DPM Chapter 13 Provocation (1) Part 1
Translated by Snowfall77

Completely stunned, Wu Xingyun didn’t know how to digest Mozun’s words. The psychologist’s training all for naught, Wu Xingyun’s brain was a blank, only continually bouncing back to one thudding realization—he was done for. He had really messed up his mission.

Yet Wu Xingyun was also faintly doubtful. It was true, he shouldn’t make Mozun a cuckold…No……Mozun would only nominally be his husband, there was nothing but an arranged marriage between them. What a hideous mess. Mozun yapping about Wu Xingyun being forever loyal to him. Wu Xingyun was a solider of the Federation army, dammit, not some feverish, fanatical Night Demon fan!

Once Wu Xingyun figured that point out, he snapped out of his daze. But even if his confusion cleared, he still wasn’t witty enough to conjure up devastating words to refute Mozun. He could only keep staring at Mozun, dumbstruck.

Mozun’s face was flawless. No blemish to be found, never mind how annoying the owner was. Perceiving such perfection up close, Wu Xingyun found himself unable to muster any disgust.

‘I’m a failure,’ Wu Xingyun judged himself, sure his disastrous task wasn’t going to be completed. What would happen when he got shipped back? He’d be punished for this fiasco, all because he’d called the name of the wrong person while half-unconscious?

However, the tangled threads of Wu Xingyun’s thoughts were a mystery to Mozun. To Mozun’s view, the smaller solider in front of him looked defiant, lips pressed tight, with a pair of unconvinced and refusing-to-admit-defeat eyes.

Which only made Mozun more incensed. He’d originally thought that confronting Wu Xingyun with evidence of the soldier’s moral shortcomings would make Wu Xingyun more compliant. Mozun hadn’t expected that the insect would still dare to challenge.

Mozun smiled coldly, raising his hand to speak into his communicator. “You, come in! I haven’t seen you for a while, and I miss you!”

Wu Xingyun, still caught in wondering how to salvage the whole situation, heard something outside. Pricking up his ears, he caught what sounded like the nearby soldiers doing a collective inhale of breath. Mozun had just spoken to someone in an intimate tone. Who was it that had the soldiers seemingly spooked?

While Wu Xingyun was puzzling, the curtain of the tent lifted and in walked a solitary man.

He wore a white shirt, collar open, with hair down to his shoulders. When he laid eyes on Mozun, he gave a flirtatious smile, saying: “Master Mozun, don’t leave me alone in the ship anymore, alright?”

Mozun beckoned to the man, who promptly went over to Mozun and brazenly sat on his lap, flopping an arm around Mozun’s neck.

The precious scene completely flabbergasted Wu Xingyun.

Not because Mozun brought along a lover while negotiating with his fiancé, but because the lover was the presumed-dead Ouyang Liu!

Wu Xingyun’s eyebrows rose practically into his hairline. Staring at Ouyang Liu, Wu Xingyun tried to make sense of the situation. Why was Ouyang Liu with Mozun? Why was Ouyang Liu cavorting about without his uniform, not adhering to Federation dress code? So he hadn’t died…Why and how had he come to be here?

“What do you mean by this?” The muddled Wu Xingyun asked Mozun.

However, it was Ouyang Liu who sneered contemptuously, exaggeratedly stroking Mozun’s neck. “You don’t understand? It means Master Mozun doesn’t want to marry you at all. He likes me! So just quit already!”

Wu Xingyun chided in a low voice: “Captain Ouyang Liu, mind your military discipline! Don’t shame the Federation.”

Ouyang Liu’s face turned crimson, and in his embarrassed anger he opened his mouth to retort, but Mozun stopped him. Mozun stood up, regarding Wu Xingyun stonily. “I’ve made my conditions clear. You’ll either do as I say or get lost. If you don’t want to marry me, I think someone else will.”

Mozun glanced back at Ouyang Liu. “Isn’t that right?”

Immediately Ouyang Liu trilled: “Of course. These past three months together, I’ve completely fallen in love with you.”

Unable to bear listening to anymore sickening exchanges, Wu Xingyun turned to leave the tent. But again Mozun blocked his way, whispering in Wu Xingyun’s ear. “I know this is a difficult choice, and you didn’t have much time. Except the three days are up, and you haven’t cleared your mind yet. I should have thrown you all back into the void you came from. But…if you kiss me, I’ll give you more one day.”
