While its lower half entangled in a way that made people blush to see it. Never mind the terrifying beam of light it wielded.

“That? That is the Saer’s ultimate weapon. The combination of two into one—a unified light elder.”
